My uncle was in this band. He had two families and we didn't see him much. But he was a good dude, and really good at horseshoe.
Nice. Love this record. I he still around?
Right on dude.
190k views for a record that came out what 40 years ago....its great and your uncle was part of something amazing. One day their will be a old punk as president....then we will get things done!!!
@@steveg8102 bro the punks are the establishment now and ain't nothing happening
This album is under rated, I'm proud to say I have a first pressing I bought back in 85. @@steveg8102
Great and underappreciated band. George was a great guy! He would occasionally come up and sing a cover of Ace of Spades with my band when he was living in Washington DC.
timeless classic record, I'm in my 50's and I fucking love this LP, raw angry and full of melodic hooky tunes.
One of the best SoCal hardcore albums ever. Huge respect.
still one of the best hardcore records ever recorded
just as great as it was when it came out. been saw this group w/Charged GBH in 1985. !!!!!!!!!!!
this record holds up in a way so many don't. i get so pumped when i hear it. SO DAMN GOOD.
Childhood, growing up in the 80's with many hc albums and skating with this cassette playing in the headphones. This still to this day holds in my top 10 for socal hc albums.
Fuckin still stomps.
This is what I grew up on. Real punk rock
One of the finest punk bands to come from San Diego, CA.
this is gold. the riffs are timeless.
admiralyost the wriff in fair warning though man
BoS was à great old school HC band. I was 53years old, i love that band... réal was vocals and music. I was old manager INFECTED YOUTH myband we have 2lps and 3tapes in 1988-1989..good.. you are very good...
i saw them in charlotte n.c. at the MILESTONE in the mid to late 1980's and they sounded just like this live. I met the guitarist and the drummer and hung out with them for an hour after the show and it burned in my brain. What a great band.
+skyking01549 Milestone is still open and having shows. You still in Charlotte area?
Was that the tour with Tezz Roberts?
***** comment deleted. N/M. I found what I wanted to know.
Jealous tbh
This was daily listening back in my day youngsters!!! Still kicks mother freaking ass!!!
Best Motorhead cover ever!
LTandDS .. it's fucking fantastic
This freekin' ROCKS my liver!!! I remember listening to these guys in high school (1983-87 or so). This vinyl and about 5 others were in constant rotation (RKL, Dead Kennedys, Bad Religion 1982 LP "How Could Hell Be Any Worse", Minor Threat and 2 or 3 others)
hoda2k11 same ha! santa cruz 1980-now punk saw them at the crest around 86?i fukin dont know but they played with thre subhumans and s.c. own blast.
WAAAAY BETTER WAY TO WAKE UP THAN ANY MORNING COFFEE I HAVE EVER HAD...; )
My introduction to punk rock in 85 I was 14 years old I love Battalion of saints 🍻
I m still listing this record..it s a monument for me
The mix on this version is so much better than the versions that are on music streaming sites
don't know how i missed this album when it came out! really enjoyed listening to this. thanks for upload.
glad to see george still going strong he is an awesome front man long live battalion
"They walk the streets late at night, try to make money so they can survive, sell I ng their bodies for a cheap price , and low chump will suffice" these guys are sick!!!
My dad was in that band.
TheDogbelly Thank your father for me.
+Shapiro Dead King Going to see them friday lol
+TheDogbelly Very cool Dogbelly, You have southern California hard core punk rock blood by default. For the rest of us, it's just in our blood. Tell your dad B.O.S. was AWESOME
+Dexten Bleh they're playing Chicago on 3/19! First time ever I have a chance to see them
***** Haha it was a good show! Just nobody really showed up.
This was one of the first bands of ever heard the kid down the street named Sean Davis got me into the punk music and their personal friends of his and this is what he played and made me a cassette tape of this band
Yeah man!!!!! BATTALION OF SAINTS.
I heard my favorite version of Second Coming on a super 7 sampler.
Saw this album in Gainesville FL saints were banging they're heads to ac DC in they're van while waiting to go on... awesome
Saw them at The Jockey Club in Newport, Ky- thank God for TH-cam because for years they were not known and no vinyl was available. They were great Live...and???
Wickid stoked these cats playing Philly Thursday!!! havent seen em since late 80's/early 90's; been so long I cant recall jajajaja. So psyched to see em
This is one of those albums you can put on repeat and listen to 3 or 4 times in one sitting.
It never gets old
thank you I had this on a recoding when I was a kid. it wasn't labeled so I didn't know who it was till a older kid told me. I love it thanks
Battalion of Saints definitely deserve much more recognition than they ever received. Like so many phenomenal bands from the early 80’s, it was a scene that didn’t want the attention of mainstream appeal because the masses were blinded by the idiocy of MTV and utterly sucked.
I know because I was there. But in my humble opinion, pop/ commercial music has always sucked ass. So, hardcore punk was right up my alley as a kid. Eighties hardcore as well as its scene was legendary and perfect for us outcasts, freaks, non-conformists, etc.
I agree. They should be ahead of bands like early agnostic front etc...even m8nor threat even tho they came earlier
Saw BoS 20+ years ago. Total Chaos opened for them. Great show. They did Ace of Spades as their encore. Place went nuts.
Fuck yeah. I literally just saw total chaos and exploited a few days ago haha. Amazing theyre still doin it
Great record!!! This is really great raw hardcore!!
Probably haven't heard this since a year after it came out. 30 years. I like it more than ever. Wish I could still bounce off the walls like I used to. Just as well I can't. Y'know, there are doors if you look for them.
sucks, don't it?
Dont worry bro...the youngins will do ut for u. Im approaching 4p and still gwt rowdy...but youll be glad to know a younger generation is really into this shit.
can't believe i forgot about this album!
great classic!
woo hoo… woo… one of the best opening tracks on any hardcore record
pure 80's HC from Slow Death! I watched Danny Chuco punch Henry Rollins right in the face! These guys meant business....the pit was insane when these guys played!
lol hell yeah dad
First time I saw them I was 13 lol...in San Diego....freakin great!
Tony Linn You know what's up Tony. HB Style.
Tony Linn then what happened after the punch? rollins do anything?
+Matt M Black Flag played a usually incredible set, as usual Rollins channeled all his aggression into his performance
i was surprised they emerged from california, because their flavour seemed so british.
I had this vinyl ... those were the days.
ME too.....and hell yes they were!!
u should still have it
Love battalion of saints
Opened for these guys years ago, rad show
Your Dad is officially a good shit. Saw em in the mid 80's in Mpls. Saw em in the late 90's SD.
WHO THE FUCK DOESN'T LIKE THIS? THIS FUCKING OWNS.
Yeah the fuck it does!
Fucking amazing album!! One of the best in hardcore history.
best band in my opinion and the best part is that theyre still active
One member really doesn’t constitute as being the Battalion of Saints especially this style of barn burning. Their early years were raging, but after ‘85 not so much.
6:46
the best hardcore punk album
Absolutely classic powerfull punk rock!
Contains the only cover song thats better than the original.
Pure Classic!!!
The best BATTS stuff was on the Meathouse compilation put out in 1982 on Version Sound, the label that did the Charred Remains comp. They do demo versions of Holy Vision and one other tune.Blazing stuff.I videotaped them in '85 but the club owner gave George a bottle of Jack Daniels and he completely fucked up the show.I gave him a copy 10 years later.
Muito bom o som punk !!!
love it. just like all their other stuff
thanks again rick!
Personal note:
My Minds Diseased *_0:00_*
Yeah, I know it's listed. The band, the list, the post and the song are all fucking mandatory.
-Cheers
Thank you for affirmation of unrestrained dissent!
best punk album ever on Easter sunday ! 4 1 2018 .
When I was a kid I had tape my friend recorded for me that had this album, JFA Live, and The Kids Will Have Their Say by SSD.
holy shit! how did i miss this? too busy with minor threat and gbh back then i guess....
Great band
This guitar ...best of all
Had this one on vinyl.
Scott Rose - Yep, me too! Had both this LP and the 7" on one occasion or another. I don't know where they wound up?!!
I am thinking about a small pressing of Meathouse1,the follow-up cassette to C Remains on Version Sound, the Ohio label that also released the Negative Element 7" in '83.Batt o Sts does their best stuff,Witch World&Holy Vision demos. The Meathouse tape has 38 bands doing 58 tunes so it would probably be a dbl lp.
Killer lp, there's a mistake in the track listing on the cover, Fair warning is from 14:53 and No time starts at 20:00
Recorded off vinyl, nice.
Mahalo for this!!!
great band...real hardcore punk.
Saw 'em in Albuquerque......early eighties.
I remember seeing their promo adds in the reader and at the clubs, Never saw them I was not a punk.
I like Jay Adams denial song
That ain’t my fucking baby
GODAMN MOTHERFUCKING AWESOME!
CLASSIC
I lit porta-Johns on fire after filming a skate shoot to this whole album....
Good times :)
Sleepless days and sleepless nights I wonder what the f*** keeps me alive
This whole album is super good, but this first song is the anthem, point blank...
I need this on vinyl.
I still have the vinyl... I think it even still plays!
Yes!!!
Made me stand tall...
still love it
San Diego at its finest...
Now this reminds me of growing up in the 80s
Saw them at the Milestone,Charlotte NC back in 1985,a month later the guitarist(sp)fell in the shower and died! They fucking rocked the show before hand!
"Falling in the shower" is a euphemism for ODing on heroin, I do believe.
I have a couple of photos of that show at the milestone ..
Goo Goo gajoob!
WOAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH IM insayne This band Rules Saw them at the Masquerade swag rockn roll fast rock forever fast punk rock veganism
BOS were amazing...but any recordings of the pre BOS band The Neutrons ever surface? Or other recordings of the standbys, the other pre BOS band besides the 7"?
Award winners for most dead band members.
blood on the moon still better than most alive Hardcore bands
+Graveyard Sale Rich Kids on LSD died faster.
ramones? all their OG members are dead, sadly. ain't that a bitch? rolling stones, the who, even zeppelin. not all of them are dead, but the fucking ramones are
