Ellen MacDonald and Daimh where have you been my whole life?? I LOVE your voice and style and the band is amazing. Great songs. Greetings from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
ELLEN I saw you at Eigg you were transcendental...I told you so...I like the tears coming up in your een in the last song..you make me sad and happy with your gift xx
I was liking it with just "Cuir a-nall," but upon my word, when they started getting into "B'fearr mar a bha mi 'n uiridh" and "A chur nan gobhar as a' chreig", I positively whispered out loud, "YES!" Such good puirt-à-beul. 😍
My favorite trad combo. Publish your lyrics you wankers! Tradition is for passing on not to hide under your pillow so you can be the special snowflake. If youve got the talent youve nothing to worry about.
+DaimhMusic Yes but they can die out. Especially in the digital age. Languages are dying out rapidly all over the world. Obscure but lovely traditional songs could die as well. I sing with my son in the home. I would like to teach it to him and sing it together but were obviously not native Gallic speakers. If it wasnt for Child documenting songs wed not have nearly as many wonderful trad songs as we do today. Ill live without the songs. But I believe people that means you should share the lyrics. Thats just what we do.
Ellen you sing like an Angel but you need to have more confidence. Own the stage and make it yours mattter whats going on. Then the crowd eat out of your hands
