    Interesting comparison, surprisingly good sounds from the NUX. I enjoyed your playing too, very nice.

    I just received my Nux but haven’t tried it yet and this demo gives me real hope for it! I’ve gone back to single pedals instead of multi-effects boxes because they alway have some weak areas, but the Nux was so cheap I just had to buy it. I recently discovered the Nux Solid Studio Cabinet emulator and it’s better than any I’ve found in a multi-box. (including The Helix stomp and many others) I’m running a Strymon Iridium into the Nux SS And then individual pedals of premium quality directly my board and it sounds fantastic! But now I must try this Nux especially the Marshall tone was pretty damn close! (for $150 !!! )

      Hi Bill, I am terribly sorry for missing you message. Sometimes it's difficult for me to login TH-cam using my local network. How do you like the MG-300? I hope you enjoy it. Frankly speaking, it is not an expensive pedal, but for this price, if there are some good sounds in it, I'm happy already. It costs about the same as some amp-like stompboxes, but it definitely delivers more good sounds and functionalities. I personally actually prefer the MG-300 to some bigger metal-housing multi-effects, because the MG-300 good at tone vs size. If I were to carry bigger gear, I would choose my normal real pedalboard and Marshall, which are what I am using for regular gigs. Thanks a lot Bill! Hope to hear your comments!

    Hello! In the second part does the sound we hear is the sound recorded straight to your DAW, or are you using any monitor and capturing with a mic? Great tone, great playing!

    • @zengzeng9173
      @zengzeng9173  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Gustavo, Thank you very much! The second part, both the Marshall 1987 and MG-300 used only the IR from the MG-300, instead of the real cabinet underneath the heads. Therefore, there was no mic, the sound was recorded via USB, and I monitored the sound by the headphone.

    How do you use the NUX as a cab sim? I currently own a Mooer GE200 and I do have a few custom IRs installed and I'm also in the process of buying either an Orange Micro terror or the Joyo Bantamp Bluejay and I wanted to know if i could continue using the GE200 with it as a cab sim!
    Great playing!

    • @zengzeng9173
      @zengzeng9173  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Rohit! For either the MOOER GE200 or NUX MG, if you only want to use it as only a cab sim, you can just turn off the “amp” section of the multi-effect. The any distortion/overdrive models have to be off, too. For example, you can use a real amp like the Micro Terror, plug the amp into a loadbox, and the line level output signal from the loadbox can be fed into the MG-300, with only the cab section turned on in the MG-300. This a way to to use it as a can sim. Hope this answered your questions. Thanks!

      @@zengzeng9173 Thanks for the reply! What's a loadbox? Because while I absolutely love a tube amp, living in an apartment means that I can never really play it (at all). So finding out a way to practice it on a small speaker or practice it silently would be the best way through

    • @zengzeng9173
      @zengzeng9173  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@yesiamadorito Hi Rohit, a load-box is a box with a big resistor inside, together with some other circuits sometimes. A tube amp cannot run without a speaker, because the speaker provides a “load” to the tube amp, without the load, your tube amp will be damaged. The load-box acts as a speaker to provide the load, so if you connect the tube amp to a load-box, the amp can work without a real speaker. The load-box has a line level out signal for you to send to a cab sim, and then the final sound will be similar to a tube amp with a real speaker. It is good for silent recording and producing, but a real speaker can never be really replaced by loadbox + Cab Sim.
