I love Ninja products. Almost everything’s that can be Ninja or Shark in my house, is. However, with this cooker, I fail to see the utility it provides over just using the regular XL. I mean, sure. If you wanna pull a Darnell and eat some cookies with your fish, you’re good to go. But… I don’t think many people are tryna do that. I’m glad to see they’re continuing to innovate in the space… But this one was a miss for me. Bless.

      🤣
Truth is, Calphalon made a double oven a while back, months ago last year. Very similar in design. So, I don't even say Ninja innovated this time around.
I wonder if they have a "Double XL Oven" coming? 🤔

My family does a lot of bakes sides with suppers and a lot of fried foods the problem I have run into is I can only bake the main dish or the side at one time because of different cook times or mixing tastes so this would be great for us but if you don’t do a lot of baked sides it probably does not make sense to get the double oven

I think it’s great if you had company coming and you wanted to bake a nice hot pie for dessert, you can get the pie started before the meat is done so that everything is fresh and still hot or warm. Yeah it’s probably not all of the time, but it’s fantastic to have this flexibility.

OMG! I am soooo glad you made this review :) Thank you
UPDATE: After watching your excellent comparison review, I can now offer my input. As per true Ninja style, this NEW oven has just enough design differences to peak consumer interest and yet, when looked at closer, one is compelled to examine the trade-offs. For example, having the functions separated into two completely divided areas is appealing when cooking two different items using two different functions; however, the trade-off is loss of interior space, loss of the ability to cook larger batches (i.e. cookies, biscuits, double pan meals or the option of baking a pan of cornbread at the same time as a loaf of bread, etc) Another example is whole roasting a chicken and roasting pan of potato wedges at the same time not to mention the option of whole roasting a larger chicken or turkey. What I do find appealing is the bottom oven having no heating elements within the interior cooking space. It will be interesting to see how this one cleans up because we all know the previous version was less than desirable in that aspect. First impression was I am going to purchase. Second impression is I am not sure the trade-offs serve my needs at this point in time.
*** Well, I stand corrected. You can Bake two things at same time; Bake on Top; Conv Bake on bottom.

This is a perfect machine when you realize that it’s been a long day and you get home from work and the kids are hungry so you pop some fries and chicken nuggets into this bad boy and boom in 30-35 mins dinner is served I think that’s why buying this machine is a game changer for people with kids or even the single person who wants to cook baked fish and some veggies at the same time and then dinner is served faster for them using this machine 🥰🥰

Great video. Very thorough. A few other reviewers erroneously said there was no pause function. I'm glad you confirmed that the oven has that feature. I ordered the 410 non-thermometer version and am looking forward to trying new recipes. I subscribed. Great channel.

Is Ninja still your favorite, replacing a 3 year old Breville that died. Worked great until it didn’t, still looks like new. Thank you for you channel, you are wonderful🙏💕I returned the Ninja DT201 because of the unstable temperature I learned from one of your earlier videos. This one doesn’t get up to the temperature during the 90 second preheat but after 10 minutes it got to 450 degrees and stayed very consistent. I was able to make perfect home made pizza with it. Thank You for all your great videos🙏💕

Thank you for the excellent comparison between the Pro XL oven ( which I have) and this new double oven. I like everything about the new oven, but It's just too small. I use 9 X 13 pans a lot in my Ninja oven and I don't want to use smaller pans.

i just canceled my dual oven after watching this lol. 13 inch pan not fitting was a deal breaker. however the other one you showed Gourma, that heats with the bars on the bottom. those things burn out easy and also they get food on them and turn black and then dont heat right. i like the xl pro because heating is behind the fan and doesnt get food on it. im buying that one. thank you!

What I like about the ninja DT 201 is the fan in the back. I believe it creates more even heat then a top or side convection fan.

I use my 9x13 pans a lot in my current Bravo XL and I was looking to upgrade. Thank you for showing that a 13" pan doesn't fit in the new double oven. Unfortunately, that's a deal breaker for me. Have you tried the NuWave iQ360 Pro-Smart Oven? That was the other one I was looking at but I don't know if that fits a 13" pan either. The inside dimensions on the website would seem to indicate it would but it doesn't look like there are a lot of reviews on it, as far as I can find anyway. Thanks for the very informative review 👍

Appreciate such an in-depth review. I know you will be doing more cooking in this. As a long time user of the Pro XL, I am curious about who this new oven is aimed at. I'm not seeing
this an upgrade, but maybe I am missing something.

I just received rhisnoven as a Christmas present. I have never before had an Air Fryer but I am a pretty accompmished home cook, so I have some general cooking experience to bring to the table, as well as a good idea how it compares as we go along. So far:
    1) I did the 25 minute new oven burn as instructed and that went fine and I used the oven immediately after. No problems.
2)Day after Christmas reheated Christmas dinner....Prime Rib slices in the top and two casserole dishes in the bottom (mashed potatoes and vegetables) all at the same time. The Smart Timer worked so-so....I need some practice. When the meat was done, I popped in rolls to toast. There was easily enough room to prepare all this for 4 people at once.Everything was delicious! Normally, I would do all of this in my regular oven at the same time with very similar results, so.....that's a wash. However, I can see the advantage if just heating up enough for 1 or 2 people. Usually for that I would use the microwave, and let's face it....nuking meat even as a reheat, is never really a win. So, this would certainly be a better choice than the microwave.
    2) Blueberry loaf. It baked it fine. I was going to make muffins, but lo!......the muffin tin doesn't fit. Is it worth it to buy two 6-muffin tins and do two cooking cycles, or just use the regular oven like I have always done?
    3) Air Fry grilled cheese. It worked. But....so what? Clean up was a bit more than pan fried. Tomorrow we are going to a Grilled Cheese Cage Match. Exact same sandwiches pan fried, air fried, and one as a toasti in the top. I'll let you know.
    4) toast. It works just fine as a toaster.
    5) bacon. Used the air fryer to make 24oz bacon. It was quite messy as I had to keep rotating and flipping the bacon layers. Took about the same amount of time as we normally take. However, the bacon did NOT taste as good as it normally does. This was a fail.
    6) frozen tator tots. Air fry. Way tastier than in the regular oven. This was a win.

Sounds like this device has the "self cleaning " feature, which most ovens have (most, people don't know how to use) that "self cleans" by raising temperature to a point where it turns most compounds into carbon. (Also looks like charcoal) or the act of very hight temperature turns all into coal

  • @m3rdpwr

    First, thanks for sharing.
I think they missed the mark, by not adding a rotisserie type feature. (Same as the other you showed.)
Also, I was never a fan of when the circulator fans were on the side, vs. the top. In my opinion the cooking is not as even as it could be.
I have experimented with about a dozen of these, including the Ninja, Breville and OMMO both of which had issues, Ninja, Cuisinart, GoWISE, Gourmia, etc.
The Cuisinart, for the price I think was the better unit.
There is a copycat Cuisinart that has a rotisserie feature as well, that piqued my interest.
I had already decided against this for the most part when I was researching this model. I haven't ruled it out completely, but I feel for the price, they could have done better.

I'm hoping budget versions of these air fryer ovens start appearing more here in the uk in cheap shops. Most are just the usual air fryer shape but I'd like an air fryer oven to cook things like frozen pies because my normal oven is rubbish and has a broken seal.

Don’t get me wrong, this is a very innovative product but for the type of cooking I do, I think the Pro XL is better which I have and love it. I also can’t stand the fact that there is no auto pause when you open the door. If it had that, maybe I’d consider it but I still think I’d prefer the XL over this for the type of cooking I do.

I would like to know if you know if this new model of oven comes with a better quality of materials because the previous model turned out to be very bad and it is very difficult to maintain it. When I call Ninja's customer service, they don't know how to give me an answer if the material problems of the previous one were solved in the new model. Could you help me and answer me if you know something. I don't know if in his video he explains something related to the subject because I don't know English, ha ha
