    Blame the pandemic, compare the UK’s situation to other countries and normalise it, divide the public and the strikers into separate groups to give the impression they’re not the same. Give the impression they want to fix the NHS while providing the conditions to destroy it. Why are these people running the UK again?

    This is NOT happening all over Europe. I live in central Europe and follow all European news. The reason for the disaster in the NHS is the fact that the Conservative government has run it down to the extent that not only are there not enough hospitals and therefore hospital beds available but huge deficits of doctors, nurses, carers, drivers and all those essential for it to work. Couple that with poor wages at the bottom of the scale and poor conditions and you have the cause of the situation today. EVERY bit of this was foreseeable but the Conservatives DELIBERATELY turned a blind eye.

    Writing from Germany, I can assure you that Steve Barclay is wrong to say that the public health situation here is in any way comparable to the crisis in England / Britain. Indeed, viral deseases are spiking across Europe, and some regions experience high usage of hospital beds. However, regional cooperation and the system of GPs ensures that the waiting times for treatment, in particular for serious deseases, are much shorter and there is no talk of excess mortality.

    Two days ago I lay in an ambulance outside A and E for 5 hours after having Covid at Christmas followed by two seizures this week which resulted in a head injury too. The staff were great. I wonder how Sunak would feel in a cold wind trying to stand up eating a paper covered sandwhich and get to a toilet without keeling over., I have been a nurse for 44 years and know our pay is 40 years behind. I have worked for years seeing bed blocking and mismanagement making our job a sad and risky one. Well this episode has now ended my career so maybe the Government would be happy to hear that one less nurse to worry about. Steve Barclay is 50 years old. When he was born I was thinking about becoming a nurse.

    • @razachaswills5076
      @razachaswills5076 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree totally with you, but your blaming the wrong person. It’s the excessive and inefficient admin that’s to blame. Look at all the money wasted on excessive admin! Who kept you waiting 5hrs in the ambulance. Not the Govt, it was the admin at the top. You must be aware of the growth in paperwork during your time as a nurse, the inefficiency is gross. Excessive Money spent on furniture, pictures, PAPERWORK, ADMIN, and it’s self preservation. This is what needs changing.
      Get rid of the hundreds of thousands doing unnecessary paperwork and you will have the money to improve nurses wages and improved efficiency. The NHS needs its top management completely overhauled and drastically reduced. Controlling top consultants, must be made to work full time at NHS hospitals, and held to account for their performances, and not allowed to spend most of their time working in Private hospitals. No one can work efficiently for two masters.

    On the 19th of december i had a heart attack(being a typical bloke thought it was indigestion to start with) after 2 hrs decided it was not.So off i went to the doctors they gave me an ECG and i was having a heart attack,they called for an ambulance after another 2 hrs no ambulance!! So the doctors then drove me to the hospital having forewarned them of my imminenet arrival i was then given 2 stents and am still alive.If a heart attack called by a doctor takes over 2+ hours for an ambulance to arrive(Hospital is 15 mins drive away) and could have been longer,what the hell is this moron talking about.I am still waiting for a response from the ambulance provider as to the reasons for this delay(maybe they hope i will go away a.k.a. die ) and the complaint will be no more.the system is broke under the tory govt plain and simple and no matter how many examples are given they refuse to accept it.

    How bad must he be when, as a Tory minister, Nick Ferrari feels that it is okay to (s)hit on you…? 🤔

    In case anyone needs reminding, the ambulances were queued up outside hospitals long before the strikes started.
    The Tories have wrecked the health service.

    It's simple, to any conservative a human life is simply a number and until you can actually make them acknowledge that the numbers they see are actual living breathing humans with emotions, wants and needs they will continue to never see anything but numbers.
