A few great choices, although some were a bit biased! I certainly agree about Jimmy Barnes, Working Class Man, ACDC with Bon Scott (Bagpipes)! Some good bands! 🙋👍
You mean The Seekers "I Am Australian". He did say that people wouldn't necessarily agree with what he picked. Did you know that Rick Springfield, who sings "Jesse's Girl" is an Aussie.
Weird list. That indigenous instrument is a didjeridu or yidaki. No Triffids, Saints, or Go-Betweens? And where the Fx are The Seekers ("Georgy Girl", "The Carnival is Over", "I'll Never Find Another You") and Olivia Newton-John ("Physical", "Magic", "Hopelessly Devoted to You")? Other than that, some very good Aussie music there, plus a bit of New Zealand music (Kimbra, on Gotye's song, and Neil Finn, the main singer/songwriter of Crowded House). At least they didn't claim Dragon. A few odd choices for songs (The Angels, but not "No Secrets"? Paul Kelly, but not "Leaps and Bounds"? InXS but not "Need You Tonight"? AC/DC but not "Thunderstruck", "You Shook Me All Night Long", or "Dirty Deeds"? And surely Cold Chisel's greatest song is "Forever Now"). And the live recordings often left a lot to be desired.
These were voted into the list! I agree with about half, but that's personal choice, these songs appear to be world hits! There's no country singers either, and Cold Chisel has many top songs - Flame Trees?
This list is generally for a middle aged group. The seekers would be in that list if we opened the age gap up. There are many more great artists that deserve to be in this list. Really it should be the top 100 to cover more.
I disagree, he said FM radio votes! Nick Cave's song was an unusual inclusion, definitely his song with Kylie, Wild Rose, was more popular in the mainstream! The Seekers were our greatest export before Olivia and Kylie!
Its called a yidaki or more commonly the didgeridoo th-cam.com/video/eYtgDNQJ1eo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=VHcM65or3WAUZrcx th-cam.com/video/eVAaRJ-QbN8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=eBQHQkMeRKUkD5F6 th-cam.com/video/c81f5egGzCc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=aYRq_jCo0pimFft1 th-cam.com/video/M2u1KrV3NLo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cdmiTMs8TbpTMVzV th-cam.com/video/qkHC_IZ-aGM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=hSte4n0JCEpfF7DB
He's basically giving you a list of songs to do reactions to. Good rabbit hole to go down.

You've definitely heard Great Southern Land , probably the one in a visual highlights of Australia reaction.
Yes, there's an epic drone video of Australia to that Icehouse song! I'm sure Dar has seen it!
@jenniferharrison8915 that's it.

Stopped at Powderfinger. Worst Aussie band ever. Very rude people, especially Bernard.
