we've come a long way in making things more efficient around here we've worked with a pretty small area and it definitely creates challenges Buster is better than ever again finally
Great video. Phill always learning from you. I cut my bags at 45 inches. I take the end of bag to other side of palm of hand. Trying to make bottom of bag a short handle. I’m wasting bagging material. Yikes. Now the gun on lap way faster then what I do. I prep my bags 24 evenly in line and take the 25th bag and wrap it around Tie it up tight. It gives me a great reference of bags made 25 in a bundle. Thanks a lot for all your help friend.
We used to leave a long tail on the bottom but we was watching customers as they took the bags from the stand and 100% of the time they were just grabbing one end or the other but not both at the same time so by making them shorter we get a few extra bags pr roll . Karen figured out the gun on the lap deal . There’s a company that sells a bench mounted clip gun that has a foot peddle but there big bucks . That would be even faster and maybe eventually we will upgrade to that .
I would love to see that hard mounted gun. I will see if I can search it. What your doing on lap is way way faster then what I’m doing. Thanks again. Excited to see your next video. Be safe FTP 😂
Nice to see the way you use your bags. Hopefully you can keep up and get caught up soon. As you know the vacations are great but there is more work when you get hope. Great to meet you at the show, again, hopefully Phil likes his new boots.
Bundle sales have slowed down a lot. A week away from the woodyard always means catching up Jason! Boots haven’t arrived yet but looking forward to getting them. Did you buy another pair?
Ya know Phil its kinda nice watching ya work with them warm weather clothes on.. id say i miss it but i can say i don't miss it.. now get that 150 cords cut and split and come down fishing. Stay safe ya 2..
Hello Phil and Karen. Sorry to see you were a one man band today. That’s a great idea expanding the wood processing facility. Hope the wood stacking machine agrees with the expansion. More room means more work. You did a great job with handling the video today. Thanks and keep up the good work. Can’t wait to see you playing with the new machine.
Only problem is that I’m bent over clipping the tops of the bags . Gota figure out a rig that will spin the bag at waist height like 2 tires spinning on a gear and set the bag on them to spin it then clip it without being bent over . Always room for improvement.
I love Dana's channel. He is a lot of fun and I love teasing him. You're a lucky man to have him as a friend. I know this because I also have a friend like him. He can build anything and do anything for me. We are blessed. The expansion will be a big help to ya. Keep pointing that finger, practice makes perfect, that's how Todd did it.
We’ve been friends for many years and he’s priceless. I’m lucky to have a few friends just like him but me and Dana go way back. I’ll get that finger thing down sooner or later lol
@@OpenAirAdventure Dana’s about the best friend a guy could want we sure do have fun when we’re doing stuff together . After this next expansion we should be good for a long time . Thanks Kenny
It is great to see Buster is working again. I saw dana's videos. It was great seeing you at Bunyon. When you are in business for yourself, it ois hard to take time off because the work doesn't get done. We have to get our chimney cleaned and get our wood furnace started. It is getting down into the 30's in Ohio at night. Winter is around the corner. We have plenty of wood. Like you, I have run out of places to put it. Split 2 cord of hickory yesterday.
Well it was working but I tryed splitting with buster yesterday and the seal musta let go cause it’s leaking oil at the bottom of the piston . Dana said it’s a 3 hr fix but I’ve got him busy right now expanding our wood yard . Been cool here as well upper 30s at night and only getting into the 50s during the day . Won’t be long a the ground will be covered in snow .
Hi Phil and Karen, Glad to hear Buster is up and running. I can’t imagine you and Dana off camera. We are starting off pretty good with the You Tube channel 3 shorts and 2 videos! Tell Karen behind every successful man is an exhausted woman!!!😅 She will like that. Keep the sawdust flying! Jeff and Jill @Alaska Wood Yard.
We do have a lot of fun lol. I’m sure Karen would agree with you it’s hard keeping me on track haha. Good job getting your channel going we’ll check it out!
Well other than ya can’t see my head in most of the video lol . That’s what happens when Karen’s not around lol . I’m thinking we should have plenty of room when we get this next project done .
Hey, brother. Great to see you again. I like what you did with the bags tilting the barrel 40°. Please tell Karen I missed her today. I hope she's doing well. May God Bless you both richly! Chip
Thanks Chip figured I’d show the bagging detail since that’s what I had to do. We’ve learned a few tricks along the way like tipping the bucket after making several thousand bundles. We’re trying to figure out our new schedule now that she’s working part time It’s a seasonal job so after the holidays we should be back to normal whatever normal is lol. Take care
Phil ,Karen not being able to be helping you out in the wood yard is like having Heckle without jeckle do you remember that cartoon with the two crows 😮😊❤
Hi again. I was interested to know how you did the bottom of the bag material before you loaded it and did the top so that was very helpful knowing that you put the little hog ring on the bottom too. Thanks again, brother! Chip.
Glad we could help Chip. I figured showing the close ups would answer a lot of questions. I’m sure there’s room for improvement but it’s working for us so far
Good stuff, Phil. I am currently outside making bundles of my own while you are making video bundles.😂 you must be good luck because in the time that I have watched your video, my entire Firewood stand just got wiped out by three different people! I guess I’m switching gears like you and going to fill the stand!! Take care👍🏻👍🏻
They showed up and took one look at me and got right back in the car and ain’t been back since . Next help wanted add is going to say farm girls wanted lol .
Good to see that you indeed know all aspects of the business. Sad not to see Karen but understand. Lol, guess she needs a break from you occasionally, huh. Sounded and looked like you were in an excavator. gonna do some earth relocation. Can't wait.
Apologies Mr P I know businesses have to make decisions, at times, that effect the bottom line but in your case the stacker/bagger you let take a part-time gig sure is a lot better looking than the one that is filling in while she is gone! Just my opinion! Great video as always, thank you.
I don’t know Phil if Karen’s leaving you on your own could that be dangerous like she might come out and see some new equipment out there like an excavator or bulldozer or something lol that was a good video and by the sounds of it the both of you will be busier than you already are well I wish you luck on your big adventure of increasing the size of your business and I hope Karen enjoys her new part-time job. You both have a good weekend and be safe PS was your problem in the ram or in the valve body curious to know, thank you Lee Hillsgrove Trucking Singing off 👍
I usually get in trouble when left on my own Lee more work ahead for sure. Karen expects to be surprised when she’s away lol. We’re trying to get this new schedule figured out. A seal failed and the whole piston needed replaced. If you want to see what went wrong and the rebuild you can check out Dana’s video on his S’more Firewood channel. He built Buster and fixes stuff when I break it lol hope all is well with you
Hey Phil, good video on how you make your bags with the hog rings. Are you still buying your hog ring staplers from harbor freight or did you find a better brand. You are so correct on the Wolfe Ridge Bagger to tilt the unit 35-40 degrees to load fast. I’ve been so busy this summer. Take care.
Thanks Al we know all about busy lol. We got the hog rings from the company that make the gun. They give a better price when ordering a couple boxes or more and it’s cheaper than Harbor Freight. Take care
Where do you get the roll of mesh to make the bags. I looked on line but couldn't find it. If could let me know I would appreciate it. Watch your videos all the time. Thanks.
Thanks for watching Edward! We get the mesh from Quadel Industries out of Oregon. They have a website, but you have to call to order. It's been working great for us. Take care!
Hey guys! We use 2, we each have one so you can hear us. The brand we have is Movo, not top of the line but they work well. We may upgrade as we go along but technology is a challenge for us! lol

We cut them 41” long. That leaves about a 4” tail for a grab handle
