- Perfect saw for what I do. So hell yes I would buy another!
So after owning and running this saw for a year, here is the reflections and review of the experience. Along with the "modifications" I've had to make with my saw setup to work best in the work environment I find myself in now. On this job.

565/572 are so well ergonomically designed that it seems lighter than it is. Now when i grab a 372 it feels clumsy.
Yep, my 2166 is my go to saw, starts easy and even if I let it sit for the summer it only takes 7 or 8 pulls, great video Walt!!!

We try different saws and they’re good saws but we have that one that is a reliable work horse, a complete package. What I take from this video there’s a lot of good saws but when it comes down to it, it’s the one that fits the job demands.
Amen Walt. I am glad the 565 is working great for you. I wish I could have the same experience with auto-tune saws. I found myself reaching for a Stihl MS361r with
a 28" ES light bar in the muddy conditions and brushing. Great point about the modified mufflers I don't think alot of people realize how easy it is for wood chips, snow, water, and other junk to get into a muffler. It is cold this morning so the ported MS 461r Artic with 28" ES light bar is my choice with my hot rod 372xp 24" bar for the landing, to keep a smile on my face :) Be safe out there, and always look up.

C85 really does have some of the nicest stock grind of any chains out there. Just got my self a 565 and it does not disappoint.
I still run mine ( off camera ). Might not win any cookie cut races, but it's an easy saw to work and live with :) At least is still is for me :) In the "for real" day for me, I have the 565, 572 HTSS, and the project 575. For video project saw are front and center. I've got a lot of hours on the 565 with it's 28in B&C, now pushing 200 hrs.

Husqvarna roller file guide w/ raker Gauge. Only way to go. They call it Combi gauge.
Start, stay lit and re-lights. Those are the three requirements I put on any saw.
I hit every new chain, regardless of who made it, a few licks with a file before I use it. I also check the rakers because I have found they are not set to my standards or even close to my standards, recently. I have even found they vary in height from right to left hand cutters, right out of the box. Not Stihl but Oregon, so now I check every new chain. I want to know how you broke a file on an “2 in 1”. I bought one in 3/8 LP and gave to to my former commander to use on her ms 180. I don’t use anything but a round file in a file handle. My raker file has a handle on it, too. I like wood handles, so I can write the diameter on the handle with a Sharpie. My 3/8 set has a 13/64, 7/32 and 3/16 file in it. I only have a couple of saws with .325 chains, a few with RS but most have LGX chains. My 7/32 file gets a good workout. Never broken a file, bent a few, but never broke one. That two in one probably came with 13/64” files and Oregon or Husky chains use 7/32” files. 13/64 file put a little to much beak on an Oregon chain.
Ya tried out the x cut chain 20in on my 545 upgraded to 3/8 instead of 325 they come with was impressed with that chain went back to sthile or oregan chain

Every thing you said is so true. I’m so over the cookie cutting. Guys sucking up the saw that’s a tenth of a second faster. Get what works for you. Reliable and dealer support.
I'm just a firewood guy but I have saws i play around with but I also have 1 or 2 that I use that just start and cut no bs tinkering with. I get it walt
I use nothing but box chains, typically 3/8, .050, 72, right out of the box. I want LGX but will settle for LPX if that is all I can get, locally. I do run a couple of .325 on my 026 and ms 251, but everything else is 3/8, even my ripping chains, which are 72 LGX reground to 10 degrees. I ain’t spending $50 for a special ripping chain. All of mine are round ground and kept sharp. They will throw chips.
Not being nosey but I'd like to look through though's boxes of saws in the back.

Being a left hander you have to learn to be a right hander but the advantage of this is when your arms get tired you can swap. A saw that plays up near the end of a day is frustrating as hell. One of my pet peeves is the starter rope breaking. I find that people will buy a expensive saw and neglect the maintenance. Especially the electronic saws letting the saw dust build up on the back of the flywheel and interfering with the generator. And the use of sump oil instead of bar oil, It seems to harden seals and any other rubber it comes in contact with causing air leaks and burnt up cylinders. Cheers everyone

Here in Portugal We have now the 565 at the same price of the 572xp- 900$. And the 372xp xtorq, cheaper 100$ than the other 2.
Wich would you recomend?
I have both. Depends on what u cut and how often u cut. If you are a professional logger, a 572. An occasional firewood type, a 565. Have little or no dealer support so have to work on them yourself a 372

Just like it, doesn't always have to be a quantified & logical reason. My 572 sits, the 565 gets the call. I guess some of the reasons that "swayed" me was every one else is all wrapped up in the numbers game about theoretical power and things. The 565 does deliver it's power a little lower in the RPM range. Easily pulls a 28 inch bar, is a little lighter, smaller "profile" , less expensive to purchase but can produce the same type of work. All that added up and I bought one, started using it and after a year haven't wanted to put it down and go for the 572, or even the other saws I have or have access too.

I'll plan this saw cutting hard wood and felling big trees by diametr 50-100cm, and also make longitudinal cuts.

I would certainly consider one as that's what I use and spent my money on. But also a 572 nd now 592/585 should also be considered. What works for me MAY work for others but every one has their own "metrics" about what they like.

Did your lil'red barn 562 popup piston need any mods to work? I noticed the strato ports on mine are smaller than the oem piston. Also the ring is much thinner at 1.12mm .
I thought about turning the ring land to use a oem ring.
Do I need to be concerned about these differences?
Didn't bother with the Strato stuff , just the intake timing. Could prolly get more buy putting time into the Strato's but ....why. It's running really well. The essence was the compression change vs. a few tenth's here and there tweaking the rest.

Different is a better word. I like the 565 for "real" work over the X-Torqs, but while the 365/372 Xtorqs may have had teething issues , they turned into solid saws over the years.

Over rated in terms of price performance, but cool concept with both the 400 and 500i. Have to be a fan of the brand to justify the cost. Time will tell if they last as well as the 461 , 661 etc. An its really hard to beat the old 460's :) The 460's (440's) are to Stihl what the original edition ( Not Xtorq's) 372's are to Husqvarna. How is that :)
Who makes the x-tough standard weight bars? I know Sugihara makes the lightweight.
Believe the bar and chain is their own manufacture.
What is it about trains ?

@@afleetcommand lol I actually like that song. I'm falling for my 543 xp at the moment, what a little ripper that saw is. I know it's not something you could use for your size trees, but it's impressed the hell out of me. It's just the 359 since 2004, has never done anything but work perfectly, I clean it with compressed air and touch up the chain so it's always ready and it certainly does its part. I'm a Husky guy because of that saw.
