Was born and raised there great people in this little city it all started in the 50s off Root drive area development. was all hard working familys raising kids , some still there today I live in Florida my hearts in the Boro
I grew up in Garrettsville and moved to Streetsboro shortly after high school. I lived in Roanoke apartments for 5 years. I really liked it there. Great video!
Oh nice! Garrettsville has a pretty nice boardwalk downtown, a little to rural for me. My cousin grew up out there. Streetsboro definitely has a better location, everything is much closer. Thank you!
I lived in Streetsboro 20 years ago after graduating from Kent. I'm not sure if the city tax law has changed, but when I lived there and worked in Solon, I had to pay city tax to both places, even though the Solon tax was higher. I loved living there however, easy to get to Kent, only half hour drive to Downtown Cleveland and Downtown Akron.
The big issue I've seen are drunk drivers. Portage county has the most DUIs of any county in Ohio. Outside of that some sinking issue with homes. Especially near Route 303
the stats that I've seen have portage with less DUIs and less DUIs per capita than counties like Athens, Erie and some others. Still somewhat high but not out of the norm
Well if you’re taking Streetsboro to Cleveland, it’s about a 40 minute drive. You’ll take route 480 to 77 north. It can get congested but it’s a steady flow of traffic for the most part. Now if there’s construction or an accident, it can definitely cause delays. It’s an easy drive though.
@@livinginnortheastohio8643 Thank you for answering... thinking of moving from the northeast, where it would take me literally 2-3 hours to get to work in the city and again back home.. 4-6 hours of commuting, is not for me!
They’re quite affordable and they give you a nice home layout in a nice community. Downsize to this, the building process is rushed so corners are cut sometimes.
@@livinginnortheastohio8643 in the long run that affordable initial price is not worth it after one has to put tons of work into fixing issues with the house.
@@bretfrazier9269 I agree! they're not all bad though. in Aurora, we just did a general home inspection on a 5 year old Ryan home and there Wasn't many issues at all. when referring to craftsman ship, the biggest issue was nail heads popping through drywall and drywall cracks, a window couldn't properly shut, a vertical crack in the foundation.
@@livinginnortheastohio8643 OK. We can agree to disagree. As an agent, I understand you need to sell. I would never buy one or advise anyone to buy Ryan.
@@bretfrazier9269 I do agree with you but to a certain extent. If their craftsmanship was that bad then they wouldn't be building the amount of homes they are and selling them fast too!!! Ive been involved in Ryan homes sales from both selling and buying and no one has had major issues with their home. im going off the general home inspections that were done. All the inspectors say is there are some corners cut cause they put up these homes in like 4 months! However, 15-30 years down the road that might be a different story!!!! haha
Why’s that? I’ve been born and raised near Red Fox, a neighborhood North of Lake Rockwell on a man made lake area that looks like a kidney bean. The only issue I’ve had would be anything school or driving related. I never stepped foot in any Streeetsboro school. Winter here is bad because of lack luster snow plowing and road construction. Price Road, if you turn off of Route 14, is absolutely terrible until it magically becomes super smooth. Winter of 2017 had ice so bad one day that my sister and I, among maybe 50+ people, were in accidents. Other than that, you get used to that one light’s traffic. If it goes farther than another traffic light or two going East/West, that’s when you gotta take another way, which they at most take only a minute if you know the area. Other than that, the only news coverage we get is if there’s a drunk driver, which is very rare since the last one I heard of came in from 480 going the wrong way. I also just saw a show called A&E or something like that, that deals with some police cases. That episode only had anything to do with weed or some other drug

It must have changed because I live in Streetsboro and work in Twinsburg. I report to RITA and only pay one.
My dad worked at the McDonalds in streetsboro. And he has had some crazy moments!

In my opinion, don't spend hard earned money on a Ryan Home, craftsmanship is lacking.
