We really enjoy your videos Peter. You need not go out of state, Wisconsin has many very nice and well maintained county campgrounds. We have found many we have enjoyed. Keep up the great work.

Great video. We’ve been to a lot of SPs as a family but still have many to go to and favorites to go back to. Kohler Andrae is our family favorite. Governor Dodge is great as well as Devils Lake though we haven’t taken kids there for a hike yet. I haven’t hiked there in years. We did a quick stop at Wildcat and enjoyed those high views. Copper Falls was fun. Smelled bear scat there so I think there was a bear nearby. We’ve been to many others but those are favorites. Both Kettle Moraines are nearby so those we frequented most.

I love the hikes at devil's lake.
However when I showed by wife a photo of devils doorway she recalled some bad memories. Being dragged up the rocks as a kid has ruined her for hiking.

Your videos were a Godsend for planning my annual fall camping trip last October, although interestingly enough I managed to book into the only site not covered on your campground tour video of the park I stayed at (presumably occupied at the time of filming). Worked out just fine though. Thanks for the good work.

I really enjoy your videos and have found them so helpful and a great resource! How about Northern Highland American Legion State Forest. I live here - the area has so much to do and so many campgrounds, it would keep you busy for a long time. I’m sure you already know this but wanted to throw in WI ideas before everyone gets you to branch out (which will be cool too). Thanks for the vids!

Fellow cheesehead! You explored state parks in our native home state the way we're doing road trips to see the Brew Crew!
Not sure I'd be about hearing gunshots while enjoying a state park...but that's just me.
So much of this state that we regret not seeing: Particularly near the Mississippi, like you mentioned.
Lake Michigan had ridiculously high water levels last time we went to the beach before we moved. The sand at the beach I grew up with in Milwaukee County...gone.
    We'll wander with you!

    • @SconnyWandering
      @SconnyWandering  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

It's a little unnerving to hear gunshots when put on a trail.
It has happened to me more than once when near the edge of a park.
But a range at a park put me off.

We love your videos! They are so very helpful! We always use your campground tours to determine which sites are best for our family and our camper! Have you considered doing any videos for the U.P. state parks? We are going this summer for 10 days, and are missing your videos to help determine which site to book! No one does justice to campground tours compared to you! Thank you so much!

Interstate State Park is the only one I can add at the moment (don't think I heard you call that one out). That one for hiking and scenery, is a terminus of the ice age trail. Then also Burnett Island State Park for water front camping north of Eau Claire. Otherwise you hit all the other gems that I'm currently aware of

Very informative video. Thank you very much! Would you please make a more basic video about camping in General by covering how to book, what equipment one needs, how make sure one is in a safe place with family, especially tenting? Also if I want to go there for Kayaking, having my own Kayak, should I book, or be aware of parking availability and water access points? How the states park Marina works? Am I allowed to use their ramp and parking for water access? Also can I go to a state park without booking if I won't be staying for the night? How advance you generally book?
    Thanks,

I live in Rhinelander, and I love playing "Disc Golf", we have a few established courses within 5-10 miles of town that I play. But I really enjoy going to various parks and using my Rangefinder + portable practice basket to setup my own personal 9 or 18 hole courses in City Parks, etc...I cannot seem to find any information online as to what size all the State Parks are as far as "How many Acres" each park is? I try to find parks that are a minimum of 12-15 acres in size

This is the best disk golf course I have seen.
State parks are usually 100's of acres but most are impassable. They prefer you stay on established trails.
