    Alot of people are saying change the fluid to mobil 1 synthetic trans fluid and it usually fixed the shutter, superior solutions sells a thermostat bypass for the transmission so it doesn't run 198+ degrees. The heat is what's is killing the torque converter and the transmission. I'm doing the mobil 1 fluid and bypass this weekend and see what happens we got just a slight shutter so hopefully it all helps.

    • @operationoverhaul
      @operationoverhaul  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know some people who have ran the bypass and it has helped a lot. Their temps stay a lot cooler. Let me know how the Mobil 1 works for you. I would not mind knowing how performs and what it does with the shutter.

      @@johnneset6422 Hey John,
       I have 2x 2016 GMC Yukon Denalis and I did the superior solutions bypass and the Mobil LV fluid recommended by GM and I dropped about 40-45 degrees on both, I also had an occasional jerk while turning and that went away.
      I did two fluid changes, the first was a pan drop and about a week later I syphoned the fluid from the top using a fluid extractor and added as much as I removed both times. I added a trans dipstick to make life easier as I change trans fluid regularly.
      Hope this helps u out.

  • @rniejx4219
    @rniejx4219 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Simply chaninging the fluid wont fix it. 6l80s that have programmed in TCC slip will all eventually die. You need to turn off TC/slip using HP Tuners or similar software.
    Your trans may last longer with new fluid, but constantly slipping a clutch will eventually kill the TC and run clutch material through your trans.
    The good news is with the TCC set to not slip in the tune, even a worn TCC can last a very long time.

    • @operationoverhaul
      @operationoverhaul  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wanted to program it out with my tuner but the customer did not want to do that. He eventually had the transmission rebuilt.

      @lilmiket76 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did the same thing and it helped mine a lot but still slips in 4-5 gear. Would that program help that or just replace the transmission?

    • @operationoverhaul
      @operationoverhaul  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lilmiket76 if it's still slipping and the fluid was dark like this one. I would probably do a replacement and tune it out.

    • @rniejx4219
      @rniejx4219 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lilmiket76 At the bottom of this comment is a video with a really good guide. If you have good computer skills, follow this line for line. You would either have to buy a HP tuners module, or rent one. Zzp performance rents them out for $100 (Plus $100 in credits to unlock your truck, so you would be spending $200). If you arent comfortable with software you could ask any Ls engine tuner who uses HP tuners if they can do it. If you are in Michigan I could also do it.
      It will stop your slipping. Depending how much metal is in the pan, you may also want to replace the torque converter, but the video also has a really good guide to evaluate that. Either way it is proven to save transmissions that were very bad.
