the armpit stab isn't weird; it's actually what samurai did, back when they were a thing, in order to penetrate the weak points of their armor. Fun fact.
Yeah, it's not weird, if you read about medieval combat, lot of knights actually died this way, because it was one of the very few weak spots in overall highly protective armor. Knights would get dagger in armpit and bleed to death.
I found myself liking this film more than I thought I would. Despite some of the plot holes, the first scenes with the confrontation with the first responders was pretty darn cool. We've seen Michael go after groups before, but usually he separates a couple of law enforcement and dispatches them one by one. Plus, I liked both their reaction and the way it was filmed from different POVs. Based on her speech and Michael's subsequent almost-miraculous revival, I feel like you're right and they're setting it up to have Laurie die in order for Michael to do so. I also feel like it's going to be something cheesy like her promising him that he won't have to be alone or hugging it out with the power of love as they burn together or something like that.
@@zombiegunner3arc82 omg, the cop who can not shoot, to begin with, I think he had higher chances of hitting if he had closed his eyes, lmao, and I cracked up when he murdered his partner cop, it was obvious that's where it was going, tbh, then hilariously proceeds to shoot at the walls. Teleporting Michael was even less likely to disappear than it was presented in previous movies, but whatever, that's when I decided to watch the movie as a gore comedy and it was fantastic! Not as a Halloween movie per see, just a funny take on it, like the Haunted Mansion movies.
Even though it was spoiled in the trailer, Michael’s entry out on Laurie’s porch in the flames was really badass. I grimaced throughout the kills which yeah were worth the price of admission. Yeah many of the victims did stupid things, but that does kinda work in terms of how mob mentality can make people act impulsively and be dumb; if you disagree that’s fine 🙂
For me that is where the film was ruined. All of the good work they did in the 2018 film was undone at that point. All of a sudden he is the Terminator/unstoppable robot again as seen in the dreadful sequels. He is meant to be a stealthy, almost ghost-like presence that appears and disappears in the shadows.
Haddonfield: “Evil dies tonight!” Michael: *and I took that personally* Jokes aside I thought the movie was alright and understood it needed to bridge 2018 to Halloween Ends and not have a conclusion. The kills were seriously brutal and made me feel uneasy especially Cameron’s, and how Michael was so unstoppable and relentless made it terrifying imo. I also love how they did the 1978 flashbacks and made them look so authentic to the original!
Can’t help to think they wanted us to root for Michael when he put his mask back on with the mob…and then after the beating,in my mind at least, he takes a moment and says “ My turn…”
I wish they were not even able to get him to the ground during that mob scene. Would have been so much more badass if they were hitting him with everything and still couldn't drop him
I do agree, it didn't add much to the franchise itself from the way it's pointing from Halloween (1878), Halloween (2018), and Halloween Kills. But I still just love this movie. I throughly enjoy sitting down and just watching these kills and how creative they can get. I have so much fun watching Michael and rooting for him to get more lol
Considering the return of Chucky, Michael Myers, and Candyman in 2021, it makes me wonder how a modern revival of either Jason Voorhees or Freddy Krueger would look like. Hell, even Scream is coming back next year.
The townsfolk: "Hey look Michael is getting back up, lets attack him one at a time even tho we vastly outnumber him" " Oh look Janice just got brutally killed , let me not call the police or run away I wanna attack next because EVIL DIES TONIGHT!"
If I was one of them, preferably the one with the pistol, when Michael was briefly down, I would have then emptied every remaining bullet I had into his head at point- blank range. See him get back up from THAT!
With the erasure of 2 I feel the impact of his attack 40 years ago is minimal. Maybe Tommy and Lindsay, but Lonnie? That one small event just screwed him up that bad? Still enjoy seeing him on screen again.
While Kills was a step down from 2018 (which was excellent), I still liked plenty about it, particularly the cinematography. Even 10 minutes into the movie, I could see the care the people behind the camera were taking in some scenes. The framing, the balance, the parallelisms, ugh, I loved the camerawork so much.
"It's just weird that he posed this in the loving display." I mean....isn't that exactly what happened in the original with the tombstone and the "ghost" in the corner?
I don’t think he saw the movie. Or at least didn’t pay much attention. He also messed up by saying little John died then Big John but it was the other way around. I think people are being a bit critical about a slasher movie. Great kills, girl running scene, dumb characters. Rinse and repeat.

at 15:03 you said Karen "oddly goes to look in the house" ... in that shot she sees a young Michael in the clown suit standing in the window.. no one is mentioning that part of the movie, its not a flashback its in real time... why did Karen see that if Michael is a human and not "the shape"? I'm asking a serious question since every review I've seen is omitting this one big part of the 3rd act.. i thought it was proof Michael is cursed like the town , just doomed to repeat this cycle of violence every year, on the same day .. in the same house...
I think you're reading too much into it. Young Michael wasn't a ghost or something Karen or anyone actually saw. The big reveal of this movie is that Michael doesn't give a shit about Laurie, he just wants to go home and will kill anyone in his way to get there. That scene was to bring home the fact that his first kill was when he was 6, a scared and mentally unstable child who needed help. Hawkins doubles down on this fact by revealing why he stopped loomis from killing Michael in '78, that he was a mother's son. This movie both humanized and demonized Michael. Hey Foundflix, First of all I want to say that I really enjoy your content. I feel like your videos are what I always go to after watching a scary movie so I can understand it more deeply. With that being said, there is a movie that I am surprised hasn't warranted a episode yet. There is a movie called "The Lighthouse" that I watched a while ago and I find that there is relatively little videos on it regarding any theories or explanations. Particularly, I would love to hear what it is you think was actually in the lighthouse itself. Anyways, this comment will probably get lost among the rest, either way you make awesome content! Just thought I'd take a shot in the dark and make a request.
I still really enjoyed the movie compared to some of the later entries in the original series, and especially compared to Rob Zombie's Halloween 2. Ever sense 2018 released I found it strange not to include Halloween 2 into this new "canon". Laurie being Michael's sister was always a plot point I liked, and having Michael kill even more on his single night of terror makes the town folks fear a little more justified(especially Laurie's). The plot of this movie wasn't the greatest, but plot is liked the 3rd thing on my list for a horror movie, so it doesn't hurt my enjoyment that much.
I like your point of view on the movie. Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed it, I'm not into all that "getting deep" into the plot thing like he is and etc. I just like a good horror film with some standard plot and maybe a plot twist here and there. I feel that going in depth about the plot and scrutinizing it just ruins the movie , like having a bittersweet taste in your mouth.
I hated the Rob Zombie's reboot when they make Michael looks like a 7 foot killer. I mean Michael is my favorite legendary slasher killer since he had so many sneaky kills and lurking in the background scenes. So it is hard for me to believe that a mammoth size of a man can move and sneak in a lot of place for his kills like for example entering or going out of an open window without making any noise.
I don't know why people cling to the sister angle. It was made up just to give Michael motivation to continue stalking Laurie for a movie Carpenter didn't even want to make. The whole point in the original is that he targeted Laurie simply because she reminded Michael of Judith. She was always incidental.
@@multitudeofidols yeah, but with the first movie on it's own the people in 2019 & Kills are irrationally scared. Especially the kids. Sure they were young, but none of them actually saw Michael kill anyone, and he didn't try to kill them(he was after Laurie). The sister bit would just be a consequence of making their fear justified(since more people were killed over the course of that night). Yeah Laurie's friends were killed, and Michael then went after her, but that's no reason for the rest of your life to be ruined(especially since it was only for a couple(minutes). Now being attacked at a house you considered safe, then being attacked at a hospital you'd usually consider being even more safe all in a single night on top of the death of your friends, and those around you would scar you, but the icing on the cake would be learning that the monster that tried to kill you was your brother. All of that justifies her fear especially, because you then have to factor in that she could fear herself, or her children, grandchildren, etc. becoming monsters like Michael. The brother storyline just justifies things more.
I think I kinda noticed that in the opening with the jack'o lanterns starting with one lightly lit one before moving to a completely ignited one represents previous sequels and probably the jacks themselves representing Michael over the years.

Despite what they say, I can see something like the Cult Of Thorn coming up. As for Michael being the embodiment of evil, then surely that means he's supernatural anyway! For the record, Ive really enjoyed both movies. Let's hope they don't screw up part 3.
They wanted to go back to basics with this trilogy, and that's why they have a scene where Michael fights a bunch of firemen who randomly start acting like a gang from the Warriors.

the armpit stab isn't weird; it's actually what samurai did, back when they were a thing, in order to penetrate the weak points of their armor. Fun fact.
And bonus fun fact there's also an artery there that can lead to very quick death when severed
I remember last time someone got stabbed like that was when Wolverine got stabbed by X-24 in Logan

Haddonfield: “Evil dies tonight!”
Michael: *and I took that personally*
Jokes aside I thought the movie was alright and understood it needed to bridge 2018 to Halloween Ends and not have a conclusion. The kills were seriously brutal and made me feel uneasy especially Cameron’s, and how Michael was so unstoppable and relentless made it terrifying imo. I also love how they did the 1978 flashbacks and made them look so authentic to the original!

At least we know, without a doubt, that Halloween Ends is actually coming out and will conclude the story. Everybody is just hoping dune will be finished.
Despite what they say, I can see something like the Cult Of Thorn coming up. As for Michael being the embodiment of evil, then surely that means he's supernatural anyway! For the record, Ive really enjoyed both movies. Let's hope they don't screw up part 3.
Dbd canon confirmed?

They wanted to go back to basics with this trilogy, and that's why they have a scene where Michael fights a bunch of firemen who randomly start acting like a gang from the Warriors.
Lol my thoughts exactly
He became a Ronin 🤣
Michael "Wick" Myers.

Your voice is so soothing. Especially when breaking down movies bit by. Bit
Thought this movie was WILD lol. Especially the part where Myers even gets his own John Wick-like scene, after that i dont think i can take Michael Myers film the same again
From what I've seen about this movie the Monster Michael Myers does nothing but creates a bunch of other monsters when the town of Haddonfield turns into a gigantic lynch-mob. And it also shows what happens when there's unfocused rage.
I'd say he creates a bunch of idiots more than monsters. The characters in this movie got mega dumb
@@BehPoker yeah fair enough but they killed an innocent person. So it just showed what unfocused rage can cause. And they seriously hint that Michael Myers is some type of supernatural entity and maybe his very presence can provoke this type of anger and violence, sort of like IT.
@@grapeshot so they gave an origin for Michael? I thought the reason why you idiots loved him was because of him not having an origin?
@@GODCONVOYPRIME We've known his origin for the last forty or so years. Also there's no need to be rude, my guy
@@GODCONVOYPRIME he still doesn’t have an origin
I like that first guy misses with his shots and Michael gets him.
I still liked it
And I liked how laurie wasnt the only one traumatized by Michael
I wished they would of kept in the part that she’s the younger sister 🤷🏻♂️
@@Reclipsegaming I somewhat agree, but I like how michael is more of a force of nature than a man.
It isnt personal when a tornado destroys your house, and she was in the wrong place at the wrong time
@@alexberlanga9977 but they really really try to piece Laurie and her family with Michael like there is some kind of connection. And with Jamie Lee Curtis as one of the executive producers, why would she want her whole characters background changed.
My other gripe I have with Halloween is that is supposed to take place 40 years after the first film. Like he only went on one killing spree and that’s it. But when those podcasters came with the mask. He stood there and everyone was so afraid like he has been this unstoppable killing machine with decades of murders on his hands. Idk 🤷🏻♂️ like I feel like they take stuff away from the character but also wanna build up the suspense

Imagine being his neighbor and seeing a guy with a Michael Myers mask with a knife outside your house walking around 😅
Little John and Big John kills were backwards. Little John finds Big John dead, then Michael gets him.
This decade is the OG Horror retribution
I watched this with my dad. He watched all of the past Halloween movies. I didn’t. I was just expecting violence lol. BUT here’s my overall opinion: People in horror movies are still stupid. It was a great movie in terms of violence, kills, intensity, and brutality but the people not decapitating Michael was just plain stupid, which is the point but it icks me lol
I completely agree.
It's stupid that no one ever thinks to double tap in any of these movies. And the people complaining about this movie are just as bad it's like they signed up for it, they should know what to expect at this point. This is why I think the Halloween franchise sucks, lazy ass writing.
@@GODCONVOYPRIME what would double tapping do? They do that to him but he still gets back up
@@GODCONVOYPRIME well if you don't like Halloween then Why TF do you still watch them?
Me when they had Michael on the ground with a crowd of people full of weapons and stopped attacking when he stop moving: what are you doing keep killing him
11/10. Cant get over how good this movie is. I want to watch it again already
When you come up against Michael Myers and are fully aware of how unstoppable he is you don't stop at a double tap you keep cutting and burning til there's nothing left.
The hospital scene with all the people gave me a panic attack.
That awkward interview with Mike is hilarious hahahaha
Plot twist:
Michael catches COVID-19 and dies in the final part because they coughed inside his mask while it was off.
😂😂😂
Ha!
ya'll are laughing now, just wait..
@@agris8859 Wait for what?

Triggered that you disrespected the order of little John and big John deaths after you said they were your fav kills. On another note those Loomis shots looked so good.
I heard people cheered when Loomis showed up in the flashbacks because it looked so good and was a nice little honor to the character to have him back.
Imagine being triggered
@@ace-ww4pc imagine replying on a comment for attention when the person who originally commented CLEARLY wasn’t actually triggered. If I was that serious I wouldn’t have followed it up with a trivial statement about the cinematography. Chill Ace don’t be so literal

@@ace-ww4pc you trolling? 🤔
Okay I'm just glad I'm not the only one who wasn't really into this movie... I was so excited for it because I truly believed the 2018 movie was an amazing way to bring Lori back and to tell her story in today's world, but this movie just felt like a crazy free for all and I know a lot of the characters were brought back from the original and some haven't acted in a long time if ever, but the acting was subpar at best... it just felt corny to me... really hope they tie it together well with the next movie cause honestly the 2018 movie woulda been a great way to end the Halloween saga
Trying to figure out the cheesy little flaws about . " Why he can't die" is what makes the movie good to me you kind of have to overlook those things I'm just realized Michael Myers is a force that is unearthly unstoppable.
