At 0:22 when Hazel starts saying "Namida" shes actually saing tears in Japanese. I felt like clarifying this so people don't think the song is all "haha funny girl singing in Japanese" over animation.

i did pixel animation in the same program as a Typh, and it's not that hard. there's a special pixel brush to draw like this.
