In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.
The further this series has gone on, the more I’m convinced that 4 contestants were contacted through their agents to be on the show and Ardal was kidnapped from his home
You may be on to something. I've always thought, throughout the series, when he laughs his eyes scream, "oh please God someone help me."
That's what agents are for... The contestants only have to agree to be on it.

They werent implying it would be strange for their agents to get them the gig.

I love the whole spectrum of reactions from Ardal taking his trousers off: Sophie's horror, Judy laughing so hard she can't speak, Chris's stunned silence, and Bridget making sure he hasn't had some kind of nervous breakdown. Classic moment.

@@ericadavenport2039 nah i would argue it's just what taskmaster does to you. It depends on the tasks too, like, she was the only one with a working braincell on that make a cocktail task in a previous episode.
I don't think she was entirely wrong, though. It was easy to miss, but the camera did show a long thing of twine on the ground at 26:33 , which probably would have been longer than all the cups put together

@@jimmypatton4982 I heard on the Taskmaster podcast that a member of the show’s production crew had recently had a baby and that it was theirs. Think it was the episode related to this one, but if not, it was when they had Chris Ramsey on as a guest.

@@ShinyHubCaps I think the shooshing was about how loudly Alex was throwing the cans in the barrow. Either than or she covertly pulled a can out of the bag because she'd packed correctly but decided to throw at that moment.
40:50 the moment when the creator of the show realizes that he painstakingly crafted a whole episode in which Judy could also win, but it was all for naught.
They do that already, the tasks aren't presented in the order the members did them. Other series have shown something like the first task they did in a much later episode. The one with the pictures of hands

I love how Alex has relaxed enough over the seasons to start laughing in front of contestants
I suspect he has always been like this, but that it was edited out. in early series you can sometimes see glimpses of Alex giggling but perhaps this wasn't the vibe he wanted for his show so those moments were cut from the aired version.

Sophie is lightyears ahead of most of the other contestants. I think she could have easily won if she didnt care about Judi so much in a lot of episodes.

Eh, I don't know. I've assumed they group the tasks in that way, but in this episode they give themselves a lot of plausible deniability. Judi's shower curtain task was entirely a 50/50 chance of Greg getting it right, since it was clearly between a hand and a foot: If it had gone the other way, Judi wouldn't have had any chance of winning the episode. The prize task is also of course always a wildcard. In episode 5, if Judi had done any better at the prize task, she would have had a chance at winning the episode. She got only 1 point in the prize task, but if she had gotten 2 points she would have been in a tiebreaker with Chris and if she had gotten 3 points she would have won the episode outright. In episode 7, she also had a chance of winning based on the prerecorded tasks, had they been accompanied by stronger prize task and live task performances.
The only task in this episode that showrunners could have seen as guaranteed points for Judi was the snake task. The others were subject to random chance and Greg's whim. If they had, for example, used the water tank task (in which Judi was guaranteed 4 points since three people were disqualified) instead of the "surprising thing" task in this episode, Judi would have been in a tiebreaker with Ardal at the end of the episode even with zero live task points. So I'm sure they group episodes to create certain narratives for each episode, but if they wanted to give Judi a chance at a win there were closer-to-foolproof ways they could have done it.
How could they when most tasks depend on the TM assigning subjective points?

I already watched this series but Judi still never fails to shock me. I thought I'd get tired of her BS but quite the opposite. I look forward to hearing her bs her way through this show.

I think Greg continues to give voice to all our thoughts, when he said that up until that point, he had assumed Ardal was playing a character on Father Ted.
To the filming/editing crew: juxtaposing that shot of the umbrella going up with the TM wind vane after Sophie mentioned Mary Poppins was clever, and you should be very proud of yourselves.

Judi should have actually won this episode and here's why. The rules of the last task say that you will be disqualified if you dont fit your predicted number of cans in the bag. They dont say that you need to fit exactly your predicted number in the bag. Judi fit her 30 predicted cans in the bag, she just also happened to fit in two other cans. Regardless, her 30 cans were in the bag. This means Judi should have gotten the points as well as the episode win
She was shorted in almost every task of this episode and Chris was given the edge I think.
The fish heads genuinely surprised Alex...he was probably confused by the baby but people Chris's age are the most likely to have babies, so, not that surprising. He should've gotten 4 and her 5.
The fact that Chris's snake didn't even have the snake head...so it was technically just a long stack of cups should've docked him at least a point in my opinion.
Also in my opinion, the fact that Judi, Chris and Sophie all tricked Greg in the body part task should've got Judi 5 points also; because she tricked him into thinking it was her leg as well (same size body part as Chris and Sophie).
But that's TM for you, the point system is largely subjective.

I want a very extensive compilation of Ardal, what a guy. His humor is dryer than Alex was in the task of season 6 where Russel and Alice dried him with a hairdryer and gave him dry gin
I truly don’t know how I ended up on Taskmaster TH-cam (probably my British wrestling channels), but I have definitely enjoyed the newfound joy it has brought me.
For 8 episodes, I was rooting for Chris, but the way Sophie backed Judi in the final task made me switch to Team Sophie.

The cans were brutal. The hardest thing on this show has to be understanding the task quickly enough before you start.
Something tells me in that final task, there was a trick that nobody caught.
I'll go a few extra lines to bury it behind a "see more", so let me just say that the surprise task, the most surprising thing would be if that baby is not somehow related to Mr. Ramsey.
I bet those bags have an expansion zip at the bottom of the bag, and all 55 cans would fit if you expanded it.
You could have stamped on the cans to flatten them, Alex hints on this when he remarked that they're all wearing boots.
@@CaesarTjalbo I thought it was simply because the cans are actually filled with something and could do a number on your toes (at least they sound pretty heavy when landing in his wheelbarrow). Also means stomping on them would get very messy, I mean, I know how crazy Taskmaster participants might go, but spraying your neighbour on stage with the contents might be a bit too far
Empty cans sound different when falling into a wheel barrel and the ground. Also they handled them as if they were filled. (weightwise i mean) So i doubt that stamping your foot on them would have flattened them. Full cans can take a lot without bursting. And having someone like Sophie or Bridget stamping on a can in my opinion would deform them a little at most, but not break them open or flatten them.

While I have loved every Taskmaster series I have particularly enjoyed this one. Always been an Ardal fan but I really enjoy all of them.

I’m shocked for the final task that no one tried to crush the cans, as I assume that’s what the big tan boots were for.
Those are steel-toed boots so they don’t drop the cans on their toes. The cans are unopened; they can’t crush them because they still have stuff in them, which is why they sound so heavy being thrown into the wheelbarrow.
Sad it’s almost over…soo going to miss Chris’ belly laugh!! ❤

43:08 - OK, but Judy was actually robbed. She predicted she could get 30 cans in her bag, and she did, which is all the rules asked for. They didn't say you couldn't go over, just that the predicted number of cans were in the bag, which they were. Like, if you bet you could fit a sofa in your flat, and then got that sofa in the flat, you wouldn't lose the bet because, sorry, you also had other things in your flat!
Greg Davies asking someone if they have a sink at their house so he can wash his hands, and then telling them off because they actually have multiple sinks.
