Hello! It would be best to add stitches to the foundation chain to start :) Maybe add the same amount of chains on both sides (ex. - CH11, HDC into CH11-) Or if the doll is ~17cm, I would size up my yarn & hook! (#5 Yarn, 4-5mm hook)
