I think they were only focusing on the defence's time with him as a witness. They'd already covered how Cohen's time as a witness for the prosecution.

if Trump and his body guard are next to each other at the time of the call, 1.5 minutes is a lot of time in which to deal with the teenager issue and then hand the phone to Trump. Hardly a "Perry Mason" moment, unless it places Trump within easy access to make Cohen's account more plausible. I'd also be very surprised if the case rests on Cohen's testimony.
I agree. I’m no fan of Cohens, but everything he has testified to is backed up with receipts and corroborating testimony.
