that fighting for the glory of the gym comment was profound for me.
It also gets very boring at times, mid belts.
I’m excited. Why’s that? WE HAVE AN APPAREL SPONSOR
I'm an old bastard, I get crushed regularly. But I still keep coming back, I am told I'm getting better, I'm satisfied with small wins.
Best advice I've ever been given is "Ask yourself if you could beat you from X months ago". The answer will almost certainly be yes. That's how you know you're getting better.
For me I lost the fun and motivation I think due to the fact I was approaching my brown belt. In a way I think I wanted to stay at purple. I didn’t want to go into those higher belts. Probably due to some expectation I put on myself. I even found my self avoiding gradings. The two weeks prior and after grading dates in the hopes of avoiding it. Hard to explain.
My old coach still messages to ask how my trainings going. Highly recommend the Fight Club in Molendinar.
At the beginning of Your vid. Not everybody wants to look like a rainbow on the mats lol. Just saying. I like it low key
I can't hear anything you fellas are saying. The wave in Joey's hair is speaking volumes that is deafening.
Do you ever wish you’d encounter a real life scenario of using your BJJ to protect someone from harm? Sometimes I just want something else to show for all the grind other than just the personal journey
not really, I carry a gun and hope I never have to use it, same mindset. I really don't want to risk getting hurt because of someone else giving me no other choice.
@@badxradxandy so if a man is pushing and slapping a helpless woman outside of Walmart, you are going to shoot the guy? That’s not the best use of lethal force. I’m referring to scenarios that don’t require lethal force but do require a level of force where BJJ would come into play
@@Arcadianx98 Not my problem.
@@badxradxandy ok what about the a-hole uncle who’s had too much to drink and starts pushing his wife. You gonna shoot him too? You really having a hard time imagining scenarios between killing and controlling
@@Arcadianx98 Why do you care so much?
I try to find a place where feeling good and feeling bad are both reasons to train
