Homestead Bandwagon
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 10 ส.ค. 2020
We're fixing up a 10 acre farm in the Northwest and kinda figuring it out as we go. It's time to join the Homestead Bandwagon!
We'll do product reviews of the tools and machines we're using, show you how we're doing stuff (even though it might be the wrong way), and trying to have a little fun in the process. I work for a outdoor power equipment and tractor shop, so there's bound to be tons of nerdy farm stuff that we get a chance to try out!
We're not independently wealthy, perfect farmers with a beautiful palatial estate. There's tons of stuff to do, and we're gonna try to do it while working full time jobs WITHOUT a team of landscapers, video editors, and a camera crew helping us out. The fact is, rural living is messy - we ain't got time for makeup or fancy cowboy boots!
There may be some Deep Thoughts and anecdotes.

Yakta Zero Turn Mower - Real World Mowing Test and Review
มุมมอง 5K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
Yessir. It's time for a lawn mower review! Yakta is a newcomer to the North American market, making some very heavy duty commercial zero turn mowers. I had the opportunity to test their YXR 610 zero turn mower for a weekend, and it was a WET one! We hadn't had a chance to mow our field or yards for about 2 weeks, so this zero turn really got put to the test! Here's something pretty wild: They o...

4 in 1 Bucket Prototype from Kioti Tractor
มุมมอง 415หลายเดือนก่อน
Raw video of a 4-in-1 loader bucket Kioti has been working on. Although 4 in 1 tractor buckets have been around for a while, you don't see them very often on compact tractors. Usually, you'll see a 4 in 1 bucket on a skidsteer. Anyhow, this is one that can bulldoze, grapple, grade, load and more. No word on if or when it will come out, but it's cool to see!

Diablo Carbide Sawzall Blades VS the cheap stuff
Ethanol seperation?
It’s that new fad; juice cleanse.
It doesn't taste very good- i can tell ya that!
Red dye and coolant? The pink is confusing though.
I thought dye too, but they're not using offroad diesel
how much for the premium?
Maybe what’s changed in the old vs new is the friends the tractor made along the way
I'm just gonna agree and not worry about anything else
Some good looking tractors!
They're eye catching for sure! Everyone who sees them is really impressed by the looks of them.
It’s mower not a brush hog ! And just because it goes 10 mph doesn’t mean it should in those conditions. You need to Mow higher in that stuff and again to get it into manageable shape and not in wet conditions! Cub cadet tank owner!
I watched another video and the side toggle is throttle boost over set rpm for loader work.
Hm. Interesting it did not boost the throttle on this machine
@@HomesteadBandwagon hold switch downwards for 3 seconds to turn that feature on and off
Weird. I just went out to the tractor and tried it. Didn't work.
Hey brother I just bought a mt240e and love it so far but I have a little less than 30 hours on it. I wish you would do a detailed video on the fuel purge and why it's important for these new tractors.
I had a weed eater head that was made out of bicycle chain haven't found those in years I loved that thing it would cut grass with ease and also brush
Live in Minnie Soda for a few years..WWHEW! -20 was coldest, without the wind. Any wind below 32 is cold, but any wind below 0 is $#^**@ cold. No MI gets warmed up by the lakes, get more snow though. Montana is where I'd love to go.
You know it's a lawn mower, not a bush hog.
Koken are good tools, but the PT Cruiser is not a good vehicle.
Greatest American vehicle ever made.
That 6in blade seemed to be for just clean wood. When I saw the title of the vid I was under the impression this was going to be a comparison of Diablo blades vs a cheap Amazon blade I use mostly cheap Amazon blades nowadays for multi tool and 4.5 circular saw and grinder since they get the job done too for cheaper and about the same time (1sec diff with less durability but a massive bundle to really not care)
Since these are common ways people have always used the equipment, should it not be the case that the machine is built to meet the customers needs rather than scolding them for misusing it?
Lots of people use tools incorrectly. That's why lawn mowers have warnings against using them to trim hedges.
@@HomesteadBandwagon I've never read that warning. But, I've also never heard of anyone trying. It's definitely not a common usage. But all the "wrong ways of using" loaders that are shown are absolutely common. They're so common you made video about it. Which, I guess it's a good thing that you did so that people can choose different equipment if they can. But, these loaders are a lot of money and people use them to do everything. So, my statement still seems like a good idea. And I understand that you don't build them, so this isn't necessary aimed at you. Still. Instead of saying that all of those usages are not what the machine can do, maybe they should be made to fit the needs of the consumer. That's what tools are made for.
Great video. What model LS tractor are you running the 72” tiller on?
Finally a video of a human being acting naturally, figuring out things by himself, recording all the process, and speaking freely, no script. Thanks for the video!!! I really appreciate it!
On my Raptor SD, I made the discharge opening 1.75 inches wider
Dry good and fair review.
I live in Virginia and have been looking all over for a mower. I settled on Kubuto, but luckily I found this product I can't wait to purchase one and try it out.
Man I’d buy a tractor from you today. People here aren’t as helpful
Great review! Now to go get busy.
Good video! My gas unit is a KM130R. My parents have a milwaukee string trimmer. The nice thing is, all milwaukee 18 volt batteries are compatible with all milwaukee 18 volt tools.
This seams well done. That sister span was WAYYYYYYYY to far.
No crank ! Not "no start" ....damn it !
I have the zt1 50 standard zero turn, have used it for 4 seasons. It is the best mower i have ever owned and does a terrific job. The only issue i have is the suspension, it beats me to death. Does this mower with the steering wheel have any type of suspension other than the useless hard rubber pieces under the seat.
It was my battery...but only because I had tried to start it so many times with a dud spark plug. So even when it's your spark plug, it's your battery. (Thanks for the video, helped me a bunch!)
I loved the knife at first but after a half session of prying these tiny clips off, the ball flew out and is completely lost on the weld shop floor. It was pretty upsetting to say the least. The Klein bit should fit in its place you think?
I don’t have that one but on hot and humid days mine cuts out when it gets wet. Not dunked in water but cutting wet grass. I like it cause it’s quiet. My gas one has more balls though.
I picked up the Klien to check it out. Yes, the plastic handle edges are a bit rough (flashing from molding process) which is a bit disappointing. Nothing a litle filing/sanding/touch-up with the Dremmel won't solve, but still. C'mon Klien. The release for retracting the driver isn't any worse (maybe a bit) than the Milwaukee. The single Phillips bit isn't a problem for me as I have a rail of those (flat, sq, torx, etc.) usually at hand. The Milwaukee's screw driver is centered nicely whereas the Klien is offset which is disappointing. The Milwaukee has better ergonomics when using the driver as the recess is nice and smooth under the index finger whereas the Klien is back under the middle of the middle or ring finger, and the channel behind the driver tang is wide with sharp(ish) edges. Overall, the Milwaukee Fastbacks have a much more solid feel. The Kien as nice detents at 45 degrees for both the blade and the driver. The Klien's multi 1/4" attachment with magnets is a win compared to the Milwaukee ball detent holder. Finally, he Klien's driver shaft is a bit loosey-goosey and the Milwaukee is solid.
Loading the rock at the end of the video is the #1 mistake most professional and all homeowners make. Quit tilting the bucket, no reason to bog the engine or lift the tires. Should be a smooth movement with almost 0 rpm change. th-cam.com/video/PKT-Mg8clw8/w-d-xo.html
That's why you don't work with little baby tractors. Buy a real tractor and this won't happen.
Your examples of what not to do are simple physics. Newton's Third Law + Common Sense will save you a lot of $$$$. Good video Brother.
So I work as a Groundskeeper at a college we just bought one of these just the other day. I'll get to use it for the first time this week I'll let you know how I like it.
Just got this one to go along with the one without the ratcheting. My two carry arounds.
This was a great video showing the pros/cons/differences. I almost thought something had beat the Milwaukee! But no, I'm content with my many Milwaukee knifes for the time being
I thought I was responding to the add
I have a clean driving record and this is a bunch of bull and a possibly a scam
Baby Boy mfg seen this video and said his warranty is voided!!!😂
Thank you for doing the research for us! I honestly thought these bits would be more common, but upon looking at part stores I could only find longer versions of these double sided bits. Thought I was going to have to do some research but you solved it for us, thank you!! (I have a bad habit of breaking the Phillips side. Which is funny because I use the flat head side to pry things that you'd think would bust it before the Phillips, but nope.)
I've been mowing 25 years and I have never seen a mower stall out in 10 inch tall grass
The new ll1700 & lb1700 Look like the same exact loader & back hoe that’s used on Massey Ferguson 1725mb. But painted blue.

Nice video explaining the boxblade
Has anyone ever done a dpf delete on an Ls? Mines At 1100 hrs and I’m not liking this emissions thing. It’s xr4150
Just like the tools in your shop, it is best to have multiple sizes of wrenches instead of using an adjustable one and I have found multiple tractors is the way to go. I started with a John Deere 43 HP tractor but found that I needed to lift and move big, heavy things so I bought a huge pay loader that can lift 24,000 pounds. Next, I wanted something that could get into tight spaces and plow sidewalks so I bought a John Deere 1025R and this is the tractor I use most. I needed to do some digging but didn't think I was going to do a lot of it so I bought an inexpensive 3-point-hitch backhoe for my 43 HP tractor. This does minor jobs like waterline work but taking out stumps can take all day and I am afraid that the hoe will bend. To solve this problem, I just bought a Caterpillar 50-Ton excavator and this will tear giant stumps out of the ground in one swipe and not break a sweat. As you can see, I love my toys! Did I mention that I have 2 acres? Of course previously I also maintained a 40 acre fairground but now am retired.
I've never heard about their battery systems before but it sounds like each product line had zero discussion with the others ahead of release.
You are the best. Clear, simple instructions.
not the land of the free if you're under control of your government, sounds commuinism
