  • Following BBC Watchdog's investigation into the Lanzarote Beach Club (as posted here: • BBC Watchdog with Max ... ) next it was the turn of BBC Wales documentary series Week in Week Out to try cracking the case.
One advantage they had was that for some strange reason Max Clifford was no longer representing the resort. But who were the shadowy owners behind the timeshare scheme? Some progress was being made on that front......

I've sat through loads of these sales presentations and never bought a thing. Just get the free gifts and "Sayonara, suckers!!"

Classic "set up to fail" exercise. Written in to the contract will be a clause saying that if others don't pay those that remain pay more. So the business simply drives more and more people out until it collapses. But that is OK because they have taken your money. The building is sold to new owners and they start again.

im just confused how spending 4 grand on a timeshare helps honor your sons memory because he liked taking holiday. who doesn't like vacations.

I'm not surprised at all, we had ours at LBC1 from about 1985 and by 1997 we gave it away because it had already gone to shit and they were trying to force out existing members. The fees had become so high it was no longer tenable. Nice while it lasted, if you go there now it's the sand beach resort and it looks scabby as hell. sad.

Honest and ethical people are being penalized for assuming that others are just as decent.

They prey on the people’s being on “vacation high” and their emotions. They are going to be your Best friend for the next 3+ hours. They are all about making memories when in reality they are sellers of a dream that turns into a nightmare. They tap into a persons psyche revealing some personal stuff and you can’t verify any truth in those stories. Don’t buy a timeshare or a vacation club.

There are still loads of these type of companies out there looking for people to rip-off.
Remember the old saying “buyer be aware”! 😥

Don't forget, thr commission-only sales people get conned too by paying £500 up front for their "training" then give up without ever making any money.

I never got it. Just pay as you go. I have never wanted to keep returning to the same place. Its forever while you keep paying the ever increasing fees.
