I got one of these today, this knocks the spots off of the competition, excellent quality and its the proper version (rom) would love Double Dragon and Shinobi and also Gauntlet.
We love ours. This is the game my wife and I used to play when we were first married 25 years ago on PS1.

I want to get one of these sooo bad. It was the first arcade machine I ever played. One other thing that Taito did with Bubble Bobble is they added a bunch of secret codes to enter on the highscore screen letting you get bonus items on starting a new game.
What are the secret codes?? And what items do they give you? Thanks in advance of you can help me.

Great Video!! My childhood game. We spend hours after school playing in our local store, on 1 quarter. skillful game.
I do like these mini arcade cabs, I just think its a pity we have 2 different scales with these being 1/4 scale and the New Wave cabs being 1/6th. Would have been nice to keep them all at the same scale so they fit together perfectly.
I agree it would be nice to have all in a uniform scale, but with these mini arcades being produced by completely different companies it's obvious why they would want to differ their products from one another.
I’d be an extremely happy man with a quarter scaled Mr Do!, Smash T.V., Paperboy, Jackal, Front Line, Time Pilot ‘84, Gauntlet, and Tron.

The original arcade version of Bubble Bobble is going to be one of 40 games on the Taito Egret II Mini that Taito is going to release in March 2022.
This is my first numskull 1/4 arcade purchase. I have 2 minor complaints when I opened it up. The joysticks readily shake left to right like if it feels cheap. If you move the machine or shake it slightly the joysticks shake easily like something is loose.
My 1/6 scale dragon's lair joystick in comparison is solid vs these on the bubble bobble.
Also my 2nd joystick brand new came with gunk plastered all over the metal part below the ball so maybe that's just mine that was.
Other than those 2 minor complaints, the 1/4 arcade is pretty neat and works well and I really like the workmanship they put into it.

I hadn’t known about TFT or IPF for screens. Is IPF closer to a CRT for even brightness? And, are they used in any minis by any company? I have Dig Dug, and I think not seeing that familiar slight curve and brightness of a CRT is about the only point that makes me aware these aren’t actually shrunken-down cabs!
Looks amazing as all of their products do. Great review! If they ever make a Simpsons or X-men cabinet I would be all over it. I’m sure all these companies are moving that direction now.
Anything 90s arcades is my sweet spot, I'm always really hoping we see things from that era released in the quarter scale arcade line.

I don't believe Amazon has this one listed yet, typically they have been the last US retailer to get inventory in the past of these machines.

Though I'm a fan of the side art on this recreation (I didn't realize there was never a dedicated cabinet for Bubble Bobble, nice info!), I'm glad that Numskull always pays attention to exacting detail on their machines. I have both their Ms. Pac-Man and Pac-Man and absolutely love them! For Bubble Bobble, however, I opted for the My Arcade version, not to play, but to display. I like how My Arcade did their artwork and it really celebrates the extreme cuteness that this title exudes.
Thanks as always for showing these off. As I don't have room for them all, it's nice to live vicariously through your pickups :)

Should have known COOLTOY would have this review up so soon. I just got mine today and love it. It seems Numskull is no longer making Track & Field though, as it no longer appears on their website. Looking forward to Space Invaders later this year however.
Track & Field got put on the back burner because they are currently unable to secure the rights to the original cabinet artwork. I believe they are circling the wagons and trying to determine alternative options they may have to move forward with releasing that machine still.

After the canceled track and field there's not too much left to be released for the line. I hope they have some announcements soon though
Awesome! I was looking forward to you reviewing this. I really want this. I’m hoping GameStop restocks because the shipping to the US from Just Geek is steep.
GameStop preorders didn't last long, but I imagine GameStop and the other US retailers like Walmart and Amazon will have some stock available within the next few weeks. That's typically how it's been in the past, GameStop and JustGeek (GeekStore) get first dibs on inventory, then everyone else.

Yea, Nintendo is just so hard to deal with in terms of their gaming IP. I bet if anything, Nintendo decides to release their own mini arcade product soon enough given that other companies have already established there is a market and demand for the product.
You just cost me a lot of money. 😁 As for games I'd like to see... Joust, Ghosts & Goblins & Donkey Kong.

It is on indefinite hold right now due to inability to secure the licensed rights to the original cabinet artwork
I wouldn’t mind one. I love this game. There’s no point in buying this. It’s basically $250 for this but the arcade 1up capcom classics is $699. The collector in me says I should buy this and cherish this gem for years to come.

At the starting entry point, I'll rather get the egret 2 which has all the bubble bobble games plus rainbow Island and puzzle bobble 2.
This is the first numskull quarter arcade that has piqued my interest a lot! Do these sell out or do they tend to sell them constantly?
I had no idea there was even an ending to this game, lol, but I’m sad that the “true” ending is them turning into humans. They’re way cooler as dragons :D
typically they are in stock for a good bit through one retailer or another, when they do sell out, they have gone back and released some more quantities in smaller waves a few months later.

Great review. Great game. But I can't see myself playing on a 5 inch screen. Your hand looked uncomfortable playing. Easy pass on these 1/4 size arcades.

So cool...wish these were 1/6 scale like the replicades, the size on these are a little large for their purpose IMO, but they are very cool nonetheless. Want this, Ms. Pac, and Galaga from them mostly.
