My grandsons introduced me to VoicePlay with this song several months ago. I fell head first down the rabbit hole and haven't surfaced yet. I show up for VoicePlay reactions and Geoff's (bass) solo channel releases. They are all so very talented. They are also 100% independent by choice to maintain creative control of their work and their lives.

- MIracle of Sound is the guy who originally recorded Vahalla Calling. - J None (the rapper) is a former member of the group. He's currently serving in the US Navy so can only perform with the group occasionally.

J None was a member of VoicePlay until the US Navy recruited him for his vocal talents. That was a bit over 3 yrs and he comes down from Wash DC to sing with VP when he can. VoicePlay has a large catalog of Halloween videos if that's something you might enjoy. Remember that Geoff has his own channel as well where he sings but not acapella. Lots of good stuff there.

As soon as I saw your background pictures and helmet a smile came to my face. I'm a Steelers, Pirates and Penguins fan. I wasn't born in Pittsburgh but I lived there for 8 years as a kid and will always consider that my hometown. The first memories I have of my life is when we pulled up in front of our new house there. That was in 1962.

You picked a heckuva piece for you to react to first. This one is a bit of a showstopper. I thoroughly enjoyed your reaction and subscribed in hopes that you’ll cover more in the future. Since it is the spooky season you might check out some of their Halloween related items. It’s their favorite holiday and they try to release something every year. In addition Geoff has a couple of songs on his own channel as well including Monster Mash which is something I grew up listening to. I had the 45! I like that J is staring out across the water at the beginning, especially since he was recruited by the US Navy to sing for them. The rap was added and some hints to his being in the military (ops, etc). Eli (bald rock god) did the amazing backgrounds using Unreal Engine which is used in filmmaking to provide digital backgrounds. The only real pieces in that set are the tables and benches. Even the door that J walks through was pure CGI. (Layne was responsible for the creaking door sound.) It was filmed at a studio with immense (Full wall!) LED screens. The music in the outro is the karaoke track. The percussion and background vocals and it could be a piece on its own because it’s also gorgeous.

I have reacted to Geoff twice I think and he is spectacular. His voice is unbelievable and I love that deep deep voice. I really enjoy the A cappella , I had never heard it before until last year when someone requested Pennatonix, and I have done Home Free also. I plan on doing much more of them in the future. Unless you've got top of the line earbuds, you really need headphones to fully listen to VoicePlay, because some of Geoff's bass notes are almost too low to hear otherwise. I grew up with constant ear infections so feel your pain, though. I like the TV idea, that's neat. 💙

Fun fact: I was 23 when Thriller came out! (yes my profile pic is about 5 or 6 yrs out of date! LOL) But VP does almost every genre of music and does it amazingly...ok, well they have yet to do medieval or early renaissance polyphony or opera per se (*my* specialties) but I wouldn't put it past them! Another fun one they do is Seven Nation Army...SOO much better than the original! Also Black Hole Sun is super cool.
Watching a television channel today they had 80s music playing and they played it’s my life by talk talk I believe no doubt covered it and let’s hear it for the boy by Denice Williams

Near the start of the song, Geoff holds a b0 subharmonics for 15 seconds. For reference that’s the 3rd to last key on a full size keyboard
