My daycare had this play all the time to the point every kid wanted a car like in the movie. So the lady in charge decided to buy one of those mini cars for kids to drive around. It was locked away for awhile because although it’s only meant to hold one driver, six kids would hold onto the vehicle when it was moving and we injured ourselves too much to the point that the daycare was in danger of a possible lawsuit. But the parents would never sue because we were all manics at 5 years old and we all had this unreasonable desire to place ourselves in harms way for no reason except curiosity.
This cart racing scene was indeed iconic. I remember me, my cousin, and my neighbor (two of them) made cardboard boxes to become cart cars and pretended we racing it in our living room.
My Mom used to own this film on VHS, before we eventually upgraded to mostly DVD’s. And yeah, even this film reminds me of my childhood. I mean, sure the original film based on the original “Our Gang” shorts by Hal Roach debuted on TV around some 100 years ago, but the kids here still made a movie for a lot of us to remember.
I can still remember the days where I wondered if Go-Karts were even a thing because I never came across announcements of any kind regarding local races like in the movie.
Fun facts on this scene: • When Reba introduces the go cart race and says "welcome to the 73rd annual go cart race" that was a nod to the original little rascals in 1921. In real life, McEntire's son Shelby Blackstock races professionally. • Blake Ewing who plays Waldo had a recurring role on their show Full House (1987) as Derrick, a friend of their character Michelle. •In a TV interview it was revealed by the cast that in reality the children playing Darla and Spanky were boyfriend and girlfriend. (I had a feeling) • 4:32 Waldo says, "Atomic batteries to power, turbines to speed" during the go-kart race. This is what Burt Ward as Robin says when the Dynamic Duo leaves the bat cave in the 60's Batman television series.
Can you all believe this movie is turning 30 Years old this year in 2024. Those were born in 94 were blessed and honored to have all these movies, including TV shows.
They kinda fell victim to their own karma for using silly string to cheat against some of the other kids. So I think being the bullies they are, both Butch and Woim kinda got what they deserved for their own stupidity aside from actually being sore losers.
2:43-2:565:43-5:576:43-7:05 Me as an undercover police officer: “Butch, Woim, and Waldo, you three are permanently disqualified and banished from our go kart derbies for stealing go karts, bullying, cheating, and contestant endangerment. And it’s going to be that way for the rest of your lives!”
This will always be my best childhood memory, don’t care how old I get, I will always look in my spirit book of memories to rewatch this movie when I move on in life.
I’m 15. Used to watch this movie many times in 2014-2017. I also used to do the wave under the chin with my friends when I was in 1st grade. Great, great times
I'll never forget watching this on VHS as a kid

Bruh. I’m going to be 31 soon, and that’s exactly how old I’ll be by the time this film even celebrates its 30th anniversary. 😂😂😂
I too am 31 yes we're old
As a 26 year old, I used to loveeee watching this as a kid in daycare. I felt like one of the little rascals 😂

All-time classic. Don't care what anyone says. Brings me back to my childhood.

This part made me feel so jealous as a kid because racing your own mini car looked so much fun.😅
Same, I wanted a go-kart so bad! 😂
I can still remember the days where I wondered if Go-Karts were even a thing because I never came across announcements of any kind regarding local races like in the movie.
😅
Porky literally said, "Whoopee." and there's Whoopi Goldberg as Buckwheat's mom at 1:08.
Breaking the fourth wall lol
I’ve lost all respect for her.
