I use distilled white vinegar on my Iron 883's denim paint, the vinegar is cheap at between 30p and 50p a pint here in the UK. The vinegar gleans the road dirt off the paint and leaves it looking like new and it leaves it with a perfect matt finish.
Cool. I recently bought a Honda Transalp ADV bike with Matte paint. No idea why Honda would put matte paint on an Adventure bike that may get rubbed by tree branches, and get splattered or sprayed withoff-road and road mud as it is for road and off-road riding. Only the 2024 year of the bike has the grey matte.
Thanks Steve... I've been looking for something to detail/clean my Charcoal Denim.. Looks like I've found it! Thanks for the great vid and keep them coming!
Im looking for a matte spray with will actually give the matte paint a little shine. I used to use a matte spray from “motorrow” but they’re actually not in business anymore
P&S Bead Maker, Jay Leno's Matte Detailer, and Wizards Mist and Shine works great for matte/denim finishes and leaves a nice sheen to the finish and richens the color a bit. I've personally tried all these products on my matte black Dark Horse Challenger.
Good-day; What do you think of Torque detail- Cermaic Spray product for 2016SoftailS Demin military. Thank you for time, Have a bless day, Cutty Corrigan..
If it is has any substantial amount of silicas or ceramic it could leave your denim paint glossy...and its a spray......like a quick detailer for a ceramic coated paint job...so it wont last nearly as long as a true coating...but having said that...if this stuff is made for matte paint and wont glossify your matte, then its certainly better than nothing at all. Just remember matte paint has a clear coat on it just like gloss paint does...its just matte...so it still needs to be protected.
Just brought a bottle Steve. Thank you for the information. One question if you don't mind. I read where if you have a scratch on your Denim paint you can use 0000 steel wool and windex to make the scratch go away. Just wondering if that works.
Youre very welcome man....I am not sure as I have never used this before. I would be afraid that any steel wool would discolor the paint...You may try a small area on that back of your saddlebag or something to see though.
Well the 0000 steel wool and windex did not work removing scratches. I purchased a bottle of the Killerwax KW 7 and it worked awesome. Thanks for the heads up.
All of my towels are from the rag company and these are the two I use the most - amzn.to/461LGwx and amzn.to/4833BEU the first one is all fluff both sides..the second one is fluff on one side and thicker on the other.
Thats the purpose of using a liquid qucik detailer. No point in using a quick detailer if you are going to hose down your bike..just wash it at that point. All quick detailers are designed to raise up the dust and dirt and put it in your towel. Never dry wipe your bike. That will scratch your paint. Quick detailers will not. Now that being said..its a quick detailer..if you have mud and shit all over your bike a quick detailer is not what you want to use. Wash it. Detailers are spot maintenance.
2 things I learned: 1). A drugstore that sells nail polish (the enamals have been used on 1,000's of bikes for years to touch up paint as they come in so many colors in the nail polish section). They also sell a grey colored nail polish bottle size jar of this stuff that when applied on top of regular enamal nail polish turns it to a matte finish. 2). Yesterday a former Harley employee told me they were told to use glass cleaner when Harley started with Matte & denim paints. The person told me that Harley later learned that it is a 100% NO NO as glass cleaner destroys matte and demin paints. Harley now sells "Denim Paint Cleaner" in a hand pump type spary bottle. I think it is a 473 ml bottle. I see Amazon also lists many brands of Matte paint cleaners,...
We have used nail polish for years touching stuff up...its a great way to black out bolt heads too if you have a blacked out bike..literally buy the cheapest black wal mart has ...its enamel and works great. And yes it used to even say it in the owners manual to use window cleaner to clean matte paint..You can choose just about any matte detailer and youll be fine. Thats the beauty of denim paint. Its easier to take care of.
you need some kind of lubricant to wash the bike weather it be a soap or quick detailer. Meticulous Matte Foaming Car Wash Soap or Meticulous Matte Detailer and Spray Sealant ..something like that
Yes I get mine from www.killerwaxxillinois.com Ron White Jr is the owner, If you have facebook look him up...great guy and has the shipping prices around for all killerwaxx products.
That bike looks like it’s been washed with regular soap that has waxes. It’s shiny. I have two denim bikes. You can use dish soap. It’s the best. Matte spray only if you don’t want to wash the bike with water.
This bike had never had anything on it other than windex before this..Its my aggressive lighting thats popping off the matte clear...I agree it looks that way but outside in the sun its not.
this is just a cleaner ...no waxes or anything to make it shiny. I have 16 - 6000 lumen 5000K LED lights in my shop and for recording. Its the bright LED's bouncing off of the clear on the matte. Yes all matte or denim paint have a clear on them to protect them. Its a matte clear but it still reflects light.
@@sikbaggers thank you for clarifying. I have a black denim paint and it seems like someone messed oil on my saddle bag lid, so I have these blotches that look like water marks ... what can i do?
@@AlastairT00 Yeah thats weird as the paint does have a matte clear on it...can you feel it? If its just on the paint you should try some dawn dish washing liquid...cuts oil and grease good. Maybe even some Prepall ...removes grease and wax.

James B you're gonna love it bro!!
James B is the denim paint easy to scuff?
No.. It is Awesome!
Im looking for a matte spray with will actually give the matte paint a little shine. I used to use a matte spray from “motorrow” but they’re actually not in business anymore
im not sure there is one, most guys and gals want the opposite for their matte paint...have you tried rat wax?

I use the bug-slide. I might have to give this a look.
Id venture to say the bug slide and this are very comparable ,....pick which ones cheaper and run with it.
Great video does it also protect the paint from bird droppings
What towel do you use just a regular micro fiber or a specific one?

I wash my 2006 Dyna Matte black with rain and road spray. Easy quick and leaves me more time to ride.
Why I don’t buy anything used 😂
Are not supposed to wet down your bike with a hose before? I was told that it helps you avoid scratching your paint with dust and dirty.
