@@ksmiles5333 Thinkware cameras have voltage cutoff built into them. However, in order for this to function, they require the camera be connected to an ACC (ignition-switched) source in addition to a Constant (always-on) source. Can the interior camera be used as a dedicated rear camera instead of recording the interior of the car? Let's say having it mounted inside the rear door of a small SUV.
I just purchased this camera and use the 720 camera as a rear dash cam. Check out the video I've linked. You might want to mute you speakers if you don't like my music choice: th-cam.com/video/mkOS2H8RYuU/w-d-xo.html

Hi Jason, the spliced cable connected to your battery pack allows the dash cam to know when the vehicle has been turned off. Specifically, it's the ACC fuse that gives your dash cam that information. A couple of potential options to help you troubleshoot this situation: - You may have tapped into a Constant fuse, thus why your Thinkware FA200 is staying on Continuous mode - Your spliced cable may be faulty (and if so, we'll help you out!) - Your dash cam settings on your Thinkware app may be off - you may have to update some settings Do try those options out, but if it's still not working, please feel free to Live Chat with us on our website, or email us at info[at]blackboxmycar.com and we'll be able to help you further. How do you view footage without downloading it . Live view is live . But if I want to look at a file I need to download it or is there a way to view it .
Hello there, The FA200 has built-in WiFi and all you would need to do is connect the phone and have that setup with the camera. Once paired, you can view and download files if needed. This will all be done via the Thinkware App.
For a 3-channel setup, you would want a single 2-channel and a single 1-channel dash cam. The units you mentioned would work great - an example would be the Thinkware F800 Pro 2CH and a Thinkware FA200 1CH. However, please do note we recommend an infrared camera for the interior dash cam, which records even under total darkness. If this is important for you, a recommendation would be the Thinkware FA200 IRC 2CH and a Thinkware F800 Pro 1CH.
@@blackboxmycar would one be able to wire both systems into their vehicle to operate in parking more with the buffer feature at the same time? How easy would it be to access the app feature of both cameras from one phone?
@@WHOOSHer3 Yup, you can do so. That would just mean double the power draw and double the wear on tear on the vehicle's battery (which is why we'd recommend that at least one of the setups utilizes a dash cam battery pack instead). The app is very convenient to switch between - just need to disconnect one then connect to the other.
Hey there, you will be able to. That said for obvious reasons, it will be harder to make out compared to 4K dash cams, but with 1080p, as long as the vehicle is close enough, you will be able to see the license plates.
If the camera is hardwired for parking mode (and this function is enabled), the camera will continue to record until the vehicle battery drops to the voltage cutoff point set!

Hi Lenard, an interior IR camera is great for those who are in the rideshare business, ie. Uber, Lyft, taxi and even transit drivers. There was a story that broke out in Brooklyn a couple years ago where an Uber customer stole tips right from the driver's tip jar, and that was all caught on camera. For regular drivers like us, if a thief breaks into our vehicle, we would be able to capture exactly what they've stolen (great for easy insurance claims too). Now, we're not saying that an interior IR camera is better than a rear camera, because they both have their use cases. There are options to go 3-channel, ie. front / rear / interior protection, too. If you're ever in the market for that, email us at info@blackboxmycar.com and we'll be happy to help. Hope this answers your question!
