      Will always enjoy his albums. Fame messes with people, and it is clear it messed with him, big time. I would have preferred that you had covered the WTF with the work he’s had done on his face. He was a handsome man. He looks like he should be telling me to mail him money for Jesus. He looks like a Wayne Newton prototype. My first wife was sick for years before she died, and Cook’s humor was one of the things that kept her going. I am forever a fan for that.

    I think what made Dane Cook's standup work for me were not the jokes per say, but the wild stories he'd create. He had so much energy and brought these scenarios to life, and the snippets of humor would be like sprinkles on top.

    The truth is you typically click on who or what you think you can relate to. Dane was my entry as a black guy into white stand up. Because of him I’ve found countless comics I love from old school to current. I hope he gets back on track. Comedy brings people together

    • @BlackMetalGraffiti
      @BlackMetalGraffiti 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah white comedy is really different. Black comedy just talks about the difference between black and white people, and usually putting white people down. So I imagine seeing things from the other perspective is interesting. Some white people comedy can be corny as hell though so sometimes black comedy can be better.

    • @Liusila
      @Liusila ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BlackMetalGraffiti I never thought of comedy as coloured but I guess some comedians have an audience they gear towards. I think all types can have lame aspects though.

    • @BlackMetalGraffiti
      @BlackMetalGraffiti ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Liusila yeah most definitely, I agree all types can have lame aspects. I think that it’s just an easy way out for comedians to “stick with what works” so for instance Asians comedians make fun of themselves. Women comedians found that being raunchy and kinda Tom boyish works better, black comedians talk down to white people and white people are more observational type humor.

    How about not projecting how you think comedy has moved on and just let us know about Dane Cook. We don’t need a lesson about what is allowed to be funny from Looper. Thanks.

    Why did you try to cut Dane down at the end? There was no need for that.

    The thing about the"inappropriate" joke, I think it's just because commentary on current events is not really what he's good at. Somehow I feel like Chris Rock or George Carlin could have made that joke work somehow.

    I was never a huge fan, but I always liked Cook, regardless of some of the not so great things said about him. He seems like a good guy, but again, alot of not amazing things have been said about him.

    ive always really disliked Dane Cook and his immature BS he called "stand up Comedy" in the early 2000s... But now that I seen he tried really hard to be taken seriously and tried taking on serious roles that all flopped... kinda hurts me for some reason. I even shed a tear or 2. Empathy is a blessing, and a curse.

    💡Whatever Happened To Dane Cook? He wasn't funny.

    I’ve only heard Louie talk about Dane and his thievery one time in 15 years and he didn’t even say his name. I don’t know how that could’ve possibly improved his own career by subtly trashing Dane once.

    He sold out huge arenas. I don't understand how or why. Younger people were laughing. It's a business and he became last year's model at some point. He definitely is still working. But after being in several flop movies, he got overexposed like Pauly Shore and went from A list to C list. I would never count him out, he always will have some fan base from when he was huge 15 years ago. He is a decent actor, though leading roles may be out of reach now.

    Back in my mid 20's, we had a dvd of a stand up special he did in the break room at the bank I used to work at, where he was on that circular stage. I iust remember him talking about that B and E and how he'd replace batteries on the control with weaker batteries. I thought it was funny.

    … Bo Burnham had the best recent comedy special? We just going to pretend Dave Chapelle rock the world with his two blockbuster gut busters? Dane’s comedy style is perfectly fine in todays world. Just do what smart people do and ignore Twitter.

    Well it doesn't help that he keeps making bad judgement calls like dating a potential teenager.
