Thanks Chi...buh u did not mention how long it took you to secure visa appointment like the duration from the booking to the going for interview please.
Thanks for the video , it was really informative. I would like to ask which comes first ….sending cold emails to professors or paying the application fee first.
You are welcome. Sending cold emails come first, this is to ensure you are get the right information you need for the program and you are indicating your interests to the professors before applying.
Yor advice on starting early is so important. I have already applied and gotten admission for fall 2025 as of november 2024. waiting on my 1-20 to begin visa processes. Hopefully that will not take too long
Oh, great. Thanks for the update. They changed things in August. I made this video though, detailing my journey and experience from my application timeline.
Hello Adeolu. Like I said in the video, you have to know the program you are going for first, then search for the schools that offer that program. You can’t know the schools or department unless you do a research, and send cold emails for inquiries.
It’s so crazy seeing my family name from a stranger on the internet. 😂Like my surname is not common like the usual so I’m shocked really. So excited for no reason
Hello. I just want to know. I do not have any work experience, but I'm looking to go out for my masters US or Canada. Is it possible to apply for scholarships without any work experience? Will the scholarship be given on the condition that I have no plan to stay and work in the US upon the completion of my program?
Hello Oyinda, I didn’t use any agent during my process. I did everything from scratch to the end myself. Those agents are not heaven sent, that’s one thing I know. So, I don’t recommend them at all!
Hi Lasumbo, That depends on the program you are going for and if you were offered a complete funding package. If your program is fully funded, you don’t need a POF, but if it is not fully funded, you need one!
@@Itss.Nenyeee Alright thank you so much... Funny enough i did not know that was the name for it once i selected the schools i wanted to apply to i was already emailing the program of each schools on stuffs like application fee waiver, application process on some specific things, financial needs and also how the program I am pursuing is in their university it's the same thing right? 😂
Hi Nabodimma, I didn’t do any medicals for the interview. Most people I know who also went for the interview, didn’t do anything as such. I don’t think that’s a requirement!
You’d get that on the school’s website. Right on the page of the specific program you are applying for, look out for the faculty/staff prompt on the departmental page. You’ll find that there.
Thank you for this video, I am in the process of applying for my MSc in communications, I have identified my top schools and currently at 80% done with my application forms (left with my essays and required documents. Please I want to ask the following questions: Can I also apply for your course (Film studies) with my mass communication undergrad degree? Is the program fully funded? And do i still need to reach a professor if i am not going for a PhD? Also do I still need to show sponsor bank statements for my 1-20 form despite being fully funded by the school?
@@Ugo292 Hi, no i did not email professors specifically, i emailed graduate coordinators to get more insight about the admission process, additional info not on the website and also get fee waiver. For my transcript, i have my scanned copy of official transcript with me so i just upload that (which is what most schools are requesting anyways until you are given admission before the official one is to be sent to the school directly

Before sending cold emails, must I read the publications of the professors I hope to work with?
How did u know the schools & departments that offer GA before sending cold mails

There are people/agencies who help in these processes. But, I personally don’t recommend them. However, if you wanna do them, do you!
What kind of outfit is best for the Visa interview?
Wear a decent outfit you’re comfortable in. That’s it. They’re not checking lol. So far as it’s decent, you’re good.
How did you get the emails of the professors?
You’d get that on the school’s website.
