  • It's been about 2 years, and a little over 350 hours with the LS Tractor MT342. How's it holding up? Do I have any great complaints?
    ALSO, I've got this nifty tool called the Radiator Genie! Check it out:

    I have a 2011 LS P7010 tractor and I honestly do not recommend buying an LS due to the high cost of parts and lack of support from the company. My tractor came with the place when I bought the property and has less than 1600 hours on it. Recently the thermostat failed. A thermostat is a simple device and usually costs around $30 here in Northern BC Canada. The LS dealer that sold this tractor has gone out of business and there are no dealers in British Columbia. I contacted a dealer in Alberta and was quoted about $600 for the part. LS only offers this part as part of an assembly and won't sell the thermostat separately or provide a cross reference number. I contacted LS USA and a number of LS dealers in the US and was told the same thing. A local New Holland dealer was able to cross the LS part number with a Case number but they also only sell the assembly but it is at least cheaper at $250. LS USA's attitude is that my 12 year old machine is too old to properly support. I have 65 year old baling equipment that I can still get parts for and repair myself. LS should be ashamed of themselves.

    Just a little extra time to drop the loader off and it makes it much easier to access the engine. Glad to hear your unit is doing what it is supposed to. I just picked up the MT345e (2018) with only 63 hours on it for 16,500. Came with a 6' galvanized brush cutter, 60" box blade, and pallet forks. Couldn't pass that up. Looking forward to many hours of fun and useful time on the ranch. Only thing I need to do is add the rear remote and third function so I can get a grapple. Cheers.

    I enjoyed the video. Thinking about getting an LS for our 9.5 acre farmette.

      Definitely cheaper than a back surgery! And more enjoyable.

    I bent my brush guard too so i hooked it up to front bucket with a chain and used hydralics to pull it back straight .keep up the good videos.

    I have a New Holland LS and had the same problem with the alternator belt. I slipped a small rachet strap around it somehow and tightened it to tension the belt, because there is no pry point. I have the radiator genie too, great tool, but I also bought a set of loader cylinder safety stops. I loathe getting under anything supported by hydraulics alone.

    My buddy has the xr4140 which is the previous model of your tractor and he uses an 8 ft heavy disk behind it with no issue, I was very surprised at the power,

    Hey I’m glad you like my uncles tractors 😊. I’ve always wondered what other people think of them. A lot of the design came from his experience with cars when he started out as a cars salesman/mechanic before he founded the business.

      It’s not all good. It need to go to shop now. It’s lost all electrical power. Tractors only has 70hrs on it. For past two years having it I’ve yet to use it during the summer and has lost thousands of dollars due to it being down in the summer months.

      Makes sense. That's why I'm buying Kubota equipment 3 hours away when I have a Kubota dealer 45 minutes away as the closer one is uninformed, doesn't like to find answers and acts like they don't have time for me. Their loss. @@HomesteadBandwagon

    Great info. Have suggestion: Why not do an information book on your LS tractor, from deciding on what tractor to today? Include things you wish you'd could improve, things during buying process for the buyer, etc. Another tractor website sells his book so you could do it for LS tractors?? Thank you

    • @HomesteadBandwagon
      @HomesteadBandwagon  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a good idea! I've got a book I've been slowly cooking on, but that one might be easier to just get on paper and get out the door.

    Not the same tractor but you were talking about your slow loader function, on my MT235HE it's so fast. Too fast. Granted I'm used to my old '97 JD770 slowness but good gravy I can flip an 800lb log round when setting it to the ground if I'm not paying attention and that's at an idle. Definitely a sinus clearer.
    As far as High range mine does bog down quite a bit also. Med is not too bad.

    whose 3 pt hitch connectors did you add to your 3 point hitch? They look much larger and are silver color instead of the stock black color.

    What would happen if I shimmed the pressure relief valve? Have you ever seen that done, was there a performance improvement and what are the risks?

    • @HomesteadBandwagon
      @HomesteadBandwagon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Can't say I have any experience with doing that. I can say that at max capacity, the rear end gets pretty loose and the front axle/steering feels a little stressed even with tire ballast and exra weight hanging on the 3 point. I would be cautious about raising the capacity much higher
