I am so sorry for the mistakes in this video. Ismail I of Safavid Persia ruled from 1501 to 1524 (the mistake probably appeared when the flag was edited). Also, another was about the Siege of Fez by the Ottomans. The siege of Fez was made indeed by the Ottomans in Morroco, but in 1576 when the Ottoman Empire forces from the North African region of Algiers supported a Morrocan ruler: Abd al-Malek in gaining the throne of the country. The big mistake was that the Siege of Fez wasn't against the Portuguese, but against the local sultan: Mulay Muhammed. The Ottomans succeeded in putting Abd al-Malek to the Morrocan Throne. In the meantime the former Morrocan sultan: Mulay Mohammed fled to Iberia to gain help. This led to the intervention of the Portuguese, together with their king in Morroco. in the battle of Three Kings of 1578, the Portuguese King died and this led to the end of the Aviz dynasty. Portugal was then integrated into the Iberian Union for 60 years, which was a dynastic union with Spain.

6:09, also you should've mentoined that the Croatian parliament (Sabor) gathered up at the Cetin castle and made agreement with Austrian archduke Ferdand I, thus choosing him as righteous ruler of Kingdom of Croatia, indepedent of Hungarian Parliament. While Kingdom of Slavonia chose John Zapolya/Ivan Zapoljski, Hungarian nobleman of Slavonian/Croatian origin, which led to civil war, which in return further weakened the defence from the Ottomans. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Election_in_Cetin

The Ottoman rulers did not limit non Muslims people's praying or ceremonies, and preserved their religious or secterian organization or churches. The Ottomans were a worldwide model of this idea.Gibbons writes " It can not be argued that the Ottomans were the first nation in the new age to use the principle of religious freedom as fundamental idea in establishing their state ". Jean Bodin(1520-96)founder of European state laws, recommended to the King of France that he take the ruling of the Ottoman State as an example. He said that Padishah(Ottoman Ruler) treated the Orthodox, the Catholics and Jews as equal to Muslims and protected them all. Chenier of Geneva said in 1717: " The Turks have a very wide perspective of religion and show great tolerance" No one was punished for their religious beliefs, except for those who deliberatly insulted Islam. The few priest punished were not charged with religious offences, but with treason. Marshall Von Moltke found this source of this tolerance towards us Christians that reason for this could only be their solid and strong belief in Islam. The violence and aggression between rival Christians(Catholics and Orthodox Christians)sects in those years is recorded in their own books. After Viennas defeat,The Venetians invaded Sakiz for a short time and Mora for quite a long time. They caused so much violence that when the Ottomans resumed control, the Greeks greeted them with songs and celebration. The Ottomans also collected The Jizya from the people of the book in return for their exemption from military service and for protection Christians soldiers did not have to pay this tax.Soldiers from southern Romania, presented for service to the Ottomans in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries became very important part of army. Many non Muslims lived in the Empire ,especially in port cities. The state protected them and gave them complete freedom to conduct business, visit religious places,or just tour the country. V Morrin of Rokebey wrote that he went to Istanbul in 1794,when he was 22 years old,and had roamed freely among the Turks and found them very helpful. Ottomans respected the art of ancient civilizations. The mosaics in Ayasofia(Aya sofya) the number most famous mosques, were not touched from 1453 until 1922. Out of respect for Christians feelings, the mosaics were painted over. Orientalists, basing themselves on the twentieth century values have problem with dhimmi status of non Muslims Ottoman subjects. However they are gravely mistaken. I have mentioned the vast rights given to them in theory and practice.

The three Islamic empires of the early modern period - the Mughal, the Safavid, and the Ottoman - shared a common Turko-Mongolian heritage. In all three the ruling dynasty was Islamic, the economic system was agrarian, and the military forces were paid in grants of land revenue. Despite these similarities, however, significant differences remained. And, to fully appreciate the individual temporal systems, a brief description of the political, economic, religious, and cultural conditions in each state is necessary. Within the confines of a single chapter, however, it is not possible to review all of the literature and settle all of the controversies. As a result, the brief overview that follows depends, for the most part, on the most recent general histories and surveys.

The 4 most important factors in the rapid expansion of the Ottoman Empire:
    1. The Ottomans employed steppe war tactics that Europeans were not familiar with. And the Ottomans made good use of gunpowder, cannons and hand cannons that the Mongols learned from China and brought to the Middle East. A century later, Europe developed the arquebus and the Ottomans adapted this new technology to their armies and developed this type of weapon further.
    2. Because the war with Christians was religiously appreciated by the Turkish people in Anatolia, the Turkish people migrated from other Beyliks in Anatolia and joined the Ottoman army.
    3. The Ottomans were in a region far from Mongol oppression. For this reason, Turkish tribes migrated to the Ottoman lands. Thus, the Ottoman Empire could settle this Turkish population in the new lands it conquered.
    4. The Ottoman tolerance of the Christian civilian population and did not press for forced conversion, which protected the Ottomans from great Christian revolts even during the Ottoman weakness, such as the struggle for the throne

Many people do not know that the Safavid state was founded by the Shia Turkmen. They see it as an Iranian state since it was established in Iranian geography. Shah Ismail captured all the eastern anatolia azerbaijan and fars provinces with a smal Qizilbash army (magnificent fanatic Turkmen warriors). This Qizilbash army is always was the core bof the Safavids. Just like janissaries and sipahis in the ottoman army. Selim I and Ismail I spoke Turkish in their letters before the battle of chaldiran(1514). Shah Ismail has magnificent poems in Azerbaijani Turkish. Today Turkish and Azerbaijani Turks understand those poems 100%.

In 6 AH,the Prophet sent letters to neighboring rulers. One was sent to Emperor Heraclius of Rome. The Prophet wrote. " In the name of God, the All-Merciful, the All-Compassionate. From Muhammed, the servant and Messenger of God, to Roman's great King Heraclius. May peace be upon those who obey the right path. I call you to Islam in the way of a true Muslim. Become a Muslim and you will find salvation. Become a Muslim and God will give you twice as much as you actually deserve. If you turn away, you will be held responsible for your subjects. " And you : O people of the Book! Come to a word common between you and us, that we shall worship but none but Allah, that we shall assign no partner to him, and that none of us shall take others as lord besides Allah. If they turn away, then say " Bear witness that we are submitters to Allah(as Muslims). The Empire diplomatically stated that Heraclius rejected the invitation. However historical sources insist that the emperor inwardly welcomed the invitation and remarked: " These places we are in now will be his in the future."

CULTURE: Suleyman presided over a golden age in Islamic culture. The crown of Ottoman culture was its architecture, based on a delightful and harmonious blend of Byzantine, Arab, and Persian styles. The master-builder of Suleyman was Sinan(1491-1588),one of the greatest architects in world history. A product of the devshirme system, Sinan first-served for nearly twenty years as a military engineer in the Janissaries. His skill in engineering won him the position of the royal architect in 1538;he designed over 300 buildings in the course of his fifty-year career. His master piece is the Selimiye mosque in Edirne,in which his engineering skills managed to surpass the size of the great Byzantine dome of Hagia Sofia. The entire architectural " feel " of Istanbul is essentially the extension of the artistic vision of Sinan.
ART: Other arts and literature also flourished in the Ottoman empire. Following Persian models, painting and manuscript illustration became an important art form. Metal and tile working were also highly developed. The Ottomans created a complex semi-artificial literacy from a mixture of Turkish, Persian, and Arabic: indeed the educated Ottoman could speak all three languages fluently,Poetry was an integral part of Ottoman aristocratic society; historical writing also flourished.

When Sarı Selim was born, India, Indo-China, Persia, Central Asia, Anatolia, North Africa, Arabia, Mora and Balkans was under the reign of Turkish Shahs and sultans. 16th century is golden age for Turks and Turkmens who followed the different ways of Islam.

CREATION OF THE EMPIRE:As the masters of the new technologies Ottoman military expansionism did not cease with fall of Constantinople in 1453. During the next century and a half they conquered most of modern Serbia,Croatia,Hungary,Romania,Moldavia, and southern Russia from the Europeans. Syria and Egypt were conquered from the Mamluks by 1517.Mesopotamia and much of Arabia were added by 1538. Most of North Africa was conquered by 1574.Throughout the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries, the Ottomans were not only the most important Islamic empire, but largest and most powerful European state as well.

They conquered a weakened balkan countries, then got some persian lands and got the Mumlak sultanate and some arab tribes in north africa, then failed horribly in Vienna and from there on The Ottomans were undeveloped, killing poeople, uninovative ,,Sick Person of Europe".
Then the Balkan countries during the,,Age of Nationalism" got some ideas of independence and kicked the ass of the Ottomans.

    • @user-mv3dc6yu3q
      @user-mv3dc6yu3q 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@Yusuf Isa they conquered Constantinople after 50years with army protecting it of 2k people and with the help of cannons.
Im not saying that the Ottomans were weak, but they got a really big luck.
Ottomans were still undeveloped compared to the other Great powers.
Still there are many other greater empires that existed such as ERE,Bulgarian Empire,Russian Empire,French Empire,China and so on.
On top of that you slaughtered so many people. You should not be proud of that.

    • @user-mv3dc6yu3q
      @user-mv3dc6yu3q 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@Yusuf Isa it was a big luck.
The Byzantine and Bulgarian empire were one of the strongest on earth by most of their life period. But in their last days they became weak.
ERE as I said could mobilize 300k ppl by 500AD and 100k around 900AD,now it could only 6k ppl. Constantinople was defended by only 2k ppl and you had cannons.
      So thats a great luck.
Bulgaria not only became weaker by the same time, but they separated itself by three.
And Serbia was about to beat you,but traitors failed everything.
      So thats again great luck.
Austria helped you with Hungary and the Mamluk sultanate hat traitors again.
      So thats again great luck.
Then the battle of Vienna and u r the sick person of Europe.
Age of nationalism, which made the enslaved to fight for freedom and you have Seebia and Greece having their independence.
Then in the first balkan war 4newly created countries beat a ,,Great " Empire.
To call yourself Great and so on is nonsense.
You never invented anything and slaughtered so many ppl.
Because u blocked the way to Asia, the whole Europe would had to travel the whole Globe, man WTF.
Just to give u an example of how ,,civilized" you were.

@National Autistic Socialism well for their time the ottomans were a bit more tolerant than any other Muslim civilization but obviously that doesn't make them a saint and when they stared to decline they became less and less tolerant also i agree that the narrator hasn't a single clue about history they probably hired him because he has a soothing voice or something
