Grew up in The Falls as the locals refer to it, live just a couple minutes down the road from there now, nice aerial views, you did a nice job with the video, thanks for sharing the video, I would like to add some info about Cuyahoga Falls, it's a very safe city and family oriented, rare to have a serious crime in the falls, it's just not heard of here, it's safe to take walks and let kids play outside, The Falls is known for very quick police response times if they are called for anything, usually police response arrival time is just a couple minutes literally, events on Front street are safe to go to with high police presence, since Front street has been opened up to 2 way now traffic moves through pretty quickly, once you learn the Falls area you can pretty much cut through just about all side streets to get across the city, Cuy. Falls has a huge memorial day parade that runs from 13th street at Bolich middle school all the way down to Oakwood street ending inside the Oakwood cemetery with a veteran memorial following right after inside the Cemetery and 2 low F !5 flyovers. Cuyahoga falls mascot is The Black Tigers, The Cuyahoga falls marching band is a large high school band and has been known as one of the best, the marching band is considered The pride of Cuyahoga Falls.if you're into sports you can catch the Cuy. Falls high school football team during home games at the high school stadium where you can see the Marching band in all it's glory, fun activity if you have little kids. another nice thing about the Falls is that everything is really close, shopping, schools, Restaurants, gas stations, pharmacy's and area hospitals with The falls having Western reserve hospital on State road, formerly known as Cuyahoga Falls General hospital, a lot of events in the warmer months on Front street with live bands on Friday nights.The Falls used to have River boat cruises but I think that now has been stopped but you can still enjoy the Burning river adventures with Kayaking & Canoeing and Float the river with River Rafting & Tubing. lots of fun family activities.

I really love Cuyahoga Falls! For me, I actually like that it's fairly densely populated - it's a good mix of urban and suburban with the good parts of both. Also, it's insane how much Downtown improved in recent years! I remember it used to be a ghost town but now it's one of the best main streets in Ohio in my opinion.
Most definitely, downtown continues to change too! Definitely a great spot for people in the portage and summit county area.

I’m moving to North East Ohio, and have fallen in Love with The Falls (through videos and pictures)! There is a house for sale I have my eye on. I hope my property in Washington State sells quickly so we can get on the road. I’m excited, I’ve never lived anywhere except the West Coast!

Lived in the Falls for 30 years . Great place to live. Hardly drive over 20 minutes to anything. We have 4 seasons. Our church family has been our life line. My husband spends a lot of time in the parks with his camera.
thanks for that info Susan! everything really is within 20 minutes which is very convenient. The more and more I've been exploring the parks, I've been doing the same thing as your husband, taking all kinds of photos and videos, its very pretty.

I grew up in Cuyahoga Falls, and since have lived in Dallas, Orlando, and Atlanta.I had to laugh at the traffic in Cuyahoga Falls being somewhat bad. I miss the Falls. What a wonderful place.

It's a nice friendly place but cold winters.
Cuyahoga Falls annex North Hampton which no one wanted who lived there . They brought in a lot of crime from Akron and Cleveland.I've been robbed since this happen.The Police seem to not care,pointless calling them ,they show up ,but they just forget the crime ever happen..

No, Cuyahoga falls is about 30 minutes south, located in summit County. They get the name because it’s located along the Cuyahoga River.

I have no choice I have to move there next week for five months and I’m really having problems finding short term housing. I don’t like bugs I don’t like all dingy places however I don’t want to spend a fortune since this is short term if it works out it will turn into a three-year position but that will be in nine months so I just need some thing for 5 to 6 months right now where do I block Airbnb has been horrible they are asking for the same amount of money that I rent my place in the Bay Area for, which is ridiculous.
I’d recommend Hudson, Boston Heights or Kent to you.
I lived in Cleveland for 40 years and now am back in Cuy. Falls. This traffic is NOTHING compared to Cleveland.
Just a lot of lights in Cuyahoga falls so worst case your sitting at a light for a few minutes, especially around front street if a train comes.

just depends what you're looking for. What are you looking for? I like Cuyahoga falls, Kent, Stow; Mogadore and Brimfield are a bit more "country" but nice places.

thats not so bad- when they were still making tires they used to call it 'smellet'.....if you got more than a block away from thacker's- the air got thick real quick!
I've lived here for pretty much my whole life. I am pushing 40 soon and I was 3 when we moved to the Falls.
They are many racist/homophobic/transphobic people that live here and it has become a melting pot for several different nationalities. I get tired of seeing the hate. But my rent is cheap and my parents are still in the area.

I’m a physician being forced to move there next week on short notice for 5 months. Is there a place to rent where I can avoid the racist, transphobic people? I need a clean, not old place and I’m willing to pay but I don’t want to pay San Fran prices which I’m finding on Airbnb right now.

that is absolute nonsense. i graduated from falls high in 1975 and we had black students in the vocational program even back then and there were numerous students in my class who were of hispanic and/or asian descent- we were all friends. the black students in the 70's always ate lunch at the same tables but i have heard that is no longer the case. to be honest with you- my first two jobs were in urban areas of akron and i was glad to be with different people for a change. i live here in san diego now- a real-life mixing pot right near the border. there is good and bad in all of us and you learn to see only that and not unfairly pass judgement on people as you are doing.
@@tommurphy4307I graduated in '81 and there was NO black students there & I don't even recall Asians. They did bring in 2 black girls & they didn't stay very long. I still have my 3 year books & not 1 black person is in it. But I liked it that way so.
