Yeah this is CAVE's take on something similar to what a caravan shooter is (like Hudson Soft's caravan shmups). The game is purely kinetic, extremely fast, with pretty fast pacing, expects a lot of macro movement and consistent item collection (which is very much the basis of caravan shooters). I like how the backgrounds are usually dark so the bullets can be colorful like a neon party/disco theme. Dangun Feveron (Fever S.O.S.) is one of my favorite CAVE games and in my eyes one of the most unique and simply fun shmups all around. 7:15, I was the one guy that was expecting ESP RaDe now and told you about Joker Inoue so you'd cover it on your video, it's all good though. I would not have picked Paul Eales clips for the video, but I can understand it's not easy to judge for the untrained eye. By the way don't forget to mention Akira as influence next vid :D
Oh yeah, Akira is definitely mentioned in the next video. I didn't forget about Joker for Esp.ra.de. either. So don't worry, you'll have your fill ;) About Paul, I read the description to make sure it wasn't TAS. But it looks like it still was. I've been trying to keep that in mind ever since someone brought this up to me with my Dodonpachi vid. I think this may just happen time to time so I appreciate your understanding. 2 things I want to ask you. 1. What are marks of tas if it's not listed in the description or titles? 2. If you have any 1cc/ secret boss content (I saw Mushihimesama in your backlog!) I'd gladly credit you! You've been very helpful with criticism and support! I do plan on making another 5 part series, Mushihimesama being part of that!
@@cat-pat8310 you can pretty easily tell something is TAS if they're just moving all over the place instead of routing carefully planned movements, or dodging something not meant to be dodged, like paul eales casually surviving doj hibachi's final for 12 seconds lol. basically the more unnecessary movements they make, the more suspect. in general you should avoid any video or channel with "longplay" in the name since they tend to be TAS 99% of the time. you should also avoid shadowserg and arek the dragon (i'm not sure if the latter actually uses TAS but they're apparently a friend of shadowserg's which automatically makes them suspect). i suggest using the shmup wiki's video index
I really love the enemy ship & boss designs in this one. Seems like a cool game but gosh dang those bullets and your movement are fast af! Which is actually something I love in other shooters, so I'd probably love this game too! Just takes more time to warm up to it and learn how to route the stages.
Your Cave shmup vids are pretty hilarious. Dangun is definitely the hardest for sure. Good luck micro dodging at high speed. Definitely subbed. Keep the content coming 😀
@@cat-pat8310 By the way I just reviewed Zero Wing on Genesis a few days ago. Still new at this sort of thing. Let me know what you think brother th-cam.com/video/x35XY6AY0Dg/w-d-xo.html
Cave wanted to put this game on xbox 360 via XBLA in 2011, but Guwange's digital sales were not satisfactory so they decided to quietly not do anything about it, thank the lord for M2
Definitely. I hope Mushihimesama Futari gets ported to modern consoles again. I have it on the 360 but man I'd love to see that on steam or ps4/5. Still waiting on my copy of Esp.ra.de. Psi from PlayAsia.
oh god why did you use a paul eales clip all of his stuff is TAS except he passes them off as "legit". he didn't even play the original japanese version where the TLB is actually glitched and you can't die to it this game is harder than a cave 1-all but it's nowhere near as hard as a 2-all i recommend everyone to use speed 4. 3 may be easier to handle but 4 will be more rewarding in the long run thank god ikeda wasn't involved, else he would've added a loop and ruined the pacing xd sad there was no mention of the secret cat shot
Yes Dangun Feveron is way more difficult than Donpachi and Dodonpachi (on first loop) 😁
Praying for all the quarters lost in 1998 🙏

HEAVEN IS HERE INSIDE MY SOUL.
your videos are great dude...this is how you do it
Thank you 🙏
So it's a disco planet? Like an entire planet that is gripped with disco fever?
That's the impression I got when I dug this info this up! 😂
Another fantastic vid! ❤
Danka! 🙏
That burp got me lol

Just wait until Ketsui...
I'm low key pretty excited to play that one
I like Dangun, but I feel my reaction time is just too slow for the game. I can't get anywhere with it, no matter how many times I return to it.
I hear you, it's pretty damn fast!
Feveron is just way too fast. Love the bits of background story and interviews you bring into this review.
If I can't be an expert at the game, I may as well offer some development history lol.
