    The flying lure did this 30 years ago, same concept of this video, this is a killer technique for bed fishing, pull it past while they are chasing it and let it swim back in their face and they choke it

      Forgot to include in my previous response. I fish from a yak primarily at Roosevelt and Bartlett.
      I realize that the jerk bait has been beaten to death by all good TH-cam presenters.
      It is difficult for me to stand up on my yak, especially when windy. Could Luis provide some pointers on how to fish a jerk bait while I’m sitting in my yak seat at a later time?
      Thank you again for having a yak angler on your staff and for this insightful technique today!
      I’ll be at Roosevelt Sunday to practice this great technique.

      Easy to fish a jerk bait from a yak. I do it everyday. I jus keep it along the water jerk sideways along the water jus make sure u don’t hit ur rods on a cast if u have them standing up then u jus jerk in front of u along the water pretty simple almost easier than standing IMO

    Great video guys. I recently used the Jackall Driftcraw 4.0 to fish under docks and laydowns and let me tell you it is a great gliding bait. Just flip on the target and let your rod down to make a great glading action.

    Back in the late 80s, there was a flat tube bait with a special flat insert jig head (hook point by the head of bait and line tie by the tentacles). It was promoted to glide under docks. I was probably around 12 or 13 years old at the time. My dad probably still has some in his tackle box.

    In the Table Rock Lake area. We rear nail weighted a zoom centipede worms back in the 1980s. 10# line or less. This caught thousands of fish back then ,but most people used them Texas rigged with a small bullet sinkers. But the secret was nail weighting. When fishing is tough this bait is still a killer in clear to stained water.

So I thought I should break the ice .........I am a 3rd gen Japanese-American and am intrigued with anything fishing-wise that is related to Japan, whether tackle, techniques or Japanese anglers (go Taku!) Keep the wonderful vids coming and I hope to visit your candy store soon!

  • @stoneysdead689
    @stoneysdead689 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    LOL- Kids today- back in my day sonny we had this thing called "television" and on the boob tube was something called "the flying lure" - sold by Roland Martin- and it was designed to glide away from you on the fall. That and the Banjo minnow were probably the two most popular "as seen on t.v." style baits back then. Berkley came out with one a couple years back to- Ike's idea, not too bad, it works- I picked a pack up out of the discount bin at my local tackle shop so I think they got discontinued- not a real popular bait. It would glide away from you into the cover but- it was a finesse style bait with an open hook on it so, then you would either get hung up or end up wrapped up because you're fishing light line in heavy cover. Wasn't thought out very well apparently.

    I think there are a lot of JP baits (mostly soft ones) and techniques that are not so productive outside Japan 'cause most anglers are not confident with or they do not know how to utilise them properly. Here in Europe I had great success with Dolive stick, Cover scat and an other similar soft bait (I do not write the name just in case you'll remove my post as it occurred in the past), as well as techniques like free rig, spy baiting and so on....
