    what a great idea I'm looking to make a tractor and UTV mount for my saws and most of them seem to be over $100. This will be great. So simple.

      Thanks. It's really shocking how much they want for a scabbard or mount. Good luck with yours.

    I was looking for some ideas to make a scabbard to carry my saw on our small trailer, and found your channel. Very good video, good idea. Another thought I have used for many years is a section of 4" fire hose. Have a super day.

    good job , i made a couple 3-4 year ago , but i used 3 '' abs pipe , took about 10 min in oven at 400 degrees with a 1/2 '' spacer then , i bolted (used brass toillette flange bolt)on my skidoo and on a quad , hit trees, flip nothing will ever break abs chainsaw holder.

    With bucket scabbards running up to $300 or more, I think your method, with few additions, will help me make a nice bucket scabbard economically. I'll just cut some shims for the mouth to keep it flared a bit at the opening to make it easier to drop the saw into it. This will be nice accessory for our new 60' lift!

    Simply brilliant! I was looking fora cover for my 10" pole saw, but apparently they don't make covers for that size and I didn't want to use a longer one. This one is simple and cheap. Thanks for posting!

    I soaked it down with WD40 overnite then beat it out with some 1/4" bar stock. Fits perfectly!! THANKS for the idea.

    I made one for my 10" Remington electric. I used 2"PVC but my form was 3 1/4" wide. After 25 minutes in a 250 degree oven I thought it was good to go. I had to pound the form into the pipe then I put it in the vise between 2 3/4" scraps of plywood. Now I can't get the form out!! I guess I'll be spending some time in the shop with a long chisel.

    I just tried this and i must have used a thicker pipe or board because it got stuck on the board and I had to reheat it. The second time I tried it without a form and that was a mistake as it got stuck on the first 3 inches of teeth lol I had to take the bar off nd smack the pipe a few times with a mallet to get it lose. Next time im making a better form hahaha

    I once had to bend a 4 inch diameter piece of pvc pipe and I stuck it on the tail pipe from my truck, it turned it into a wet noodle.
    The bell on the end shrank a bit and I had to cut it off and use a coupling, it was electrical pvc for wires.

    • @SoatMon
      @SoatMon  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's interesting, had not thought of heating it that way. Thanks for watching!

      @@SoatMon I really don't mean to call you out, thing is that I heard you so much that, you really got to me with it, and am so poor man, I just bought 3 at $115, two of them worked as soon as I tested them home. One had the purge bulb broken, so I ordered (20 bulbs alone, and 10 complete purges, because I also acquired 3 weed eaters and one trimmer and we need to learn purge/primer bulb scare going to fail so, purchase what we'll need to repair them once they call for a repair, and those parts take time to arrive from eBay etc. So that's one of the chainsaws, broken bulb so I couldn't try to start it but two worked, I even got to cut some wood with one, a Homelite. Now, the other two are Ryobis; an 18" (which doesn't has bar/chain/scabbard-just purchased a chain, am searching for an 18" Ryobi guide bar and scabbard) and a 20" bar, which had at point of sell the purge bulb broken but has the bar, chain, scabbard everything. The three have boxes but only one, the 18" Ryobi is missing the bar and scabbard, chain is coming. Now, that 18"(all this megaparagraph is to tell you, that that 18", as soon as I crank it, ran so good, but sooo good, that I was in love with it. So few days later, look what logic, love and gratefulness do in my mind, I said "am gonna remove the 18" purge bulb and place it in the 20" one". I took apart the 20" parts to learn how to get to the purge. I set up another little table to do the same with the 18" one and guess what I decided? I said "To do, this 18" one ran sooo good man, am not gonna mess with it. I'm going to wait for its bar, chain, to install them and use it." Then will come the scabbard(chain and bar cover). May be stupid from me but, thing is I really don't want to, trying to fix one, jeopardize the impressive performance of another that only needs its bar and chain to cut wood.
      And I purchased them on that price, $35 each, because I really can not afford a Huqs now, if not, I'll go for Huqs, oh yeah, but I can't so, am super grateful, am bringing them back (the Homelite purge broke few days later while I was trying to regulate it) so am waiting on my parts to come(the weed eaters have their similar stories, am bringing them back. There's only one that works, the trimmer is getting better, it works but is an old Stihl am trying to learn how to use it, no labels so am learning at trial and error and trying to regulate them, learning as I go but man, am super grateful because that is what I can afford. So do your best because then what is going to happen? Some at least may tell us where is or are more, sometimes cheaper! Take care!
