I want to learn the bass. But i already play the guitar and i dont want to pay both lessons. So i wanted to ask you if you know a mobile app or a website to learn the bass. Thx
I like all the songs in this video! I didn't realize this wasn't the case everywhere in the world, but where I'm from, 'tragic' can be used in a positive way. For example, someone who LOVES cricket could be called a 'cricket tragic'. It's not a negative thing at all.
@@BecomeABassist Ahh.. I was wondering if it was something like that. I think the connotation that comes across in the U.S. when you say a bassline is tragically '80s is that it is badly dated and hasn't aged well at all...maybe even a bit cringe-worthy and cheesy. That said, I do hesitate to speak for everyone in the States so maybe it was just me who seemed to take it that way :D
80's are still the peak of mankind achievements, definetly NOT a tragic period! Nice lesson!
Agreed. Especially when we saw how crappy the 90's were.
@Punch Down King Very few things show their age from the 1980's.
It was truly a Golden Era!
There were some great bass lines in 80's music. Thriller, the album was full of them. Title track, Billy Jean, Beat it, PYT.
Oh man - just about everything on that album is incredible.
I teased my hair so much it left me...
Me too. Too much aqua net.
Michael Jackson's Thriller. The 1st bass riff I ever learned. What a treat!!
You could have used "quintessentially" instead of "tragically". Thanks for more bass fun, brother!
Thanks Luke. This one was fun. Brought back some memories. And I like how Seinfeld just squeaked in there.
Great! Bass line number five - it s my favorite shape.
Sledgehammer bass line. Gun!
What do you mean Luke? I dress like that every day. Great stuff as always.
Bahaha!!! Thanks for checking it out @John Dayton!
Solid! Pls also do some Level 42 .
Do a part 2
Ooo! That technique on no.3 🔥
Fiyaaaahh!!! Haha!
Is the tuning out? 🤔
So, to be clear, the bass lines of these songs were all recorded using a synthesizer instead of a bass guitar?
As far as I know @Scott Kretsch, yes.
I lack the slap for the seinfeld theme, but I’ll at least have the notes for it 😁 thanks
I want to do a cover of blue Monday with a drummer and maybe 5 basses
That would be awesome.
Post the link here if you do it - I’d check it out!
AH yes, parachute pants and Members Only jackets with the sleeves slid halfway up your arm.
Oh man - how did I forget to mention parachute pants?!?!

I mean, you could check out all the lessons on this TH-cam channel or download any of the free resources from becomeabassist.com/free-resources
@@BecomeABassist thanks
You're there.
Dude if you already play guitar, bass shouldn't be a problem. There is so many lesson videos on TH-cam, that it should be easy.
Nice
video
Brilliant comment. You have not even watched the clip. Pathetic.
@@TheLovie999 I watched enough of the video to know it'll be good...
Thanks for checking it out @pickbassguitar!
The fourth one I shall practise.
Difficult...
It’s a belter for sure!
Most if these lines sound better on a real bass with no effects anyway. A good bass line is a good bassline regardless.
Agreed!
Yes.
Was hoping for some Queen
Radio gaga?
as soon as you put names on things all the lemmings come in, and innovation is gone.
I'm not sure what you mean @genkidama7385. Could you explain what you mean for us?
@@BecomeABassistThey mean if you teach people how to imitate it, they all will...
The 80’s were a strange time??
Dude.... 😒
Dude...I'm not sure what you mean with this. Are you saying that they *weren't* a strange time?
Strangely amazing times
You say tragically '80s as if "Blue Monday", "Thriller", and "Don't You Want Me" are bad songs, but they're not bad songs.
