JMAC, bro I am really happy to see you are doing what can only be referred to as a series breaking all this down for folks. I think there are a lot of people that can benefit from what you are doing. Everyone wins. Even if they are not a large seller, the info is helpful for anyone. I look forward to the rest. Keep it up!
@@JMacSportsCards That is the only way to be IMHO. I sort of play my own beat a bit as well and really get it. It feels more genuine that way as well! You have always been genuine but just saying it feels more like. "Hey guys lets chat a bit" which is super cool
Great content for newer sellers. When you upgrade to a fujitsu you can safely run almost any raw card through it and have ran multi hundred dollar vintage cards through mine with no issue. Just upgraded to the 8170 from the 7160 I have been using for years.
@@eastcoastbreakclub8658 hoping to get back there to a show in March. Will try to come once a year probably, will announce it on the channel when details get finalized!
Man it's so nice to see falling snow. I don't get that here in warm and sunny LA. You're shed is cool and private, great working area and a escape from the family lol. This is good content again Jason, i always like to see new stuff and not that repeat shit we see everyday, giving us other small channels things to make content on and to brainstorm and come up with our own version how to sell on platforms. Keep it going brother
Yeah I started this partly because I got really tired of Sports Card content, that is so regurgitated, fake, negative, or just boring AF really. The hobby really needs some original content that provides more value, that's what I'm trying to accomplish. Yeah the snow is beautiful but so dang cold cant even enjoy it. It's 1 degree Fahrenheit today here where Im at....yikes.
I use the Fujitsu 8170 and it saves alot of time, I scan 'raw', I found that when you scan in penny sleeves and top loaders, every little scratch or wrinkle shows on the scan and that may impact value (or interested parties may want you to send pics without the covering which takes too much time). I trialed Card Dealer Pro and decided not to continue with it as I sell mostly ultra modern cards and the AI was incorrect on the ID of alot of parallel cards. Now I just find a recently sold or listed comp card in Ebay, hit 'sell similar', and upload the pics. Then I Save for Later and fill in the shipping, pricing, format, etc., in 'bulk edit' after I've uploaded a batch of cards. I also sprinkle in 7 day 99 cent auctions, about 100 a week, as I find that you will get an average of 'market' value most of the time and the inventory turns much quicker. Sometimes you sell for 99 cents but you do get multiple bidders on items and it can sell for way more than you would have priced it as a BIN based on comps. Rather than do 15% off coupons on BINs, I just price about that above the recent comps and allow offers. Thanks for the content, always open to picking up new ideas from the battle tested...also on shipping for cards I know will sell under $19.99, I price shipping at $1.00 for 1 ounce PWE in a white standard envelope, I ship in a top loader wrapped in invoice copy. Postage is $0.57, envelope maybe a nickel, top loader $0.08, so maybe I make another $0.25 or so after Ebay takes their 12% shipping fee.
Thanks for the feedback, great insights. Definitely looking forward to upgrading to a Fujitsu 8170, hoping to get one in the next 3 months or so. Yeah Card Dealer Pro doesn't work for every situation for sure. I have also learned to organize what I am using CDP for by product and year ahead of time and then it makes it much more seamless. But you're right you can also just as easily look up cards and list with the scans. All the best!!
Hey JMac, thanks for the content. I'm trying out Card Dealer Pro now and I feel they still need more work with the efficiency. I spend more time than I believe is needed to rotate pics because some didn't scan correctly and updating cards that didn't match. Maybe there is a way to rotate easier; however, the way I need to do it is rotate in my file and then once its listed on ebay I need to delete the pics that uploaded on ebay and add the ones in my file. You would think if I rotated it in the file before uploading to card dealer it will show the correct pic rotation, but it doesn't. I'm thinking about trying Krono out. Do you have any thoughts or help?
You might want to switch to a flat bed scanner. That way you don’t run the risk of damaging cards. I use a high resolution Epson v600 photo. It was worth the investment
I have a Fujitsu and have messed around with scanning and Card Dealer Pro, but I haven't figured it all out yet. I'm looking forward to seeing your process!
Apex cards had a listing video & he uses a Epson DS-10 & mentioned in his video that he removed a metal bar from the scanner to get thicker cards to go through without being damaged. Don't know if this will be the same for your type, but you might check.
This is the content the hobby needs! Not 100s of videos about backyard breaks loaded boxes lol. You have any problems with PWE tracking? I've ran into a few problems here and there where it never says delivered but I'll get positive feedback from the buyer haha but I've also had no delivery updates and buyers requesting refunds. Part of doing business I suppose.
Tracking is minimal on PWE but their insured up to $20 can’t lose with the eBay standard envelope. If they say they never received it after a couple weeks just file a claim and get refunded
have you tried the Krono program too? was curious about a comparison between them. im looking into a scanner and one of the apps to ramp this up and save time
I have not, heard its pretty good as well. Big thing about Card Dealer Pro, they recently got acquired by CollX which was already pretty big, so I think Card Dealer Pro with the capital infused from CollX will grow to be a pretty amazing platform. That is why I just went ahead and went all in with Card Dealer Pro.
Why do you sell cheap cards? BECAUSE YOU CAN!!😂 Just subbed to you. Wanting to get rid of my collection. I even found about 40 hobby boxes I forgot I had. I stopped opening packs when I ran out of binder space…10 years ago😅
Already broke even, some of these are remnants of collections I bought from the past couple years, sent the stuff that was bigger and grade worthy, and sold it all, sold all the big raw cards, now every penny is profit. It's a longer process, hang in there and keep grinding if you really enjoy it! Happy holidays!
You can use a website to generate custom SKU's just google eBay SKU generator, there is even a Google chrome plugin. On Card Dealer Pro it custom generates them and is customizable in the settings.
