    Thanks George: This helped me tremendously with my x758 with starting issues. Your diagnostics solved my sporadic starting problem. I replaced my solenoid and now it's working all the time. Udaman!

      Sporadic electrical problems can be very frustrating. Sometimes just unplugging and reconnecting connectors can fix a problem due to a poor connetion. Reading a TM is never as good as a detailed video.

      @@gotdeereshi, my problem with the 2009, 2305 utility tractor with an Yanmar diesel engine with only 745 hours is, it does crank but wont start, it happen once a while back, it didn’t want to start but after a few tries it started and worked fine, then a few days later it did the same thing but this time it wont start, lots of juice in the battery, changed all oils (hydraulic, engine oil, antifreeze coolant and all the appropriate filters) changed the seat for a new JD one. Where should I start looking before sending it to the dealership

    I don't have a John Deere, but a Mustang 2040 skidsteer with the Yanmar 4TNE84 engine. It started to cut out on me and then stopped all together after a minute or so. I tested the wires going it to the Solenoid with a 12 volt light tester. As you explained, the light came on with the white wire for about 2 seconds then went out. The Red also came on but the light went out when the white one did. So, the I bypassed the seat switch as it was the easiest to get to, then the engine ran fine! Thank you for saving a bunch of time & hassle to find the problem.

    Thank you, i blew up one fuel solenoid and did not know why ,, i thought you have pos (white) and neg ( black) red wire did not do anything (i thought) Then it sucked in all good but after 30 seconds boom , i did not know where the red wire went , now i know white is only positive momentary then red stays positive to keep solenoid engaged , so helpfull thanks again

    Thank you so much for the excellent video. Very helpful. I was trying to troubleshoot why my Deere 1445 Front deck tractor would not start, I've been tracing down the fuel system, and came across your video. Sure enough I had one side of the coil / solenoid failed. I followed your Ohm test procedure. I recently ordered new solenoid from Deere dealer, installed, and my machine now runs great. Thank you.

    Outstanding video. This is the kind of info i was trying to get from the tech manual. My tractor starts and runs 3-5 seconds then dies. If I turn the ignition switch on and wait the 3 seconds for the second click, the engine will only crank and never start. My guess it was a problem with the hold-in coil but had no info to test. This was just the procedure I needed. Thanks.

      Glad it was useful. I will be adding another video showing diagnostic steps when a diesel does not start. Yanmar engines are the best.

    Perfect, the new solenoid pulls in and then releases after a few seconds, now I know where to look! (probably didn't need to replace it, but oh well.

    Thank you, i bought a tk270 2 cylinder to build a DC generator for back up power for solar to charge batteries, and i looked everywhere for this information, to hook up all wires that the person took out just went threw and cut all wires.

    Thanks I’m going threw a voltage problem with the white wire the red I’m getting 12v but only 3 on the white not kicking it in

    • @gotdeeres
      @gotdeeres  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The white wire receives voltage from the fuel solenoid controller. That is probably your problem.

    Hi George, I am testing all safety switches so I started by bypassing all the safety switches by hotwiring from ignition to solenoid. Runs fine, but I pulled the solenoid, tested and replaced it. Now, I turn the key and the plunger retracts for a couple seconds. So, while hot-wired I cannot reinstall the new solenoid because when it reextends, it will kill engine. But why, if the seat switch is bypassed?

    I have a 4105, I started it up and smelled something electrical burning followed by some black smoke. Shut it off and now it won’t start.

    I had this fuel shut off problem - took quite a bit of head scratching... turned out my knee had hit the emergency cut off... so obvious after the fact!

    • @pingpong9656
      @pingpong9656 ปีที่แล้ว

      BTW - is the emergency shut off part of this or is that a direct mechanical mechanism?

    • @gotdeeres
      @gotdeeres  ปีที่แล้ว

      At least it did shut off. I have a friend with a Kubota BX25 that does not shut off. I will be making a video for that problem.

    I'm not believing the seat interconnect with the solenoid starting function because I can start the tractor without sitting in the seat. The seat safety switch only matters if the PTO is also engaged.

    • @gotdeeres
      @gotdeeres  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oops. As long as the parking brake is ON, the tractor will start regardless if there is an operator in the seat or not. Then seat switch kills the tractor when the parking brake is off and the operator leaves the seat.
