The reason its called the smile shack. (certified flamingo fan, circa 2017* is because a youtuber flamingo had a series called the RUST_010 series, where he basically explored a series of roblox games dedicated toward him in a horror manner, he was sent coordinates to this house and found it on google maps, so they just named it the smile shack, because rust says to smile alot, and one of his games is literally called smile.

The clock at 17:40 we had in the kitchen of our house in the 80’s, exactly the same one. Shame there was a lot of interesting little things there that got smashed.

That tarp is definitely not 30 years old on the building with the bed in it and the lock looks newer as well, someone has been there more recently. Great find though, I would love to explore it!!!

I understand your reasons for filming these old places. When they're gone, the next generation will never know what existed before. Every time I see an old building torn down, I kick myself for not getting photos before it was too late.

And that's funny thing about the bathrooms is we actually at the old hospital I had gotten one of the old toilets working again (in case we really really had to go) it was the old style toilet that had the water tank on the back and I just brought a 5-gallon jug of water with me and filled it up and since it was still hooked up to the city sewer system voila we had a bathroom 😎. (The same would go for the power flush toilets without the tank if you dump water down it and it still hooked up to the septic system it could still be used as a bathroom) I was always the ingenuitive member of our exploring group I actually had thought about setting a barrel outside letting it fill up with rainwater and then getting a 12-volt RV pump and some plastic half inch pipe and run a line up to the toilet from outside the window so that way we would always be able to have water without having to carry some in 😎

I went here in 2001,when 9/11 happened and I lived way out in the boonies,crazy nostalgia

Went here k thru 8th grade. Was shut down in 2014. The township now owns it. Its definitely not abandoned. Wish they would have pressed charges on the kids that did this when they caught them. So sad to see how my old school is now. 😭

That highway has been through that area for a long time. It's close, but not so close that they would have bought the whole neighborhood. I've seen corners cut off barns to maintain the necessary set-back, but they don't condemn the entire property. The lead paint issue doesn't usually call for condemning the whole property. Looks like all the personal property was abandoned, as well. The mess would usually come from subsequent looting. Looks like the state or fed bought it all for some unknown reason? They might have planned a rest stop there, but it never got built.

This building is now owned by the township. People still continue to break in. The township is prepared to file charges against trespassers since this is something that people continue to do almost nightly. There is security cameras in place.

I went to Waterford high school in Ohio it 105 years old

My high school was it 105 years old when at the time I was in school and still open today
