Welcome back to the channel!
With 90% of our chickens left behind, the quest for food is growing rapidly and I'm starting to struggle to keep the weight up, big time to say the least. Game plan is to do some looting, see if we can get some heavy calorie hitters before pressing along to the farm we stole some chickens from and getting some good dinner.
I'm still yet to find a Gigamart or any kind of supermarket for that matter so dry store food is basically non existent at this point and it's a big struggle! Hoping a little drive around, big explorations and looting will change that but for now we'll have to make do with what we have!

If they’re going to have the big stores looted there should be more barricaded homes or bandit camps. Or you find random stashes

Maybe you should make a gate for your base. Don't forget to look at the fields for crops and grain. An episode or two ago your character walked past a whole field of ripe corn while complaining about how hungry he was.
Not a bad idea, get a gate and keep it safe! As for the crops, I don’t know how I keep missing them, just not looking out for them I guess but I’ll keep eyes peeled! Thanks man
@Vulrhund Tall double gates are a bit buggy atm. Depending on where you are standing it can consume the materials and not build the gate. You need to be standing where it is built essentially. It's hard to explain, I'll do a recording and share it in the discord tonight.
@@kathleenconibear4929 Not sure if the large fields are harvestable, I tried one and got no indication it could be harvested, but there is smaller fields that are harvestable earlier in the game, I think that window of opportunity has passed tho, they die and rot if not harvested, and don’t self seed.
I keep my rooster in a separate hutch/Livestock zone and only take the hens to him when I need chick's. That way I can breed the chickens as I need them and the roosters sort each other out!
That’s what I was planning to do from the second eruption of chickens, separate pen for each makes so much sense and just shift things between as and when needed

21:00 you actually can control it, if i remember correctly, foxes can get chickens only if you dont close the hutch door at night
I did see that but that feels a little too far in the unbalanced side, a random event could wipe out the whole flock. I like the illness idea, something you can treat or isolate unaffected animals from, feels a little more controllable

Yeah id say bigger than both of those, maybe not in number of buildings but in area definitely, its very open and spread out, didn't like the place when B42 dropped but its growing on me.
@ Yeah I also meant in area. Not in buildings. Muldraugh and West point are somewhat compact. Irvington is just massive in size, but all very spead out.
Also the town is just in a sort of awkward shape (idk if you have ever looked at the online map)
@@Drie_Kleuren Yep I use the interactive map, kinda wish I hadn’t, and just explored the county on my own, but I’m just too curious to see the B42 differences.😆
Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it or not yet or if you've already realised, but you can wear the leather water canteen, rather than just having it sitting in your main inventory. Then it will take up less space.
You know what I knew it, equipped it, must’ve taken it off at some point and forgot to put it back on! The main reason I took it was to save space with wearable water but there we go :D
Barbed wire can be used for weapon modifications and also to make a barbed wire fence.

Well that shed farm will die out eventually, there is no renewable water, you'll need to take some troughs outside to let them rain fill and also get them a grassed area so they don't starve and then extend the farming area to cover it.
I left the gate open so they have full rein to go wherever they like so they should die out in theory, we hope anyway!
@@Vulrhund Good man, thats what ive been doing. Letting all the chickens free at the Ekron egg farm caused havoc tho, pre patch they bred like crazy and there was 100 of eggs on the ground and chicks everywhere the next time i went past. But you know exactly what i mean.🤣

You can control the chickens getting munched by foxes...kinda. you shut the door to the coop each night, that stops the predators getting to them.
I did see that was a thing but also seems a little unbalanced from what I could tell, if you don’t close your hutch they just get wiped, means stray ones will also serve the same fate and could leave the late game almost impossible. Maybe I need to look into it more but that was my thoughts on it
@ Yeah it’s a pain, forget to shut the door one time and it’s carnage.
When you 2x the speed to a location are you just pressing walk to + F2 or is there a shortcut?
Exactly that, walk to + F4 and you’ll be flying through the world!

In the first few weeks of the game, i stopped and let all the animals out of the animal trailers i found in car wrecks on the roads, then after a while, all i found were dead ones, they must have starved to death stuck in the trailer. 😟 Thats how i ended up with 8 tiny piglets in one game.😄
