    Good morning
I have an audi allroad 2.5 tdi I would like to change the geargox automatic to manual.
What should I change in the wiring.

I have a B7 S4 Audi Avant with the tiptronic and despite driving manual
my entire life (almost 37 years old) the tiptronic is still fun!
However.. I definitely started to enjoy the tiptronic much more once I got
my Audi straight piped. Deleted the resonators and the mufflers and now
when I'm in tiptronic mode it's much more enjoyable to drive.
When I was a bit younger I'd NEVER drive a car that was an automatic.
I'd simply refuse. But the tiptronic isn't the same. It actually allows you to
interact with the car a bit more and makes it way more enjoyable but at the
end of the day I'd rather have a manual still. But ONLY because I can't rev up
my car when at a stand still without throwing the car into park which I'd never
bother doing. Some cars like the C8 Vette allow you to hold in both paddles
and you can still rev up the car as if you were pushing in the clutch of a manual.
Wish my S4 could do that but I still love it! Even today it only has 65k original
    miles despite being a 2006. 😎

Downshifts are slow but up shifts are pretty smooth and quick.I always pull on my friends s4 and his is a year newer than mine. Americans have a weird fetish with manuals

Because theyre fun and engaging, nothing weird about enjoying a perfect rev-match that took practice to get. Driving a manual car hard is a lot more fun than driving an auto

@@MrGamelover44 “fun” is subjective. It isn’t fun being in bumper to bumper traffic, and it isn’t fun losing to Automatic cars all the time so I don’t see your point at all

Dude acting like he can just bang gears in a manual lol. Not as easy as you think. Complaining about like 1 second of lag lol ..... try a real manual I guarentee it aint faster.

The tip really isn't too shabby, but I can't take a "review" seriously from someone who doesn't look like they even have a license XD. Sorry lol

You can swap that handle. My car has an aftermarket one.

i have a C5 allroad with a similar tiptronic. I honestly like it. it's fine. The reason i hate it though, is that they tend to grenade themselves because the torque converters stop locking. and they also leak out the output shaft. but that's whatever. I'm saving up to manual swap it, as i already have the torque converter fault since i bought the car and the tip is basically a ticking timebomb now.

Funny thing is, it's a 5 dollar seal which gives you the p0741 I believe the code is. I remember a decade or so ago, that was my TC code on my allroad.

Basically, a video to substantiate the removal of the 5sp Tip, and installation of the 6Sp M/T.....
Just keep in mind that even the 6sp M/T has its weak (er) points. ie.. shift collars.. I am sure at the end of the day, you'll research everything... Good Luck, man!!!

Haha Thank you! I mainly made this video to give my honest opinion on it, and I personally want a 6 speed instead of the tiptronic. I was lucky enough to be able to pick up an 01E with only 90k on it, and they shift collars are in great shape so I don't have to worry about those for some time

I have a B5 S4 Avant with the tiptronic trans. I don’t really have any complaints except shifting speeds with a stock TCU. I was able to make 305whp & 377wtq on a completely stock tiptronic with 200k+ miles. I now have a tuned TCU, Built valve body, upgraded clutch packs, and a built torque converter plus a rebuild kit (seals and what not)
to handle more power with my new SRM K24’s. You can follow my car TH-cam page to see more of my build in the future @carlifechannel 🤘🏼

How much difference does the tuned TCU make? I would be really interested to see how more quickly it shifts with the tune

After my my tip was tuned it was way better in manual and auto mode. I only hate when in service mode bc of the trans cooler lines.

  • @smrsocmoneyracing2552
    @smrsocmoneyracing2552 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Down shift is good but up shifting sucks. Also, it trans brakes alot. I often put it in neutral to get a good downhill coast. If not, the trans automatically slows the car down.
