    Lyrics.
    Transparent,
    A black hole of emptiness
    Expectations that will
Turn you into a permanent mess
    Just drop it
    You're OK
    You're OK
    Projecting,
    All those failures
    Chokes your energy
    Little by little
    You fade into passivity
    Just drop it
    You're OK
    You're OK
    You're OK
    You're OK
    Respect yourself
    Protect yourself
    Respect yourself
    Protect yourself
    Makes me sad to see
    How desperatately you try
It won't change a single thing
    As life passes you by
    Just drop it
    You're OK
    You're, you're OK
    Respect yourself
    Protect yourself
    Respect yourself
    Respect yourself
    Protect yourself
    It's all OK
    Respect yourself
    Protect yourself
    OK, OK

Hey Mattias! I'm an average guitarist and singer of 37yo, been playing guitar for 25 years now, and I really recently discovered Freak Kitchen and your Freak Audio Lab...
Your music changed my musician life for ever! Thank you for that. And I totally love your non-stopping positive attitude and crazyness! That's the spirit everyone should have. Thank you for this as well.
Greetings from New Caledonia, you viking modern hero!

Merci!!!

Hi! Great video and topic as always ! I would love to hear you thoughts on how you EQ your amp/ tone in DAW to fit the guitar tone (especially 8 string ) in the mix of the song to fit with the other instruments and vocals . Have a great summer !

Hejsan svejsan! I love your take on theory, seeing the entire instrument as a spectrum. The double violin sounds like the ancient "tromba marina" (triangular single-stringed instrument) to me, really interesting to hear that sound here too!

I like to mess with my booze with tonic.
To me it's super hard to hear the difference in the modes because I have porridge for ears. Like the melody sounds exactly the same to me. However the difference I do recognize is the backing track having weird vibes, but my brain doesn't connect the melody to those vibes.
I title this song Relaxed and Happy, but Nauseated, End of Summer Love Song with Devin Townsendisque Musical Dance Part and Pantera Arpeggio. This song had a little bit of everything vibes, surprising you in every turn.

Hejsan Svejsan! This track got stuck in my brain from one very long journey through Romania and I found that chord progression and the melody weirdly interesting and I concluded it's A and then F which somehow work together in this scale. Now I see I've been a semitone away from the truth :D Anyway, I have similar vision on modes and that's why I prefer to think in Ionolian, Lydorian, Myxophrygian, and Dorlocrian, instead of the 7 church modes separated. In the end, it all comes down to what you emphasise with a certain note set, just as you illustrated with Metallica's song.

HEJSAN SVEJSAN you have to experiment with alternate tuning....Michael hedges used to do that.... Would be interesting to hear what a Da-Gi-tina ga-Gi-tina guy like you would come up with....

    • @mattias_ia_eklundh
      @mattias_ia_eklundh  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

i have been using six different tunings for the past 27 years, so... Hedges was one of a kind!

In all fairness to Mattias, I'm quite certain he has written more songs in open tuning than in standard. Check out some of the back catalogue of Freak Kitchen 😁. I believe his fav used to be open C#sus4, maybe?

Är indisk/asiatisk musik så avancerad som man föreställer sig som västerlänning? Eller är det bara en brist på "exposure"

    • @mattias_ia_eklundh
      @mattias_ia_eklundh  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Inte alls... eller, jo, det beror på. Det finns komplexitet bortom allt förstånd men man kan också fördjupa sig i delar, skalor och rytmer och göra det till sitt eget. Det är det jag gör.
