You wanna know something funny? I reimagined this scene going a completely different route than Greg having his parade rained on by Patty's tennis balls, and instead imagined him swiping her hat and running away with it, leading to a chaotic chase into the country club where Patty tackles Greg and Greg has to clean up a mess to prevent his parents from knowing about it. What's even funnier is that when I was a high school senior, I had a marriage project in economics class in which I had to write an imaginary family history, and knowing that my partner gave me complete autonomy over the story, I wrote that alternative scenario and let her finish the rest.
