    Do you mind a couple of suggestions from this old man? When you're exploring these places let the camera look inside every nook and cranny, because it's interesting. There was a built-in next to the fireplace that we didn't get a good look in; and There was a door, in the upstairs, it was probably the attic, but it would have been nice to see what was in there. In my opinion, you spend too much time looking at the old magazines and newspapers. Find the date, show it, but that's about it. You of course make the final decision, it's your Channel.

      Much of the best advice I've ever received was from old men and women! Life experience informs our opinions, and a person with more experience is often, not always, but typically of more value. Happy Holidays

    When I was a kid, me and my older brother explored an abandoned house in the mid 70's near what would be today, the Wahkenna nature preserve not far from Sugar Grove, Oh. There was a calander from the late 1800's in the kitchen. It was a very spooky place. To this day, I still have strange, and scary dreams about that house.

    You should try to understand how old the place is looking at the old doors and door knobs maybe trim

      I would like to figure that out but google isn’t helping with that lol. That’s usually my goal with these places. I record the old ones that are forgotten about and hope to see commenters making judgemental guesses on how old these places are. most of my houses has ranged from the 1800s-late 1900s as of when they were built.

    You all should visit the Ozarks there are tons of empty farm houses. This place reminds me of a smaller version of the one my grandparents lived in.

    No running water or bathroom. I’m going to guess that house was built at the turn of the century although someone kept a good roof on it or it would have disintegrated by now.

    This exterior is board & batten style wood siding, not clapboards or Dutchlap, so this is way back, pre civil war. The log barn also dated Architecture. Some of the window frames were nicely preserved and some nice hand made wavy farmhouse glass, i noticed one aluminum storm window, they started in late 50's. The boxes of 1980 magazines were most likely transported in for storage along with the Coldspot. I can't imagine anyone living there even in the 1980's. The Coldspot refrigerator was made by Sears. Also the electric range tells me that there wasn't any natural gas, probably a Well somewhere on the land for potable water, there were homemade portable potty chairs, so no bathroom. The electric range was like 1950's, thats probably the last time someone actually lived there.

    The house to me was built in the late 1800's. The Philco Refrigerator was a Ford Company. I woman live in the house seeing from the magazines found and some of the clothing. Sears doesn't exist anymore it went out of business. On the second floor yes that is stroller. I didn't see a bathroom. Even a outhouse out side. The farm equipment could have some value to the right person. I didn't see any radio or TV. Having lived in Western New York in the country. It wasn't uncommon for the snowplow taking 3 days clear the snow to get out. It was amazing the barn was made of logs.

  • @Denaligirljodie
    @Denaligirljodie 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    That Philco fridge was a kid killer back in the day. Those old fridges didn’t have a way to let someone out if you got stuck inside one. We have an old one similar but it’s shaped rounded. We call it the bullet. They are illegal now cause they were so dangerous and so many kids suffocated inside them. We can’t even sell ours I don’t think if we wanted

    If that was indeed the barn, its my first time seeing a log cabin barn. Thats very cool. My dads family was originally from Ohio (Athens) before migrating to Oklahoma and then Texas. But several generations of his family stayed in Ohio. Yes, that was a baby stroller from the 60's. No bathroom? There must have been an outhouse somewhere, probably collapsed and caved in by now. Thanks for the video.

    Looks like about 200 miles east of where I live in Dayton, Ohio. I always wonder why some relative of the deceased (?) doesn't take care of business, get the place cleaned up and sell it. Maybe it's owned by the nature preserve there (?) Needs torn down if you ask me, but yep, these places are always interesting and sad.

    Im just wondering if permission was given to trespass on someone else's property and structure. Whether its occupied or not you committed a felony called breaking and entering and doesn’t necessarily mean you have to “break in”. Word of advice, you need to be careful doing this because you can be prosecuted by an owner who doesn't like it. It is unlawful. Cool video regardless. God bless and be careful.

    That's fine that you take the time to look for dates on news papers but you don't need to read them. Also keep your flash light on. Plus nobody cares what is in a old refreg, you are wasting everyone's time looking. 75% of the time it is rotting food.

  • @brianarmstrong9098
    @brianarmstrong9098 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I hope you get permission to go into places like this. I'm sure it's owned by someone. Just because it looks abandoned or is abandoned doesn't mean nobody owns the property and well, I'd have to laugh if you got chased off the premise and caught trespassing and fined! Abandoned doesn't mean free for all.
