The Jennifer Grey one, it’s nice to see someone not do something hella problematic. Even learned a lesson about having not believed enough in herself back then
@@shawnuel it was still botched and turned her from a unique beauty into a generic one that killed her career. It's actually pretty sad especially since it was due to not having confidence and listening to some bad advice about her looks. Brendan Fraser also went through a devastating divorce and medical issue. It's nice to see that he's back in the spotlight and hopefully will make a decent comeback!
Yeah, he's the only one who really didn't do anything wrong. He didn't insult or assault anyone, he didn't drive drunk or touch himself in public. Hell, he didn't even use crude language during a comedy show aimed at adults or anything as heinous like that.
I absolutely adore Brendan Fraser. He's a great actor and more actors should take initiative and speak out when rich, old Hollywood bosses take advantage
I always liked him as an actor but he should get back into shape. There’s still a market for men at least playing older action stars and superheroes. Look at Keanu Reeves, kind of meandered after the Matrix movies then bam at almost 60 he’s cranking out his 4th John Wick film. Tom Cruise is 60 I think and pretty much never stopped running, fighting and riding motorcycles in movies.
Absolutely. Directors have no right to tell an actor what he would like him to do. Especially such a talent like him. I bet he'd go to Tom Cruise's house break into the closet and try to tell Travolta how to act.
Jennifer Grey joked about her situation once, saying something like "I went in [to the operating room] famous and came out anonymous." She played herself on a sitcom called "It's Like, You Know..." and the joke was always about people not recognizing her. Occasionally someone would recognize her and she'd be all excited about it.
This is why you must sign into the IRS website and check your taxes have been paid. Ultimately, the responsibility is our own. Not a CPA, husband or wife.
the scandal involving Fatty Arbuckle was more complicated then what was told in this video. Long story short, the women he was accused of murdering had a back alley abortion that went wrong and died from complications, the prosecution was paying people to testify against him and two times the case against him ended in a mistrial, almost all the jurors were convinced of his innocence. The third time, the jurors deliberated for only minutes before finding him innocent and issued a formal statement apologizing to him for all that he went through trying to prove his innocence.
In her podcast, “You Must Remember This” Karina Longworth did a full episode on the scandal. It’s in the season “Fake News: Fact Checking Hollywood Babylon” it’s a gripping listen.
Too bad she didn't get it right on Brendan. He was groped by a man and had PTSD from it and fell into depression. Google it, you Looper. It is right there.
@@DebbieFree100 Didn't the stunts in his action career also end up crippling his body, too? I heard they had a stunt go wrong on the first Mummy film and they actually ended up hanging him on camera! Hope to see more of him in the future, if he truly has healed and if it proves to be took much for him, more power to him for recognizing that. That's not exactly the whole story that happened to Jennifer Gray. She was dating Matthew Broderick at the time in the mid 80s and he killed two people ran them over in his car don't remember that do you? Nobody ever talks about that. And that traumatized her so bad that she went into early retirement because she became disillusioned with Hollywood when he got off and literally took no hits to his career. and then yeah she got a nose job.
The car incident was in Ireland, what happened was that Matthew was driving on the wrong side of the road, must have momentarily forgot they drive on the other side of the road and crashed head on to another car killing two people, a mother and daughter instantly. Their names were Margaret Doherty and Anna Gallagher. Broderick was convicted of careless driving and was mostly unharmed physically, Jennifer received more substantial injuries and was indeed traumatized by these events.
While the Fatty Arbuckle segment was technically correct, it's also a little biased. The reason he was acquitted at the third trial is because all the witnesses who perjured themselves in the first and second trials had been brought to light. She died of peritonitis caused by a perforated bladder, which itself was caused by a backstreet abortion. But it was her excess consumption of alcohol that exacerbated her condition afterwards. She never stated that Fatty Arbuckle had hurt her, because he hadn't. That was one of the uncovered instances of perjury by the time of the second trial, sadly it was still very prejudicial in that everyone was aware of the original statement, but not everyone was aware it had been recanted because it was a lie told on the stand under threat. At the third trial they were down to using a freshly caught pedophile as a stooge, but it was quickly found that the witness was exchanging crooked testimony for having his sexual assault of an 8 year old dropped. History got this one very wrong sadly, and while I appreciate the video does specifically address the reasons actors were cancelled, it does feel like the video is promoting the modified version of the truth, by not explaining that retrospectively it was a frame up based on public hysteria and an overzealous and unprincipled D.A.
A backstreet abortion. God dang that must have hurt for days u til her death. The alcohol must have been a way to fill the Pain but was also corroding her insides from the leaking bladder 🤢
iirc after final verdict, the judge was saying it was one of the biggest miscarriages of justice ever. Or something to that effect. But by then the damage was done. He never recovered. He did get some behind the scenes gigs from old friends but no one would pay to see his films.

He was brilliant in “School Ties” and brought one of my favorite cartoon characters, George of the Jungle, to life and was absolutely hilarious. “The Mummy” franchise was amazing; so many memorable films! Ingrid Bergman made some of her most remarkable films after the Rossellini scandal in the ’50s. She won 2 Oscars, Best Actress for ‘Anastasia’ in 1956, and Best Supporting Actress for “Murder on The Orient Express” in 1974 (she was also nominated for “Autumn Sonata”, in 1978). From the late ‘50s on she also won 2 Emmys, a Bafta Award (UK), an honorary César Award (France), 3 David de Donatello Awards (Italy), 2 Golden Globes (and many nominations) as long as many awards from film critics all over the USA. From 1957 (‘Anastasia’) until her death in 1982, she was involved in about 20 films and TV productions, many of them very successful. I wouldn’t call that “a damaged star status”.
She got what she deserved. She did not go through divorce proceedings and abandoned her marriage. She's lucky she wasn't in other parts of the world where the husband could kill her for that.
One thing I've never understood about the Peewee Herman actor, is like, who TF goes to a public theater to watch an adult movie? And how exactly is anyone surprised or disgusted at someone touching themselves while watching an adult movie..? Kinda seems like the point.. I mean, who watches an adult movie just to take in the culture and complex dialog..?
@TheBajemo Still not really an excuse. I did it plenty of times while living with my mother. I'd do it in the shower, or late at night before going to sleep, even occasionally in public restrooms, though in those cases I'd seek out one of those private ones, like in a gas station, or the handicap ones in the McDonald's, or just one of those ones in the far corner of a building that never really get used. Although that was mostly when I was 13-17 and just doing it wherever I could that was convenient at the time. Anyways, point is, there's plenty of options really. Also, looking back on things now at the age of 41, I can't believe how disgusted people get over such an innocent act. I mean, it really does get demonized harshly in our society, even now. As if it were some horrible detestable act.. A little wank, blow your load, get on with your day. Sure it's a little messy, but no worse than a stuffed up sneeze. Guess it's just all the bible thumper, sex hater BS. Correction, any non missionary between a man and a women sex hater BS.

I remember watching that cringeworthy Michael Richards interview on Letterman; and when some audience members chuckled, Jerry Seinfeld berated them by replying, “Stop laughing; it’s not funny.” The problem I had with Jerry saying that is that he made it seem as though _Michael_ was the victim.
I fear you are right. We have GOT TO STOP holding celebrities up to such glorification. Most are not even the authors of the lines being associated with them. It is all such a lying facade.
I really enjoyed and appreciated Richards skill as a comedic actor. Now after watching his stand-up failure and all his diva behavior on set, I can't even watch his Seinfeld performances. He treated everyone around him as inferior. The time he accidentally hit Julia in the face with golf clubs and didn't even apologize!! He should have stopped the scene and made sure she was okay. She could have lost her eyesight!! What a jerk.
I watched 1 episode of Seinfeld with my college roommate and asked him what he thought was even remotely good or funny about the show. The bass theme music was annoying as all get out.
I met Brendan Fraser, Moira Kelly, Patrick Dempsey, and director Alek Keshishian. They were promoting the 1994 movie With Honors and gave college media a chance to interview them. I was writing for UConn's Daily Campus and skipped 4 classes to go and do the assignment in New York. What a great experience!
The new head of the company canceled it after spending $90 million on it. It was in post production. That’s serious money. Some one stated it was not up to standards. Hollywood has put out some real dogs and released them and they cost a lot less than $90 million.

For the record NOT filing income tax is NOT illegal as long as the government owes YOU money! As long as they owe you money you can choose to NEVER file!
I think its become blatantly obvious that legality is of no consequence when it comes to stealing our money. I learned that when Obama car was mandated and my insurance went to 800 a month. I couldn't afford it and was naive enough to think I could just pay for my own insurance at 400 a month. After all, why was I paying for abortions and child care? I was a single male. Anyway, tax refunds came and they took every cent of it because I didnt buy in to Obama care. was the first time I felt an actual real world, personal attack on my freedoms and finances.
Instead of reporting petty crimes by mostly insignificant actors, I suggest you make a documentary about important actors, directors and people in the industry who commit real crimes and nothing happens to them.
The reason Snipes didn't pay the taxes is he felt since it was earned and the taxes were paid in another country he shouldn't have to pay taxes again in the US for the same earnings. It was $7 million+ from the Blade movie he did overseas. He paid all his other taxes

The Paul Reubens situation was all sorted out. Referring to his most recent arrest, he just got caught up in an investigation that started out with another actor. I remember Michael Richards apology on Letterman. I was watching it as it happened. It was a piggyback appearance that he made along with Jerry Seinfeld who was promoting Seinfeld on DVD or something. It was unexpected. And people were laughing during the apology.
There's an episode in curb your enthusiasm where Leon Black (his surname in the show is actually "black"), visits Michael Richards and to sum it up he conned him. After Michael Richards realizes this, he is rightfully mad and he yells at Leon in front of a crowd. I don't know if Larry David wrote this line or Michael Richards thought of it by himself but it's genius: "If only there were a horrible name that I can call you that would make you as angry as I am." After that I thought about the Letterman interview. IIRC he said something along the lines that he finds it odd that this stuff happened cause he's not racist and the audience laughed. I actually believe it, he doesn't really realize/believe that he's racist. Even if we believe that, I think he's still a very toxic person that will hurt you if you try to hurt them. He could become toxic towards females, other races, and in general towards other people if you make him mad enough. He might've just punched that guy if he wasn't on stage and/or if he could reach him. He might not be as bad as racists who harass other races for a really stupid reason. But, he's still very toxic person and I think he got what he deserved.
I remember watching that live too. It was super awkward and not remotely the right time or place for Michael Richards to video call in like that. The Jennifer Grey one, it’s nice to see someone not do something hella problematic. Even learned a lesson about having not believed enough in herself back then
Also, am I the only person who thinks her surgery looks much better than any other celeb who had similar work done?
@@shawnuel it was still botched and turned her from a unique beauty into a generic one that killed her career. It's actually pretty sad especially since it was due to not having confidence and listening to some bad advice about her looks. Barbara Streisand was given the same bad advice but she decided not to listen thankfully because the doctor told her that a nose job could affect her singing voice. Looks mean nothing if it takes away your dream career.
I wish Hollywood would give her more work. Renee Zellweger also looks very different now, but she still works.
@@bluedancelilly She didn't for nearly a decade after that surgery though, and she says she had to work doubly hard in auditions because no one recognised her. She lost her star power overnight as a result of the surgery and it's taken her a long time to claw her career back.

Oh yes. A real talent! Thank God we have him. A generational talent. Only once in a life time will you see such a slub make a fortune
Occasionally someone would recognize her and she'd be all excited about it.

the scandal involving Fatty Arbuckle was more complicated then what was told in this video.

I don't think Bergman would have been judged so harshly if she had not left her child behind
It was the 50s. Like hell she wouldn't. And I don't think she abandoned her voluntarily. She wanted a divorce and her ex wouldn't let her see her child.

Ted Kennedy and Bruce Jenner... It's actually scary how many people died from the result of politicians and celebrities actions. But what's really scary is that they always seem to get away with it!
Mathew Broderick was in a tragic car accedint in Ireland. he didn't kill anyone intentionally
@@gerarduspoppel2831 is that what the news reported? Sorry, I don't believe any of it anymore. Studios like their movie stars, especially when they make them money, and bribing a few people to get the "tragic accident" story out wouldn't be the worst thing people like that have ever done. I'm not saying that's the specific case with Mathew Broderick, but you can't deny that celebrities, politicians, and actors have gotten off light in terms of criminal punishment for crimes that an ordinary person would see the inside of a prison cell for.

I remember Michael Richards apology on Letterman. I was watching it as it happened. It was a piggyback appearance that he made along with Jerry Seinfeld who was promoting Seinfeld on DVD or something. It was unexpected. And people were laughing during the apology.
Letterman didn’t want to help Seinfeld
@@itsmeprasad1987 Richards was a racist piece of crap.
@@itsmeprasad1987 didn't want to help him with what? He had him on the show to promote Seinfeld.
There's an episode in curb your enthusiasm where Leon Black (his surname in the show is actually "black"), visits Michael Richards and to sum it up he conned him.
After Michael Richards realizes this, he is rightfully mad and he yells at Leon in front of a crowd. I don't know if Larry David wrote this line or Michael Richards thought of it by himself but it's genius:
"If only there were a horrible name that I can call you that would make you as angry as I am."
After that I thought about the Letterman interview.
The audience was chuckling because they didn't know how they were supposed to react. And Seinfeld kept admonishing the audience to stop laughing. I don't know what he was thinking. Total cringe fest.
Jennifer Grey stopped getting work because she was well known to be a nightmare to work with. Gilbert Gottfried kept working as a commedian, he never stopped.
Jennifer Grey is trying to cash in on the Johnny Depp trial. She always seemed to have her nose up in the air. Oh wait... That's right, she had it "fixed".
10:20 Maybe it's a stupid question, but aren't adult theaters specifically made for men to get off? I don't think it's pleasurable to sit with a boner in front of a huge porno screen for the length of a movie. So why was he arrested? Also since when is gay erotica illegal? And "questionable" vintage collectables? So someone can be arrested for a copy of Lolita movie? What about an vintage sculpture of a naked child? How about a black and white photo of kids on nudist beach from 30s? Unless he had actual underage sex movies in his collection - doesn't seem to be a fair arrest.
Are you seriously not going to bring up Michael Bay having an underaged Megan Fox dancing under a waterfall in Bad Boys 2, or that he had her washing is car "sexy like" in Transformers? I think she didn't want to work with him anymore for his predatory behavior towards her, and he did what we could to ruin her career for it.
She probably did not want to work with him for good reason, but she also never made a good movie without him. Sucks for her.

@@boozypixels what's especiually funny about Gottfried's joke is the NYC EMpire State Building was hit by a B-25 bomber around Christmas 1945.
Though the areas of the building affected was repaired and back in business within several months, NYC legislated that every hi rise built in NYC had to be able to resist airplane strikes.
As were the major WTC buildings.
Before that September day, no steel framed concrete building had ever collapsed from fire.
Let alone three building, WTC 1, 2, & 7 which all fell at free fall perfectly into their own footprints. It was a demolition job prepped long before anything hit them.
