Reminder to anyone coming to this thread - an angle grinder is THE MOST DANGEROUS tool in the garage. The wheel can catch and pull in any of the 4 directions. A catch will immediately send the wheel into your wrist or your leg, typically eating directly into an artery. USE THE WHEEL FACE DOWN WITH BOTH HANDS. APPLY PRESSURE ON ONLY ONE QUARTER OF THE GRINDING WHEEL WHILE STANDING BEHIND.
I'm interested in building a bit safer of a method, utilizing a small lathe.

Guys, TH-cam may not be a desert for inline skating content but your channel is definitely an oasis! Until watching this video, I thought I was the only one who seriously considered using a grinder on the wheels and it was probably a farfetched and silly idea; now I see it's actually a thing and I'm genuinely happy! Not only that my idea has been justified, now I know how to do it correctly (using a vise, correct angling of the grinder, etc.)

Very good advise, been able to reshape old flat agressive wheels to a rounder profile. By the way, I used a dremel with sandpaper on it and it works very well. the wheel spins on itself thanks to the rotation of the dremel, so no need to make it rotate yourself. It took me only 10 minutes

If you want to remove the logo/decal of you new wheels, just use solvent (nail polish remover) .

I LOVE the innovation in this video and in this channel. Being creative and resourceful is fantastic. All the applications here seem fine, except that for removing the logo/decal or the new-wheel shine, an angle grinder is overkill. For that, I recommend instead using sandpaper, whether on a sanding block, or using an orbital sander.

      Thanks so much!
There are other ways ofcourse to remove logo. Ill try sandpaper as well!

This was helpful. I am on my second pair of Hydrogen 100mm wheels and both sets have been out of round. It's not that noticeable on asphalt, but extremely noticeable when taking my kids to the skating rink. This could work to help make the wheels more rounded and is cheaper than trying the Powerslide Syncro brake system to reshape the wheels. I'd have to go to 110s for that to work though.

Please don't ever put down an angle grinder down with the wheel down or even worse, like in this video touching the service. If the machine were to turn on accidentally, which unfortunately can happen, it will fly off. Very dangerous!!

I second the protective gear recommendation. My understanding is that urethane dust is super harmful to your lungs, so a respirator of some kind is almost essential.

Lol screw bench ... or as some people call it: a vise

That could be a translation thing.

@@Swarlman it definitely is. Screw bench is a littoral translation of the Dutch name for a vise.

@@Daedje right, he even said so. It seems that must be why he didn't say vise.
