Man, I remember looking through my brother's old collections of catalogs. Normally I'd glace at the other themes, but I would always stop at the Adventurers page. There was always something special about those old Lego sets, even though they were before my time. Wish Lego brought this theme back.
This was by far the best Lego theme ! It had a good story , you could build nice B and C models from the set and stay in the same world . 7422 is just a smal set but it was one of my most loved sets
I sadly am not old enough to have experienced these when they came out, but most of my childhood was spent watching Lego Egypt stop motions and obviously these were a major part
Oh, I dreamed of that set so much! It's on the first page of the 1998 catalog I got from a smaller set I have. Back then I never heard of any nearby store with huge sets like that available (I would never be able to afford them anyway, lol), so all I could do was just drool over the pictures and fill the story gaps with my own imagination and theories about the theme's plot.
Henrique Claro Yeah, my aunt & uncle drove me to Toys-R-Us on my birthday back in like 1998 or 99 (was in 1st, maybe 2nd grade) Either way, they spoiled me that day, telling me I could pick out any LEGO set I wanted from the store 😵 I too used to drool over the pictures in those LEGO catalogs, so I was already super aware of the “Pharaoh’s Ancient Ruins” set by the time of this ToysRus trip. I can remember just wanting that set so bad, but nvr actually thinking the day would come. My dream came true that birthday tho when I spotted it on the shelf in its giant box. I remember it costing them 80 bucks, lol, which seemed like a million dollars to me back then
Oh, the memories. Fun fact: the first two sets (the ones with the Shell-logo) are commonly listed as being from 1998 like the rest of the Egyptian line-up, but were actually available by late 1997.
When I was a kid I owned all the audio dramas of Lego Adventurers, back then still on cassettes, and I would listen to them over and over again. It was simply amazing... miss those times...
Why doesn’t Lego make stuff like this anymore? Now it’s either licensed sets or City and Creator sets, and IMO, Creator takes the fun out of it because they’re restricted to certain things, and every set is just a one off, not a theme with a story. They need to have these original sets thought out by the designers themselves. Even though I’m not a kid, these types are so much more magical to me than the others

I remember going to my best friends house as a kid and Vice versa and we’d always be mesmerized by each other handmedown tubs of legos. He loved all my castle and pirate sets and I loved all his adventurers and space sets. We’d end up trading and that’s the only way I ended up with a Johnny Thunder minifig

How many 2010 Lego semi trucks can take all the buildings in the sets and how many car transport trucks can take the cars and what truck can take the plane

Take a brake from licence theme and start brainstorming something original lego. They could even do an Egyptian exploration citty theme.
