Great video. Two questions: What type of things would you be able to use his technique for? And also I was wondering I want to make a film in the summer, what type of things could you use after effects before in post? Thanks
+James Sykes just a creative effect, for example check one directions - you and I music video for a similar effect (although you would need a slightly different method)
Thanks, the png export skips the need to roto freeze through each frame. Very close in regards to how long it might take but the png made more sense for me.
i tried rotoscoping but that png isn't just the cut out it's the whole background too so every time that section comes up it just stays on that frame since it's on top of my footage. any tips?
Can you always put in the description the videos that you used? I want to recreate the tutorial, but i don't have a great camera or content to edit It would be nice
Would a easier way to shot this effect with high res from a more far away standpoint or wider lens and then scale in and do some digital panning if you don't wanna work with the tracking, I always have bad experiences with that tool 😂
Sorry I don't think my question was clear. I want to do a speed ramping affect where it slows down - I've watched your vid on this :-) but also freeze frame... Would I slow the clip down first with time remapping and then follow the directions from this video?
And anoter question, I want to import a video into After Effects but just the audio so I put it all the way down so I just hear the audio but then it goes all crazy cutting some pieces of repeating stuff changing the pitch and the speed, I think I have to convert the video to mp3 but I don't know how, can you tell me how to if you know?
I followed all your operations step by step three times ,what confused me is that I never success in " save as file" which aways came out with a scene picture not that one we need which only have a person and alpha BG(I do whatever you did in tutorial, every steps are same to you ). What's wrong with me ?help me figure out
When i try to export the frame it doesnt go transparent whatever I do, Also after using the brush and previewing the clip its frozen all the way until like 2 seconds before I actually froze the frame, at that point it creates a clone that enters the clone if you know what I mean...
hi justin, do you think you can do a tutorial of how to do the effects for "Big Sean - Sacrifices ft. Migos" video? its around like 40 seconds and throughout the video
3d tracking would fail to analyze a clip with panning motion like this. 3d motion would be great however for a clip where the camera is moving forward or backwards through a space which is why I might make a part 3
Do you mean in an image or a video? If it's an image, you can just duplicate the original layer and then mask out the object, and then keyframe the position of the first layer (the background layer) to zoom in or out. I'm sure this will work for a video too if your object is super still, however if it's moving then you'll have to get Justin's advice on that haha

Thankyou Justin. Your tutorials are so laid out and easy to understand.
You are a legend Justin. Thank you so much

Now that was a dope trick both your AE edit and the skateboard dude's extreme stunt. Nice!
Thanks for this Justin! Great like always!!
Super helpful Justin! Where do you learn these transitions? Do you study at university?

Great tutorial. Exporting as png wasn't necessary though. you could have parented the masked video 2 to the null object instead of the png

Amazing video as always Keep it up man ♥
Thank you ♥
This is awesome i see part 3 is a bit more advance nice work bro!!!!
It would be a slightly different method using 3d tracking instead of 2d
Amazing tutorials as always❤️
Thanks. I have been looking for how to do this. 👍🏾
Thanks for making this!!! Excited to try it out :D
Thank you very much!
This was such a great tutorial man. Thanks a bunch bud!
Glad you enjoyed!
thanks for tutorial Justi
Very nice tutorial!!! is it also possible to do this in Premiere?
GREAT TUT! I'll use this idea THANKS!!!.
Thanks!
It would be a cool concept to allow the viewers to download the footage you're using so they could possibly work along with you!
Thanks I'll keep that in mind going forward!
Very informative, thank you!
justin, you think is best buy a 700d with 18-135 (660€) or a 70d with 18-55 (860€)??
Awesome video!
I LOVE YOU BRO THANK YOU SO MUCH ✊🏻
THANKS ✊🏻

Justin, you are kiling it.
Thank you!

Can you do another video like this but include time re-mapping as well?
Hi check my tutorials on boomerang and speed ramping effects
Sorry I don't think my question was clear. I want to do a speed ramping affect where it slows down - I've watched your vid on this :-) but also freeze frame... Would I slow the clip down first with time remapping and then follow the directions from this video?
i think with out tracking cmera we cam do right
helpful video thanks bro
Hey, are you the camera man in all these little videos that you use the tutorial or do you get it from a website?
+Joetrickymagic 1 about half and half not for this clip
ah ok
And anoter question, I want to import a video into After Effects but just the audio so I put it all the way down so I just hear the audio but then it goes all crazy cutting some pieces of repeating stuff changing the pitch and the speed, I think I have to convert the video to mp3 but I don't know how, can you tell me how to if you know?

Hey can you please link the raw footage so we can follow along?
can you make the premiere version?
When i try to export the frame it doesnt go transparent whatever I do, Also after using the brush and previewing the clip its frozen all the way until like 2 seconds before I actually froze the frame, at that point it creates a clone that enters the clone if you know what I mean...
same problem
you have to hid the original video line if you look at 4:05 you can see that he hid the original video when exporting. this worked for me
@@user-xj7uz2bo9j bro thank you for pointing this out
Yeah man!!, after effects ♥♥ , t hank u justin!! :)
what do you do if there's nothing distinct to track on
hi justin, do you think you can do a tutorial of how to do the effects for "Big Sean - Sacrifices ft. Migos" video? its around like 40 seconds and throughout the video
I've got a lot of requests on this one
Justin Odisho im the person from twitter that asked !
BIG SEAN -SACRIFICES next please
Hey justin can i do this in adobe premiere pro?Is there something like camera tracking or motion tracking in adobe premiere?
Check my premiere pro version of this tutorial
I already did but in that camera is not moving with subject it is still
Dope!
Please show us tutorial for Drawing Transition like the one Sam Kolder used in his 2016 video
Why not use the 3d tracking tool?
3d tracking would fail to analyze a clip with panning motion like this. 3d motion would be great however for a clip where the camera is moving forward or backwards through a space which is why I might make a part 3
Justin Odisho perfect explanation
do you know howt to make the back of the object looks like zoom out or zoom in , but the object still normal
Do you mean in an image or a video? How do I top my last two videos? I know! Combine both of them!
Got 'em!
Hi, Can you do an AJ Tracey - Buster cannon video breakdown, the effects are crazy!, thanks bro
Thanks for the suggestion I have seen it
Wicked
Thanks for everything jailbird from insta ✌
Thanks ✌
Justin. I like your name
is a 60fps video enough to do this?
Roman Andrei you can do it on 24/30 but if you want the still to appear longer than you need slow motion
Hey Justin I made a video after seeing all your tutorials! Check it out and give me a feedback :)
