Your gonna love the 6 speed. It completely transforms the car.

Only thing I’d mention is going with a continental timing belt. I’ve heard of the blue ones squeaking on cold start, just my two sense. Would hate to have an annoying noise after all that work

i live in CO - it gets pretty cold. i hope it doesnt squeek. My new timing belt is a Gates belt. only the serpentine belt is continenntal.

@@49Motors it will definitely squeak when it’s cold. I’d just grab a conti belt from Fcp euro they’re only like $35 on there

It's a pita to work on. But nice you got a manual swap going. It's worth it. Engine pull is something you should not be afraid of when owning a s4. I pulled mine already 4 times, and over 10 s4 engines in total. My fastest record was 2,5h, than the engine was out. Everything is straight forward, but the axles and propshaft makes this time consuming.

yea i better get used to it hah! 10 times is crazy. at first i used to dread removing the front end and now thats the easy part. but once you can do that these cars are easy to work on.

Thanks for the supportive feedback, dawg. I bought the 01e from Jake - a friend in the b5 community here in Denver.

Keep the tip steering wheel and wire something into the shift buttons. Look into a steel flywheel rs4 luk clutch and pressure plate kit. Machining those flywheels dont always work how you think it will. Might want to delete the air injection pump since its useless if ya can. Hope ya got the wiring harness and cluster as well. Love to see more on this as I'm doing this as well in Northern Colorado. Been a project that's finally getting attention again. Wish ya luck.

I would love to wire something cool into it or if i could program it to control my radio volume. My tip wheel is in very good condition. I do have SAI block off plates. I also ended up buying a new luk fly wheel along with a oem rs4 clutch. I would love to keep my oem cluster. Im considering sending it to Cluster Modz Co so he can put in a custom LCD screen. I'm saving that for my interior mods though. I want b6 recaros in the future and much more

Im going to attempt to wire the rest on my own. I have ecu pin outs. My harness is in very good condition, so I would hate to swap it out for the usual dry rotted worn ,broken harnesses out there. Or pay an arm and a leg for a good one. I do have all the necessary pig tails to wire the ecu pin outs. Good luck with your manual swap man! It look intimidating but, one step at a time!

@Ivan_Lara nice! Sounds like a plan. I just yanked the cluster ecu and harness when I gutted the 6 speed to try and make it easier. That cluster didn't have dead pixels either which I've never seen lol. My motor and trans will be going in here soon. Have a set of srm ko4 hybrids I'm chucking in as well. They are used with 20k supposedly but I'm putting in new center sections. Not risking the nightmare of not knowing for sure. There's no in and out play but if you push on the side hard enough they do scrape but no evidence of sidewall scraping inside. The 6 speed ecu was a basic stage 2. Not worried about fueling at the moment. This project is a long time coming. I held on to it despite almost selling it. Mine is santorin with all black. I couldn't find a manual in that color for the life of me and this car only had 60k and new ko3s back in 2007. Has about 90k now and before I started the swap I was complete stage 2+ but of course the torque converter didn't like that even with tcu programming. Car was too clean and the motor was babied to let it go. I'm sure you know how it is. Where in Colorado are ya? I'm Loveland/fortcollins area.
