i appreciate the zac farro praise (it's well-deserved) but the structure of this video makes for a confusing and disingenuous timeline. zac was paramore's only drummer from 2004-2010 before he and his brother, josh, left the band for personal reasons (nothing to do with zac's capabilities or the band's genre). the next six years of his absence were filled by all the touring drummers who left for various reasons (again, none of them having to do with skill), until zac returned in 2017 and, like you said, adapted well to the new styles. this could've been much more straight-foward.
Over his political views, like who gives a shit? If I were in a band and my drummer was a neo-nazi I couldn't care less as long as he did his job. Also, Hayley Williams making what she does in comparison to the rest of the band is kind of bullshit. I get that she is the face of the band she has the easiest job, at least divvy the income up more equally.

The thumbnail for this video is dumb and misleading. Aaron wasn't fired, he was never even an official member of the band. The only reason he stopped playing shows for them is because Underoath got back together and asked Aaron to come back to the band.
I fully agree!!! It's very misleading. Paramore hasn't had an "official drummer" since Zac...it's literally all been fill-ins or studio drummers 😂😂 tbh this entire video is misleading. I knew this dude didn't know what he was talking about when he said Luke Holland was a "youtube legend"...not Luke from The Word Alive hahahaha
I know there's a lot of bigger drummers than Zac, I listen to a lot of genres of rock music. But he is THE PERSON that made me fall in love with rock music back in 2008. He's different. Paramore is my favorite band, Hayley is my favorite singer, but I think Zac Farro is the person responsible of making me love music so much. He's special. I went to the Sao Paulo concert a few months ago and everything was brilliant. His groove is out of this world. I miss this day
My aunt got me into Paramore as she's in love with Hayley's voice. Don't get me wrong i love her voice too but Zac's magic is what hooked me. I'd love to play drums but being blind in one eye kinda prohibits my hand eye coordination to where my reaction speed isnt the greatest because to look right i have to turn my head instead of just glancing. I do mess with mpc beats a lil bit aint good at it but Zac's vibe is something i would love to be able to recreate in making beats.
So true! Hey, did you know that God loves you? God sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins! Jesus rose again. Everyone that simply believes on the Lord Jesus Christ will have eternal life in Heaven. Believe on Jesus Christ (who is God) for eternal life! Once saved, always saved. God bless you! John 5:24
It's pretty crazy how an impossibly impossible drummer filled an impossible role with an impossible comeback using impossible grooves and impossible fills. Simply impossible.
😂the video is so funny. It's really impossible in every way. And the fact that he didn't explain what's the reason why it's impossible to fill in as a drummer for paramore
it was really hard to follow this story with all the timeline jumps. In the future it would be nice if you told the story in a more chronological type order.
@@lovelyy6491 I can confirm: clicked on this because I liked a few paramore songs back in highschool, so I was curious. Came out more confused than anything...
@@PatChatGC i suggest you watch Paramore's interviews with Zane Lowe if you're interested in the band's history, it doesn't cover everything but it's way better!
@@lovelyy6491 non-Paramore fan here. I wouldn't say it was hard to follow, but it was definitely really annoying to sit through 😂 I liked the info, but not the storytelling
Would love for this to become a series for sure. Exploring the histories of iconic bands' drummers and their significance to those bands are never to be underestimated. Cheers as always for these really informative and enlightening videos man
It really means a lot to know that you're digging this series so far! We've put an insane amount of work into these videos so I'm so glad you're getting something out of them. Growing up I always wanted to learn how these pro drummers became pro and stayed that way. Now that I'm on the other side of that, my goal is to teach you all to do the same!
Doing a video on Travis Barker and his impact on blink-182 would be awesome too! blink was definitely getting traction but once Travis join they exploded. They've said several times that Travis was the missing ingredient
the timeline and explanations in this video is not good though, i recommend you watch their interviews for clearer understanding, they got great interviews with Zane Lowe
Hitting drums as hard as you can for hours upon hours is something that will eventually ruin every drummer. Your body isn't designed to constantly absorb the shock of drumming hard... joints wear out and ligaments also loosen and tear. Playing drums comfortably and loosely makes for a better drumming experience and will end in a drummer having a longer drumming life. Look at Phil Collins... dude can barely play drums anymore after years of hard hitting and constant repeated motion injuries. It may look great to see a drummer pounding away and flailing arms and head, but your neck and shoulders WILL eventually tire, tear and eventually cause you to start playing smarter OR stop playing at all. EDIT: Apparently there are a ton of people here that think that just because you have repetitive motion injuries it renders you useless. That's not what I'm saying and I thought our community would be smarter than that. All I'm saying is EVERY drummer has something that they need to treat due to playing the drums for decades. Think of ANY sport (yes drums are just as athletic) and you will find that the athletes are on some sort of pain medication or constant physical therapy for their injuries. Drums (depending on what style) CAN give you long term issues. I have neck issues from playing for 4 decades, it doesn't mean I'm sitting in a wheelchair staring at the TV with a blank look on my face. Lets use our heads for 3 seconds.
Exactly. Drummers are athletes and at some point the body is going to breakdown. You also need time for your muscles to heal (hence why a pitcher in baseball doesn't come back immediately from a serious ligament injury), and it seems like Zack just didn't get the proper breaks he needed in order for that to happen. And the idea of calling the job of being Paramore's drummer a "curse" is insanely overblown.
This is very true. I find it very interesting how alot of drummers in very fast and intense genres such as deathcore or tech death focus alot on movement efficiency and even how to optimize blood flow to the arms. A good example is Spencer Prewett from Archspire who in many songs alternates groups of 4 on his snare and cymbals during blastbeats between hands to have one arm below his heart to optimize blood flow and get oxygen to the muscles.
Don’t think this was mentioned, but Zac lists Aaron as one of his inspirations as a drummer. That hard hitting snare was def inspired by Gillespie. So when Aaron played for Paramore it was like full circle. Awesome stuff.
As a drummer. Paramore’s songs have always been the most fun to play! So much energy in the songs! All the drummers who’ve played for them have really fit in perfectly for the role they played.
As a Drummer I hope you caught the MISTAKE he states in this video at around 14:03 of the video. He says Zac plays in 4/4 time but the song is in 3/4 and then GUSHES PRAISE on him for the difficulty level involved. He is correct on the difficulty of playing Polyrhythms but he's wrong on his facts! The Chorus of the song is in 4/4 and Zac plays 4/4. During the Verses the song is in 3/4 and Zac PLAYS IN 3/4! At NO POINT does he play a "Polyrhythm" but rather he switches Time Signatures as the Band switches Time Signatures. I certainly wouldn't want this Guy playing Drums in my Band when he can't count properly! Especially if I was playing Bass, instead of Guitar, because when I play Bass I like to "lock in" with the Kick Drum to build a solid Groove for my Band to play over and if you can't tell the difference between 3/4 and 4/4, as the "Timekeeper" of the Band, you're going to DESTROY any chance of us sounding TIGHT! Can you imagine trying to play Frame by Frame from King Crimson with this guy?!? One Guitar is playing in 13/8 while the other is in 7/8.....It is SO HARD to play and you need a Rock Steady Drummer to keep it all together because you can't listen to the other Guitarist, to try and stay "in Time" since you are in wildly different Times. You need your Drummer to hold it all together. In fact it is so hard we practiced it for almost a Year but we could never get it tight enough to play it live!
so you just get to decide he doesnt know enough drummer? well I know a lot of drummers and i say zac is better better drummer than mike mangini despite mangini is more skilled. why? becuase zac draw more fans. over skilled is boring. playing 4/4 and drawing attention makes you better drummer and if you dont know that then you dont know enough music @@eriklarson9137
Awesome to see Zac getting his own video! Even though I wasn't really a Paramore fan, I was attracted to their beats as a young drummer. Not many drum tracks jump out at me like his did, and still do.
One of the main things that got me to seriously listen to them was how not mainstream the drumming was. It felt raw and uncomplex, even though it wasn't. I always thought that they later albums were just him becoming more refined as a drummer and that's why it felt more uninspired, but this video shows that newer songs I like of theirs is zacs too... Crazy how much one particular instrumentalist can influence your take of entire songs and all.. But yeah, the drumming definitely was the one thing that I felt carried those earlier songs
Agreed, similar to how TH (RIP) of the Foo Fighters would sometimes have the beat follow the guitar riff instead of the bass, Zac does this predominantly. It's catchy and refreshing
This video is so all over the place. You're sharing about the timeline of this band and then jump from 1st to 6th? Then it's just chaos after that with all the dramatically written lines of a soap opera along with their transitions.
all the other drummers were just fill ins man, they weren't actually full-time drummers haha. There was no curse, just hard to find a full-time drummer for Paramore that is as good as Zach. All the other drummers were as good or better, but they all had their passion projects. Arron is in Underoath, and The Almost, Ilan Rubin is in his two projects with Nine Inch Nails and The New Regime. none of the other drummers actually had time for Paramore. I'm glad Zach is back though.
I went to see Paramore live in Glasgow two weeks ago, there was a brief acapella rendition of Rose-Colored Boy because Zac broke his snare from slamming it so hard during the intro. Incredible stuff
@@MatzaFTW If he learned to hit with just the wrist instead of his full arms, it would save him a ton of energy and pain over time. Learning the push and pull technique has made my playing transform like no other. And I lose very little energy now. You can hit a snare hard asf like him but just using your wrist only.
@@wdrumz If he learned to hit with just the wrist instead of his full arms, then he would sound completely different and his snare wouldn't be as iconic as it is. I highly doubt you can impart the same force with just your wrist as Zac can with his entire arm followed by a wrist flick, his wrist flick alone is probably better than yours lol.
You're probably thinking of the Moeller technique. That's where you hit the drum with a wrist and arm motion like you're cracking a whip. You can smash the shit out of a drum that way without a whole lot of effort.
I have never seen someone call intermediate drum patterns Impossible lol. Zac was amazing cause he could understand and feel the vibe of the song so he wrote the perfect drums to compliment it then played it how it was meant to be played with pure passion and hitting each beat just right and connecting with the drum with the right force in the right spot. That's what makes the right drummer, not just skill.
I feel sorry for Zac, the label should’ve had a dietician, a physio, and a personal trainer working with him early on to help build his strength and stamina up. A university carried out a study on rock drummers and found out they can actually burn more calories than a pro footballer (soccer) player during a set.
I'm no drummer. I played on a band with friends and I wanted to play bass. But the guy who was supposed to play the drums couldn't get the timing right for this song we wanted to playI did, so we switched and he played bass while I played drums. We played on a band competition at school, and the song we played was this punk song with a very basic drum line, but I was doing 8s on the snare. After every practice, I struggle to even wipe the sweat on my forehead with my right hand. I had to lower my forehead to my hand to do so. I'm the most physically built member on that band. I grew up helping the family business since I was 8. I've been doing a lot of heavy lifting since my early teens. Knowing what I know now, I'd prefer lifting 150lbs (75lbs on each hand) up a very steep path than playing drums with very fast beats consistently. In all my years doing delivery, I never felt my forearm go numb like that.
There techniques he’s should have learned , Danny Carey is lke 60 and plays more complex shit then paramore will ever play. He just wasn’t conditioned and didn’t learn properly, which is a good thing cause he developed a style that was awesome, sucks this happened to him and hope he is good now.
I believe it. And as a former Athlete myself, they aren’t getting properly hydrated or eating while playing. Once you’re thirsty or hungry, it’s too late. Your body is breaking down. Being a drummer in a sense, is being an athlete.
@iitstre_4550 "Friday" is far superior to "This is why" in every measurable way.....and yes, "Friday" was hot garbage. Atleast it was unintentionally funny and ironically worth talking about. "This is why" doesn't even have that going for it.
Dude, Aaron is such a rare talent. Not only is his drumming on a class on its own, he does so while singing. So imagine how sick that album would have been with him in background vocals.
@@brauliocruz2884Paulina Villarreal also can sing while playing the drums, her band is called The Warning, they are three sisters, in some songs she sings lead while playing the drums, and in other one backing vocals.
Aaron's so friggin good, he toured with them for their self-titled and the live recordings at Red Rocks on the deluxe edition have him on drums. His drumming for the entirety of _Let the Flames Begin & Part II_ is probably my favorite performance of his and among my favorite performances of all time. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Glad to see Zac Farro finally getting the recognition he deserves, since I was a teen I noticed that his playing was pretty much unpredictable but so fitting with the songs, I’m so happy he’s back, the current lineup has always been my dream lineup (even when Jeremy was there haha). Thanks for the video 🤍
I think the reason these songs end up taking a toll on the drummers is not because of the songs itself, but because of the way these drummers play. I mean, I've played complicated and fast songs for hours, and I really don't get tired or hurt. HOWEVER, if I started throwing my hands in the air and hitting the drums as hard as I can, of course I'm gonna be tired. That's why I always tell people, just because you play hard doesn't make you play better. If you want the mix to sound juicy, get a good mixing engineer. Playing hard often just worsens things. Anyways, great video!
thats the smoothest promo i have ever witnessed on you tube....Sweetwater LMAO.....the timing of mentioning a snare drum and shouting the promo is just SMOOOOOOOTH!! good job!!
I think this speaks to something greater than skill itself … love and friendship. Those other drummers are more than capable to fill Zac’s role as they are hard-hitting drummers capable of grooves and polyrhythmic concepts. However, I’m betting they could never fill the void of Zac because of the love between band mates. It’s the camaraderie that supersedes all. My guess is the other drummers felt that. They were more than capable but always felt like “the outsider.” Nothing wrong with that. In fact, that’s a good thing and why certain bands can attain such longevity.
@@alexrobertson557hey, could you elaborate more? This is just out of pure curiosity if you have more details. I’ve been a fan since 2005 and I’m not into their personal stuff as I was back then when I was in high school. I still love Hayley and the band and their new album but I just don’t agree with Hayley’s socio-political stance that she sometimes brings to gigs (I see some of them on YT).
This might have been that most confusing video I've ever watched on TH-cam. We have talked about 3 guys in random order..."now let's talk about the 7 drummers Paramore had in 3 years!" Okay????? This video was ALL over the place. I was starting to get a headache keeping anything straight.
The transition Zac makes from the Riot/Brand New Eyes era to After Laughter makes a bit more sense if you factor in all the releases from his project HalfNoise. one of my all time favourite drummers for sure.
I remember seeing Paramore at Bamboozle Left tour about 15 years ago. I was not a fan at the time and they won me over that night. I remember the drummer (Zac) was doing stuff I wouldn't even try during a jam session. I was totally blown away. Bravo.
I'm a guitar player so I'm always listening to music focusing more on the guitars however I got into Paramore because of the Drums, the drums sounded so different compared to other bands that were coming out at the moment! I'm glad Paramore Drums it's getting the recognition they deserve!
Zac is so amazing. The way he has his own sound, while being a drummer, seems almost impossible to me, but he does! Only other one I could think of is Travis Barker. You recognize his drumming immediately too.
Haven't finished the video yet, so I'm not sure if he mentions this or not, but I feel the wording is slightly misleading. I feel its wrong to say that they've had 7 drummers because Zac was the only full-time drummer in the band. The other 6 drummers were touring drummers, and it's not uncommon for bands to rotate touring drummers due to scheduling conflicts, bands wanting different vibes for different tours, amongst other things. Just to clarify for the others watching that didn't know
I can’t imagine having to kick someone out of a band. No matter their skill level, I never want to miss out on hearing what they will create if they are just given a level of support that reflects how much effort they put into their art.
I remember hearing Paramore when they first came around. Zac reminds me of Dave Grohl. I don't know if he has said it, but you can feel the power in his drumming. He is epic in so many ways!
My favorite drummer Is Aaron Gillespie so when I saw he was filling in for paramore I knew it was going to be perfect match because honestly Aaron & Zac almost have the same ferocity behind the throne and almost same style just pure heavy hitters
I am always impressed by drummers that can seamlessly change up styles like Zac. This is not my favorite type of music but I respect most musicians and this dude is a beast.
With session/big name guys like Josh and Ilan you have to remember how in demand they are for recordings/tours/personal projects that sometimes it's just a timing issue. Aaron reuniting with Underoath or Ilan's commitments with AVA and his solo stuff probably good examples.
14:03 - He is NOT playing a Polyrhythm! That's What You Get is in TWO DIFFERENT Time Signatures! The Chorus is in 4/4 Time and the Verse and Riff are in 3/4 Time. At NO POINT is he playing a different Time Signature then the rest of the Band! During the Verses he plays in 3/4 along with the rest of the Band and in the Chorus he plays in 4/4 along with the rest of the Band!
6:43 Only came up quickly but something caught my eye so had to rewind to make sure. What the hell is "Conditions United" across the Manchester United badge on his T-Shirt?
I'd love to hear a complete interview with Zac Farro about the first albums of the band and how did he manage to come up with the suff he did. There's almost no info about it!
Seemed like the Zac history of the band as opposed to knowing about each drummer how they really got the gig and the real reasons why they each ended up not really staying. Zac is amazing with everything he does for sure, amazing. Love their music.
Zac has sharpened his dynamics throught out the years, which i think is why he has leveled up big time from where he started imo... Also, although i dont dig Jeremys Rap project, he is a hell of a bass player. He came up with a lot of great bass riffs for a lot of really good Paramore songs.
Josh Freese is the actual drummer for the Vandals and has been a legend forever. Calling him a session drummer is a bit of an understatement. I remember being in middle school in 1998 and all my older friends saying he’s one of the best rock drummers in the world but gets overlooked because he just plays in fun punk bands.

Thanks for the video! i was always such a huge fan of zac, hes the only drummer i went out of my way to find out who he was. but this video really shows how he boosted paramore to a level i find incredibly high.
Zac Farro was 14 when he recorded All We Know Is Falling. He might not be recognized as the world’s greatest drummer ever but considering how young he started he is a legend.
Paramore is pop punk and the drummer was struggling to maintain stamina. Really makes you think about the drummers of slipknot, bullet for my valentine, a day to remember and of course Travis Barker. Absolute animals.
Yeah, I know his name. If I rattle off the names Joey Jordison, Michael Thomas and Alex Shelnutt, many wouldn't know the point I'm getting at. I singled out Travis because he has transcended back into pop culture, while the other names are tied to the bands they have made their names with. Not everyone is a metal head, but even the gangster rapper at a bar in the south side of Chicago knows who Travis Barker is these days.
I think there is some deliberate omission. The author made it sound as if Zac was so incredibly young and... I looked at the wiki and he was apparantly 6 months younger then Taylor and 1,5 years younger then Hayley. It's not really that huge age difference to how you make it sound. Yes, he was the youngest, but not to the point of ignoring that the rest of band wasn't exactly old either.
Just saw them in concert at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle on the 9th - absolutely killed it! Zac crushed it of course, and even got to sing one of his singles toward the end of the set.
This.. Was a difficult video to follow along to. It seemed like you kept bouncing around the timeline rather than just going chronologically. On top of that, you didn't really explain why most of the other drummers didn't stick around. You just kept going back to why Zac is so amazing.
This is almost always the case man. Band is not just combination of music instruments, it is also the people, the history between and with each other. I rarely listen to a band after they change their member
The most chaotic video that I've seen. I lost the story line like 5 times and couldn't finish the video but hope he isn't cursed if he becomes their drummer lol :D
I'm a drummer, and I've always enjoyed Paramore. I had no idea about any of this, super fascinating stuff. Can't wait to bring it up at work with the other Paramore enjoyers :3
I think you’re misunderstanding the real reason why Zac came back to the band. If he’d been any other person playing that well, he wouldn’t been asked to join the band. Joining the band is a huge thing and the reason why no one else either have joined the band. He was asked because he was Zac, their old band mate and friend of 20 years. Quote from Zac: “the thing that drew me back was getting to spend time with Hayley and Taylor every day”. Paramores song Grudges is about Hayley’s and Zac’s restarting their friendship over gain. Every drummer since Zac left have been touring/recording drummers. They were never part of the band, nor ever considered to become a part of the band. So it’s very unnecessary to talk about them as if they were more than touring musicians and create fake drama about a “curse”.
13!?? Wow Zack looked grown as hell lol he is damn amazing! but where was his parents? I’m surprised they let him tour. Everything is fun until it starts to feel like a job. I never knew all these drummers had to go through all of this…so crazy 😮 I like Paramore and this is interesting..I definitely want to know more about this.. Great video!
It’s interesting to see how references influence how you look at an artist: there are many drummers out there in the metal genre for example that would be able to fill this role comfortably and much more (listen to the guys from Leprous or Polyphia). I believe it was much more a matter of personality and how it fits with the rest of the band than unique talent. Same as Lars in Metallica for example ;)
Funny thing. I was actually hanging with Miles at his home while he was recovering and we both watched them on tv at Aaron’s first show. It was wild. He was like “oh he nailed that part” or “there’s a push there” haha. Miles is a monster. Ilan is a freak of nature. Aaron is a beast. Josh is an elite first call. So much talent has come through that group.
I like drums I love this!!! Paramore’s my favorite band and Zac is pretty much my favorite drummer. Been especially inspired lately as I’ve been listening to that new album non stop this year. Really appreciate the work you put into this :)
The amount of editing work and the smoothness behind this is unreal. As an editor myself, I bow my head to good work. And as a Drummer I just nerd out to this cool background Info! Drummers are oftentimes not the corepiece of what Bands are famous for, so analyzing stories and backgrounds like this, highlighting where the Drummer actually shined and what was entirely the drummers fault or success. Yeah, I'd binge something like that. Thank you for the hard work and hope to see more!
This guy is so cool. I really like his accessories. Particularly his fanny pack causally draped over his shoulder. It just makes me think "Wow" i wonder what he's storing in there that his pockets aren't able to store. He is so cool.
Wow, I had no idea of the background of Paramore, how many drummers they went through, and the the current drummer was the first. Also, I am loving this series!
Zack is my biggest inspiration. I’m lucky enough to of seen him twice with Paramore and I still don’t know how he plays how he does. The feel, heavy hitting and perfect parts will always make me wonder how I still can’t play to his standard when I’m 20 and he was 16-17 when Riot came out. The man is a literal beast behind the kit. Give me 20 more years and I’ll be able to be him
Being a hard hitting drummer doesn't make you an extraordinary drummer. The beats in the songs are the beats you learn when you take 3 months of drum lessons. Let's put things in perspective...and nothing is complex in paramount's songs....complex is dream theater. Congrats to Paramount.
OMG thank you sooooo much for this video! Zac is such a talented drummer/musician ❤️ He is too underrated for his gifted abilities. I love him and I’m grateful for you ❤️ Yes there’s no one like Zac tbh. And for Jeremy, well…his fans did love him but Paramore is a line that he didn’t need to cross for greed. The songs he contributed in all failed and were not published.
Well to be fair Paramore ended up settling the case with him out of court so I wouldn't attribute it to greed as there must have been something that backed his argument
The drum parts of Paramore are at the core of most of their songs. The mix of power and precision needed on earlier albums through to grooves laid down on the later albums certainly tests a drummer ability to find right pocket to sit in. Zac is brilliant. I cant work out how he does some things. Carter Beauford also has that mix of power, precision and groove within DMB songs.
I love to see Carter Beauford get any recognition. I'm admittedly not a drummer, but I've played with enough. Beauford is one of the best I've ever heard, and you just don't hear him getting the recognition he deserves. His amazing mixture of groove and technique are central to Dave Matthews Band's sound. Chad Sexton of 311 is another drummer that doesn't get the acclaim he deserves.
Grew up on Paramore.. I had the honor of having Myles McPherson play on my last release and let me tell you, he still has it! I agree with Zac's snare sound...
This was a great video but I also think it's important to understand what was happening within the band and in Hayley's own life at the time. Especially when Zac and Josh Farro left and then when he came back for AL and later when Hayley fully came back for this last album. Zac has always been one of the best. I remember people being super impressed back in the day with misery business.

I miss this day
hey
Sudden Feeling is an S-Tier album and makes listening to After Laughter even more enjoyable. Nobody will convince me otherwise
You should check out the cover of Ain't it fun by El estepario siberiano, one of the best current drummer. Very nice groove bro.
It's not pretty crazy, I'd argue that it's pretty impossible
You keep using this word, but it does not mean what you think it means…
😂the video is so funny. It's really impossible in every way. And the fact that he didn't explain what's the reason why it's impossible to fill in as a drummer for paramore

Well, I’m gonna die early
Tell that to chad smith, he’s 60 and playing hard every day
This is very true.
Tommy Aldrich is laughing at this comment.
Try drumming System of a down songs, way more fun ;)
Zac is an extraordinary drummer. He is the reason why I like many of their songs.
Compared to other poppy bands sure. Compared to elite drummers no. If you disagree, that just means you don't know enough drummers.
@@eriklarson9137 agreed, I can't believe how much hype this guy is getting. I liked Paramore back in the day, but Zach is an average drummer at best.
so you just get to decide he doesnt know enough drummer? well I know a lot of drummers and i say zac is better better drummer than mike mangini despite mangini is more skilled. why? becuase zac draw more fans. over skilled is boring. playing 4/4 and drawing attention makes you better drummer and if you dont know that then you dont know enough music @@eriklarson9137
Part of why Zac’s one of my favorite drummer is how hard he hits, dude does NOT hold back
This guy's making things sound way more complicated than it really is
@@MatzaFTW If he learned to hit with just the wrist instead of his full arms, it would save him a ton of energy and pain over time.
I was thinking the same thing. Also if the drummer has pain like that, that is a sign of poor technique.
he was using aluminums
@@danglol Huh?

Thanks for the video 🤍
I feel like this video could have been 10 minutes without all the needless fluff. Feels like I'm watching American TV from the 2000's.
I really liked what Aaron brought to their live act. He was always an over-the-top energetic presence with Underoath.
He's my favourite drummer by far, and he did a fantastic job as Paramore's drummer
thats the smoothest promo i have ever witnessed on you tube....Sweetwater LMAO.....the timing of mentioning a snare drum and shouting the promo is just SMOOOOOOOTH!!
I think friendship would sound like "Don't quit, take a year off. Your job is here for you if/when you're ready for it".
Paramore should probably have a documentary or a biopic at this point.
that would expose Ms Williams though, they cant be having that now

Im not very familiar with the technical part of drumming, Im just a listener. But Joey Jordison's drumming always stood out for me.
For me, another standout is Dave Grohl. The dude beats the absolute hell out of his kit when he plays, making a real punchy ass sound.

With session/big name guys like Josh and Ilan you have to remember how in demand they are for recordings/tours/personal projects that sometimes it's just a timing issue. Aaron reuniting with Underoath or Ilan's commitments with AVA and his solo stuff probably good examples.

Zac has sharpened his dynamics throught out the years, which i think is why he has leveled up big time from where he started imo... Also, although i dont dig Jeremys Rap project, he is a hell of a bass player. He came up with a lot of great bass riffs for a lot of really good Paramore songs.
Where did you get 13 from? Paramore's first album came out in 2005 when he was 15?
Josh Freese is the actual drummer for the Vandals and has been a legend forever. Calling him a session drummer is a bit of an understatement. Paramore is pop punk and the drummer was struggling to maintain stamina. Really makes you think about the drummers of slipknot, bullet for my valentine, a day to remember and of course Travis Barker. Absolute animals.
Joey Jordison 😔
Yeah, I know his name. If I rattle off the names Joey Jordison, Michael Thomas and Alex Shelnutt, many wouldn't know the point I'm getting at. I singled out Travis because he has transcended back into pop culture, while the other names are tied to the bands they have made their names with. Not everyone is a metal head, but even the gangster rapper at a bar in the south side of Chicago knows who Travis Barker is these days.
@@jlucas9342 yeah no I completely understand your point, that was more me paying respects to joey, also Alex Shelnutt 😍😍😍

This.. Was a difficult video to follow along to. It seemed like you kept bouncing around the timeline rather than just going chronologically.
On top of that, you didn't really explain why most of the other drummers didn't stick around. You just kept going back to why Zac is so amazing.
One of the reasons that get me into Paramore is definitely the drum groove!!!!
This is almost always the case man.

No wonder why I find the beat of 'That's What You Get' so mesmerizing. Its got a very brilliant drummer behind it.
13!?? Wow Zack looked grown as hell lol he is damn amazing! but where was his parents? I’m surprised they let him tour.
Everything is fun until it starts to feel like a job.
I never knew all these drummers had to go through all of this…so crazy 😮
I like Paramore and this is interesting..I definitely want to know more about this..
Oh boy. Paramore has had some incredible heavy hitters! Their songs are so much fun to play. What a crazy journey. Super pro video dude! 🤘😀🤘

also i didnt know paramore had so many drummers like ive always wanted to be paramore's drummer but i think ive changed my mind.
Ilan's drumlines are my favorites, dude's just a powerhouse wherever he goes, the drums of still into you are incredible
I like drums
I love this!!! Paramore’s my favorite band and Zac is pretty much my favorite drummer. Been especially inspired lately as I’ve been listening to that new album non stop this year. Really appreciate the work you put into this :)
Actually, I would always recognize a Paramore song through the drums. Amazing Zac Farro!
I just have to say that Aaron Gillespie has an angelic voice. His clean vocals for Underoath are insane.
I hope that Spinaltap eventually gets the drummer that they deserve
I like drums.......!!
If I win, it would be my first kit ; though I hv been learning it for abt 8 yrs.........
What......!?8 yrs
Dude.......!! I guess you should really get one @DrumBeatsOnline
@@RayChan-tn5js fingers crossed.......!!😃
Wow, I had no idea of the background of Paramore, how many drummers they went through, and the the current drummer was the first.
Also, I am loving this series!
they were all touring drummers. Zac is the only full time drummer and actual member of the band Paramore has had.
Zac is such a talented drummer/musician ❤️
He is too underrated for his gifted abilities. I love him and I’m grateful for you ❤️
Yes there’s no one like Zac tbh.
I’m so happy Zac is back. I said it when I was 15 and I’ll say it again being 30, Zac is one of the greatest drummers ever ❤
Right never mentioned Zac and Josh leaving together.
It's impossible to get ads out of my face too
