Hi Barbara, I use licky mats and this really helps to get the head in a good position and balance the dog? What are your thoughts on this?. I thought I was using what drives and motivates the dog and I find the licky mat calms the dog as its a natural functional activity they use when relaxing. I do proprioceptive work in the UWT often as it's great for the afferent pathways.
Hi Beth Jane, We have a great resource coming soon on clinic enrichment which includes feeding enrichment techniques from a therapy viewpoint. They can work so well and depends on the dogs behaviours, posture and height of the lickimat, and when in the session it is introduced, thanks for your great question.
