I was one of a family of six children…I’m 76 and Welsh, at the age of 12 my father passed his driving test and purchased a mini bus to accommodate a family of 8 and our loyal dog, he too drove us around Wales to places of interest including England. Your children when they are older will truly appreciate these memories.
Thank you for promoting Ynys Mon- Anglesey. I was born and spent 20 years here before I went off to University. I now live in England and as a family we visit my parents a couple of times a year. My wife and son love the beaches. We were there two weeks ago, and we despair at how much more the local economy could benefit by the local businesses being smarter and more ambitious. Anglesey is beautiful and a missed gem of the UK.

Thank you for visiting my home county. So many people don’t get beyond Eryri (Snowdonia). Fourty minutes is definitely too little time to visit Beaumaris castle though! When our kids were growing up we used to return to Anglesey to visit their grandparents every year for a week or two, then they stayed extra time one with my mother and the other with my husband’s parents for a week, then they would swap. So each got undivided attention from their grandparents for at least one week each year. My younger son loved the Anglesey Sea Zoo, he wanted to visit every year. I spent a lot of time with my grandparents as a child. Precious times.
One life, live it.Your family certainly live to that maxim.Your kids like mine will be thankful of all the experiences(when they are older lol). My brood still remember wondering around the UK and the the rest of the world. A few complaints and sulks and arguments during the course of our travels. But now they are adults we occasionally share pictures on WhatsApp remembering beaches,castles,meals,mountains and animals from Europe,Africa and Southeast Asia.Priceless memories. I live in Beaumaris and haven't been in the butchers 😂 mostly because I know the tourist prices vs the butchers in the next town..but first thing tomorrow I'm getting some of those burgers!! Great video..lovely footage! Shame you missed Penmon Point just 5 minutes around the coast but theres always next time. Very lucky kids getting to see the world!! ❤
One of the nicest things to buy at Beaumaris artisan market is homemade Bara Brith and Welshcakes. It's a case of getting there early because they sell quite quickly. No wonder they are yummy!
Just across the bay from Anglesey is Portmeirion, which is a tiny village, very picturesque with beautiful architecture all in pastel colours. I went there when I took art in college to draw the buildings.

Anglesey sea salt is the best. You should definitely visit Newborough beach and Llandwyn Island if you visit again. Wales has some other most beautiful beaches in the UK.

Those millers’ stones are a fortune to buy in recycling yards …. You’d have fun in one of those. Occasionally you may find a Roman stone coffin that was recycled into a horse trough… and you see them planted up with fewer in some villages …
Those roads are low and the hedges high as they’ve been there hundreds if not a thousand years …. Sheep and cattle driving paths … and then carts taking the mud road away … so it gets deeper and the hedges to keep in the sheep in the fields above, get higher …. Devon is the same … but in spring covered by primroses and daffodils …
I live locally to Melin Llynnon. There was nothing nicer as a kid than walking to the mill money in pocket and buying myself a loaf of freshly baked bread for £1. Hopefully, the mill will make bread once more soon.

Loved your video. Our daughter lives in Anglesey and we visit her at least once a fortnight to child mind. It is a beautiful part of the world and I hope you can get there again. There is loads more to see including Plas Cadnant gardens between Beaumaris (pronounced 'Byoomaris) and Menai Bridge, fabulous beaches all around the coast, Oriel Ynys Mon gallery in Llangefni which has a folk museum as well as art exhibitions, Plas Newydd house and grounds (hosts a junior parkrun at 9am on Sundays), a surprisingly interesting transport museum near Newborough (Newborough itself is worth a visit - interesting geological features, forest and beaches) plus plenty of other attractions. Two days just isn't long enough.
Hi Mac and family,here is a bit of modern history from a hundred yards from the car park of the Neolithic tomb.There is an old school house there where a highly regarded NASA scientist during the Apollo missions went to school there,I will leave you to have fun finding him out,glad you enjoyed Ynys Mon
Mac if tombs are your thing, and you ever go to Greece, go to the Peloponnese peninsula where you can visit and go into King Agamemnon’s tomb, also built into a mound of earth, where the ceiling still has smoke stains from the ritual fires that burned when he was entombed. Agamemnon of the Trojan War, the Helen whose face launched a thousand ships, all written about in the Iliad and the Odyssey. Across the road are piles of boulders, which make up the rubble from his palace that was once there.
for future reference when in Wales again not far from where you was is angel bay near llandudno they have a beach where lots of seals come to shore all year round , the kids would love it 😁 loved all your videos ✅

It was invented when they got trains … it means something like, the church by the hill by the reef… in you’ve translated it!!! … many of our place names are ..l ‘ the stream by the hill …. My family farm means, ‘ land of stones’, in the Irish language …

You, sir, are becoming an accomplished videographer. Ynys Môn is indeed much revered as the final holdout of the Druids during the Roman invasion. However, it doesn't have any fiddle snakes! The adder is the UK's only venomous snake, and Ynys Môn has recently recorded the rare Black Adder. The only criticism I have is that your videos in Wales make very scant reference to one of the oldest living languages in Europe. 60 percent of Ynys Môn residents use Welsh daily, yet you barely mention its existence. Earlier, on Yr Wyddfa or in the Eryri National Park, you kept using the English terms. Did you do that in Namibia? Keep up the great work as a dad and travelogue producer.
Been to the coast of north Wales every year growing up…and Anglesey later on …. Did you see the nuclear bunker. ? Not much to see but a hill with a lid …

Loads to do in Anglesey for the kids … exploring rock pools at low tide with a net and a bucket … crabing off Four Mile bridge and the old pier at Holyhead Harbour … going for long walks with the promise of an ice cream at the end … exploring ancient ruins and castles … actually enjoying playing outside instead of playing Xbox games etc … swimming in the sea and riding the waves in Trearddur Bay … going to the car boot at the Anglesey show grounds (Mona) … loads of things to do … yes some cost money but some are free …

I Remember 1976 when we had Months of Summer. Then it started to drop to weeks .The Two weeks now we have just 2 Days .!! Bloody hell.

Had a nice stay in Anglesey a few years ago when we were orienteering at Newborough. It is a lovely island and quieter than other parts of Wales.
