Fanatec setup here, too. Shoes arent a big deal until you instantly realize they are.lol If they make a pair of driving "house shoes," I'll take 2 pair! Just like a 3 pedal setup in a real car, the wrong soles can be a detriment..foot slip off the brake, etc. Thicker shoes are no good for heel toe etc either. If you're racing open wheel and strictly 2 pedals while left foot braking only, it's not as big of a deal

Don't try to drive them in the same way, try to get your own driving tactic for each layout instead of just applying one tactic to everything. Then ofcourse your driving style will differ per car too, for example the lancia stratos drives way different then other rwd cars because of it's short wheel base and mid engine layout. Have you ever heard of heel and toe-ing on downshifting? That's there to match revs so that you don't get any engine braking when you release the clutch.
Yes you can use it to help steer the car weight transfer etc. Example you are on straight high speed and you have in front of you light corner and you dont need to slow down or slow a little bit on low speeds you enter it but on high speed on loose surface you can slip and crash so you need to cut corner but if you cant do it for some reason like rocks or tree you use left foot breaking to get weight transfer to front and more grip to front so rearend gets less grip you turn before the corner front goes where you need and rear slide and here is all about you are now on start of the corner car pointed where need to go on slide you let breakes off on full throttle and fly trough the corrner.
Because racing and rally games is (should be) about emerging yourself in the feeling of actually racing. Having a steering wheel and pedals is the only way I get any pleasure of actually playing these types of games. A controller completely kills the experience.

why do you press gas when u shift down ?!
It's called heel-toe shifting. You usually do it in order to keep the revs up when downshifting, thus ending up with greater acceleration.

This guy can't drive. You only use your right foot for both throttle and brake, and your left stays on the clutch
Wrong, most professional racing drivers will left foot brake to settle the car where there doesn't need to be a gear change, only a touch of brake
